Scarlet POV

I just finished throwing up for the third time this morning. Jaxson was in his office having a meeting with Jessy and I was resting my head on the porcelain God. The cool seat felt good against the clamminess of my skin. The bathroom door opened to Jennifer walking in.

“You okay?”

“Don’t I look okay?” I said sarcastically. My voice echoed in the toilet.

Jennifer smiled at me. She grabbed a washcloth and got it wet under some water. Ringing out the extra water, she came over and washed the sweat off my face. “You’re pale.”

“Pregnancy sucks. Why can’t you just go to the store and buy a kid?” I asked, halfway joking.

“You can, it’s called adoption.” Jennifer laughed.

“That isn’t biologically your child though.” I challenged back.

“True. It will be worth it, I am sure.” She gave me an empathetic smile.
