Kayra's POV

I sat on the living room sofa, staring at the wall clock which showed two in the morning. My eyes felt heavy, but the thought of Darwis not yet coming home made it difficult for me to sleep. Since the last few days, Darwis' behavior has become increasingly strange and difficult to understand. He often came home late at night, and when he came home, his mind seemed to be somewhere else.

My cell phone was lying on the table, with the last message from Darwis which read.

[I'm still at the office. I'll be home later.]

I took a deep breath, feeling annoyed and anxious at the same time. What really happened to Darwis? Why did he suddenly become so distant and difficult to reach?
