I can still rewind all those conversations I had with Mom, Eric, Samuel, or anyone. And it's crazy how I realize the depth of those words now.

Even though I challenged Eric to prove him wrong, I only knew why I wanted to date other people.

To move on from Samuel.

To save myself from the disappointment.

I was young. Too young to figure things out. But still, deep down, I had this thing that falling in love with Samuel would be the most challenging thing I would ever do, as if I could already sense the complications of our dynamics due to how different, isolated, and mysterious he was.

As a teenage girl, I was still well aware of the problems I could see coming. But the strange thing is that as I grew up, I became more confident to take on the challenges of loving him.

Ever since I found him back, with a vow to be his life partner, I never cared about the risks of heartbreak that I might have. I chose the risk. I chose him.
