Thank you all for reading!
Scarlet POV I just finished throwing up for the third time this morning. Jaxson was in his office having a meeting with Jessy and I was resting my head on the porcelain God. The cool seat felt good against the clamminess of my skin. The bathroom door opened to Jennifer walking in. “You okay?” “Don’t I look okay?” I said sarcastically. My voice echoed in the toilet. Jennifer smiled at me. She grabbed a washcloth and got it wet under some water. Ringing out the extra water, she came over and washed the sweat off my face. “You’re pale.” “Pregnancy sucks. Why can’t you just go to the store and buy a kid?” I asked, halfway joking. “You can, it’s called adoption.” Jennifer laughed. “That isn’t biologically your child though.” I challenged back. “True. It will be worth it, I am sure.” She gave me an empathetic smile. “Can I ask you a personal question?” “You want to know why I am not having kids?” Jennifer guessed. “Yeah. You don’t have to answer if you don’t want to.” “No, it
Jaxson POV It has been a few days since we visited Maverick. He said he would look over things and get back to me. So far, I haven’t heard anything but I am trying to be patient as he does have a newborn. That will be me in a few months. Scarlet’s morning sickness is really taking a toll on her. Looking at my watch, I noticed it is still early but I have been working since 3am. Currently, it is 6:03am and Scarlet should still be sleeping for another two hours.. Hopefully. Sighing, I flipped over the last of the restaurant paperwork. Jessy was so happy to be officially running the store. I still technically own it but it is hers to do as she wishes. I put my heart and soul into it but with a baby coming, I know it needs someone who can be there 24/7. Signing the last part, I folded it and put it into a vanilla envelope for someone to take it to Jessy for me. This will solidify her future. I felt really good about this. Ring! Ring! Ring! My phone started buzzing on the desk by my co
Scarlet POV Rolling over, I was met with a cold bed. It took blinking a few times for me to focus on the empty bed beside me. I could feel his emotions and he was feeling a bit stressed at this moment so he either is working or punching something. Moving the hair from my face, I was able to fully see our room. We have been here longer than I would have liked but with my morning sickness, we haven’t been able to get things moved into his house. Now that Jared is out of the picture, I feel more comfortable moving out there. I had ordered the baby items and they should be arriving today. I felt my stomach turn over and knew I had about 30 seconds before I throw up all over our bed. Jumping up, I ran to the bathroom and managed to make it just in time to get the toilet. This shit sucks. I am so over all this. My stomach has a little bump to it. I wasn’t sure exactly how long this pregnancy will be but I feel like this baby will come early. Not sure how but I just have this feeling tha
Jaxson POV “JAXSON!” Scarlet yelled from across the office. “What? I am right here!” Looking up, she was looking rather irritated at me. “I have been talking to you for the last five minutes. Did you even hear what I said?” Yup, she was annoyed. “No, sorry. I was reading an email.” The email that I had just received was from the councilmen. Alpha Isaac died last night and it was reported that it was from natural causes. Bullshit! I know Jared had something to do with it. I was typing a response when she was talking to me. “Well pay attention! The flowers and everything will be here tonight and I will need help setting it up. Also, the tent is being set up right now by some guys and then I am going to go down there and decorate it. I think everything is ready to go for tomorrow.” She was clearly frazzled and the pregnancy hormones weren’t helping. “What do you need from me?” I asked, trying to sound like I do care. I really do care but I need to respond to this email and keep t
Scarlet POV For the second time in a row, I woke up to an empty bed. However, this time, my finger touched something hard. Opening my eyes, I saw there was a single red rose laying across his pillow with a note attached to it. Smiling as I sat up and opened the note to read it. Dear My Future Luna, Words cannot express how happy I am that this day has finally arrived. I would be lying if I said that I have always wanted this day to come but you have really opened my eyes. You have shown me patience and kindness. How to love someone and be loved in return. You are constantly surprising me with how strong and brave you are. I am so proud to have you stand beside me as my Luna. You are not allowed to come down to the ceremony till it is time. I will take care of all the final details but today is about you. Enjoy your morning getting ready and I will see you as you walk down the aisle. Love, Your fearless but loving Alpha. I laughed at the ending and threw my tears. The laughte
Jaxson POV I was getting nervous but I kept trying to calm my nerves so Scarlet didn’t feel them. I was dressed early so I decided to go down to the venue and check it out. Standing at the opening, it was perfect. The greenergy and white hanging flowers seemed to be someone Scarlet gravitated towards. It was simple but elegant work. The morning vibe will keep everything cool but we still installed air conditioning fans to be on if they are needed. Centerpieces were out and the lack of wind really helped keep everything in place. Couldn’t have picked a more perfect day. People were tricking in and I think I was congratulated by every single pack member. All the older women that watched me grow up were crying tears of happiness. I finally found a mate and was “setting down”. The younger women were crying because I was now officially off the market and they weren’t going to be luna. The men looked like they could care less and are only here because their mates or parents told them to b
Scarlet POV “I did!” A young girl, around 13 stepped forward. The parents were looking very nervously as their daughter slipped out of their hands and stepped forward in front of Jaxson and I. He visibly relaxed as he looked at her. “May I ask what your name is?” I asked sweetly. No reason to get worked up over this, this isn’t a true challenge since she is under age. “Kara.” She was looking at me with tears in her eyes, she had a broken heart. “Kara, that is a pretty name. Tell me, why did you want to challenge me for Alpha Jaxson?” I stayed with the caring approach. “I have had a crush on him for years! I wanted to be his Luna!” she burst out in full hysterics as she crumbled to the ground. My heart shattered for her. Walking up to her and bending down, I was careful not to touch her. “Kara, do you know what a challenge is?” “Yes! We f-fight till one submits and the w-winner gets the Alpha.” “Kinda, did you know the challenges are till death?” Her head snapped up to me
Jaxson POV I was walking right behind Scarlet as we headed towards our office. That comment really didn’t settle well with me. I know business is business but damn if they are going to be calling the shots in my own pack. Maverick was on the other side of Scarlet and by the way he is walking and holding himself, he isn’t happy either. Scarlet on the other hand was cool and collected. She was born for this. I couldn’t have been more proud of how she handled those two little girls. I gotta say, when I heard the challenge I was instantly pissed. Ready to tear the head off of the girl that even muttered those words. I didn’t even want a Luna and now that I have one, she has my whole heart. To think I would let another woman in is ridiculous. Walking into the office, Maverick held the door for everyone and I went around to my desk and sat down, pulling Scarlet on my lap. Mainly to help me stay calm but it also felt right. I would watch other Alpha’s do this and even my own parents. Mav
