Chapter 40: Doubt

“Destiny’s POV”

He left me all alone in the dining room, and I saw a different side of him today. He was nervous. I never could have imagined the great Beelzebub being nervous about something. Maybe he wasn't as bad as I thought.

I stayed there, hoping that maybe he might show up or come back to finish his untouched food, but he didn't. I got tired of waiting, so I left and headed back to my dorm.

I opened my room door and closed it behind me, and saw June with a big smile on her face sitting on my bed. "What's up with you?" I said, sitting beside her.

"How was it? Your date with Beelzebub?" she said, and I giggled.

"Who told you it was a date?" I questioned.

"Madam Jenna. She said you ate with Beelzebub in his special dining hall," she said dramatically.

"Oh, come on. It's not even a date. Probably, you don't even know what a date is," I muttered.

"Come to think of it, he didn't say much to me," I added.

"Then why did he invite you to join him?" she asked.

"I don't know," I mumbled,
