Chapter 7: Is It Not Enough?

ACADIA'S POV

After the embarrassing incident, I resumed working and now I am assigned to the library.

I don’t know what else face I will present to the new professor. 

I didn't even think before saying the phrase " That I have a relationship with you." I hope I just kept the boss' question to myself.

And one more thing... Acadia?! Seriously?! Did you think that the professor would like you just because of the good things he does to you? Didn't you even think that he was a professor, and it was natural for him to do that especially since you are his student and you combine study with work.

"Do I have to apologize?" I asked myself and sat down on one of the chairs here in the library where the table was empty. "Maybe I need to," I whispered more and messed up my hair.

I let out a long breath. You just have to be sorry and DONE!

I stood up again and picked up the mop next to me and started mopping the floor.

In the middle of my mopping, I was startled when someone touched me from my shoulder. I looked at it and it was Acey.

“Oh, Acey? Why? Are you short on money? I don't have any money right now, it's in the Staff— ”

“No, sister! What are you!" he cuts to what I have to say

"Books are being talked about in this room, so if there is nothing to weaken your voices, go out first." Acey turned to our right and the librarian was there.

"I'm sorry."

"Sorry."

Acey and I once again apologized and quietly exited the library. 

"Have you seen Sister Acasia yet?" she asked and her happy face was replaced by sadness. “You haven't always talked before, but now that I know you have a misunderstanding, it's difficult." 

“Not yet, I haven't even seen her friends. Let's find Asia later after my work. ” I answered with a forced smile.

"You're not going to night class, sister?" 

“Maybe? But I still have one free hour before my night class, I just hope we can find your sister before the end of the hour. But in case we don't, I won't come in, we'll just find her before night. ” I answered and hugged her. “Everything will be okay, Acey. Don't even think about our family's problem, okay? That might affect your education. ”Me and let go of my hug with her.

“Eat at the right time, sister, huh? I love you.” She made me smile. She is really sweet when it comes to me. If Acasia is like this, no matter how difficult our situation is now, it will be nice to move on with life.

Nothing is more important to me than my family. Acey and Acasia.

“I love you too. All right, go to your room and I'll go to the library. ” I while pointing at the library door. She nodded.

"Yes sister! Bye bye! ”

"A-Ah my hip hurts." I while holding my hip after I entered the Staff Quarters.

"Come here, I'll massage it, lods." Kerky suddenly said behind me

"Are you serious?" 

“Why? Do I look like I'm kidding? Pft. ” He asked foolishly

“Hips? Massage? Tsk stop me, Kerky. Stop it. ” I said it seriously and sat down in the chair. "How's work chongs?" I asked another colleague of Kerky and me.

“It's okay, Acadia. It's still work. ” Mario replied while washing his hand with paint.

They seem to be fixing the room from the height of the building of the Professors 'Offices. I even helped to lift down the things in that room and it was really very heavy because it was pure paper.

I faced Kerky again who was now also sitting next to me and leaning his whole back and head against the wall while there was a handkerchief on his face. "Kerky?" I call him to find out if he is still awake or not.

"Hmm?" he and removed the handkerchief from his face. "Why?" he asked while his eyes are closed.

I was stunned. I do not know why. I tilt my head. Why does this person seem to look different now? I watched his face more.

“Will you just stare at me, Lods? I might melt. Are you ready to rebuild me when that happens?” he suddenly asked so I came back to myself.

After realizing his question, I looked at him, "You know so much nonsense in life, huh?”

“Pft. Are you angry right now? Why did you call me? What is it?" He asked.

“I may not be able to attend class tonight, because Acey and I will be looking for Acasia and she hasn't come home yet and I haven't seen her here at the University either. You just have to explain to Professor why I didn't get in. And if you have something to write later, write it down, please write it down, I'll just borrow it tomorrow.” I said and he nodded with his eyes closed.

“Okay. I hope you can find Acasia. ” He answered and permanently slept again.

After that, I didn't bother him anymore. It looks like the crazy one is really drowsy.

"You didn't finish your work at the right time, sister?" Acey asked politely after she left her classroom.

"I said there's an emergency." I answered and walked with her out of the building.

"Sister… Where can we find sister Acasia?" She asked that made me stopped.

How can I find her when I don't know where she is going?

"A-Ah, let's just go to your sister's classroom first." Me and held her hand and went to Acasia's classroom.

When we got there, the students were already leaving. I approached a student next to my sister in the chair.

"A-Ah hi?" me and dhe looked at me.

"Do you need something?" she asked and adjusted her eyeglasses.

"You know Acasia, right?" I ask here.

“Acasia? Yes, I know her. Why? ” 

“She didn't come home last night. I am her older sister. Do you know— ” I didn't finish what I was about to say when she spoke.

“Sister? I thought you were her family's helper in their mansion. That's what she told me and being a janitress just adds to your work so that you can watch over her. ” Full of astonishment she said. 

I looked at Acey and she sighed. “A-Ah hehe my sister's classmate. Just ignore my sister Acasia's introduction to my sister Acadia. Let's go back to what we should be talking about. Do you know any places that sister Acasia can go?" Acey asked as I no longer spoke.

Asia's rejection of me as her sister was even more severe. I don’t know but I was really insulted. I just took a deep breath to stop the weight building up here in my chest.

“Hmm even her two friends didn't attend our class. Maybe they are together now. ”

"Do you know where they can go?" Acey asked.

“N-No. I wasn't that close to one of them.” She replied.

“A-Ah”

"But I know where their house is, because we are in the same subdivision." She added and so I looked at her.

“Can you join us to go there? She might be there. ” Me and she nodded.

“Sure, no problem." She answered and looked at her wrist watch. “Maybe Mang Nestor already there. Come with me. ” 

"Thank you." I just said that and Acey and I followed her.

“This is their house. I'm not sure if they're inside, you just have to knock. ” She and we nodded.

"Thank you." She smiled before leaving.

I was currently peeking inside the house when suddenly it opened. Coming out of that house was Asia and the man I caught sje was sitting on the thigh.

I quickly passed Acey away from the opposite gate to hide. I would wait for them to get out of the house before approaching her.

"Sister, who is that man with sister Acasia?" Acey asked in a whisper.

"I dont know."

When she got away from home, I chased her there with her friends.

"Asia!" I shouted and at once they turned away from me.

I can see the shock on her face and I’m sure now she’s asking herself how we got here.

"Sister!" Acey shouted and happily approached her. “Sister, why didn't you come home last night, huh? Sister Acadia and I are worried. ” 

"Hey girl, she always pops up like a mushroom." Said one of her friends.

"W-What are you doing here?" Asia asked Acey and me after she let go of Acey's hug.

“I should be the one asking you that, Asia. What are you doing here?! ” 

“W-What! I'm hurting!" Sh shouted and tried to get rid of my grip on her arm but I put more pressure on it.

“If you can't go home you think you're not a woman, huh?! And as if no one is waiting for you in the house?! ” Me and I heard her companions speak.

“Hey! What you are doing to my friend is too much!" her friend shouted and was about to approach when I looked at her badly.

"What I do is just natural because I'm her sister." I answered her and they were surprised.

"S-Shut up." Asia whispered hard to me so I shifted my gaze to her.

"Let's go home, Acey." We left that place that I could almost drag her.

Acey, on the other hand, is always reminds me not to drag Asia. "Sister, take it easy. Ate Acasia, please, let's go home without any trouble.” Acey while busy helping Asia.

“Please, Acasia. Don't embarrass me. ” I whispered and she glared at me, and this time she let go of my hold. She ran quickly into the house while I was just out of breath.

"Come on, sister." Acey and I smiled. “You also said, sister. Our family will be okay too so don't be sad. ” She added so I just smiled before continuing to walk home again.

“Asia…” I called her name after we entered the house.

She ignored me and just continued to change the uniform that she looked like she had been wearing since yesterday.

I took a deep breath before she pulled in front of me. "S-Sister!" Acey so I turned to her.

"Let me, Acey." I said it seriously and she bowed.

"It's not because you're the eldest, if you act here at home, you'll think you're our parents." Asia so I turned to her.

“Huh? What should I do here at home? What should it be, Asia? If you know what to do, why don't you stand up as the eldest? ” I asked her and looked straight into her eyes. "Why don't you work?" 

"S-Sisters." Acey's voice cracked.

"What did you say? If I acted here at home, I thought, I'm your parents? ” I asked and laughed. “Why? Aren't my efforts enough for you to think that I stand as a parent and not only just as a sister to you?” 

“We are big, Acadia. Everything is okay with me, but you will interfere— ”

“Natural! You're my sister, and I'm your older sister! And what do you think of the things you do that I interfere with ?! Good deed?! Ha?! To sit on a man's thigh right inside the school?! Are you serious, Asia?! ” I cut to what she was saying.

"I know what I'm doing." She replied.

“Yes! I know you know what you’re doing! But you don't know how I feel and Acey. Is that how you really feel ashamed of the job I have, huh, Asia? Why don't you work? If you're like that because of my job, because you're ashamed of what I am, because your friends don't like me, okay! Embarrass me whenever you want. It's okay, Asia. It's okay for you to deny me but what did you do yesterday? I don't see a single reason about me why you did that. ” I couldn't help but to cry. 

“I can't quite imagine, when you didn't come home last night, that's when I found out that you could turn your back on Acey and me just for your friends. I want to… I just want to tell you… We are still the ones you can run to, do you think you are their friend until the end? ” I asked and faked a laugh. “No, Asia. I'm telling you, no. Especially now? That simply janitress they can't accept that when happen to be your sister? You are only fooling yourself if you still choose them. ” I say this seriously.

"Sister, that's enough." Acey sighed and I just smiled sparingly.

“If you don't understand me. I work for our day-to-day expenses. For your study expenses. Not for you to learn to embarrass me, Asia. Not for you to learn to flirt. ” I and her mouth fell open because of the last thing I said.

"S-Sister." Acey go between us.

"You are ashamed of me? Okay, you can embarrass me whenever you want and I won't give a damn to that anymore. But I just hope your stomach doesn't hurt with every meal you eat that comes from the money I earn as a janitress, and may your hands not rot every time you ask me for money. Money I earn from my work that you are so embarrassed."
