Chapter Two: Ruin Him

Isabella Makenzie

I retreated backwards, my gaze drawn to the soft voice of the woman behind me. I chuckled inwardly, "Really?",  I inquired, sarcastically. That was simply not possible. How could someone I do not know from anywhere just come into the picture and offer to help?

"What do you want to help with?" I asked, and she snorted.

"Do you now have doubts?" She inquired rather than answering my question.

Gazing up at her, I noticed that she had on a stunning maxi dress that complemented her hazel eyes. She was the epitome of luxury at that point.

However, that was not the least of my problems. I do not have the time to trick people like she does.

"Ma'am, you should be answering my questions." I do not have time for your tantrums. If you do not mind, I would like to leave now." I replied and scoffed unbelievably before making my way out, but her next words were even more shocking than the first.

"I am ready to assist you with your mother's medical bill." My eyes grew wide with shock at what she said.

"What?" I looked at her in astonishment. "What did you say just now?"

"It is what you have heard. I understand you are troubled, and I am willing to assist you with your mother's bill." She responded a smirk appearing on her face.

Is this some kind of joke for this woman? She appeared calm, but what she was saying did not make sense to me.

I closed my eyes and sucked on my tooth as I tried to make a statement.

"How come you are aware of my mother's treatment? "Who are you?" I questioned, my gaze most offensively directed at her.

Who in the hell does she believe she is? Some mighty woman? This doctor must be kidding me, because what the heck is this?

"Is that your problem right now?

She approached me, gently placing her hand on my shoulder, which I quickly yanked off.

"Yes, that is my problem now. Why would someone I do not know discuss my mother's treatment?"

"I just overheard this from one of the nurses. They were discussing how they would have to halt your mother's treatment if you did not pay promptly." She confessed, and I huffed.

I could not believe they would say such a thing aloud. They should at the very least be courteous.

"Okay," I remained silent for a while, perplexed by her words. "What makes you want to help me? Nowadays, people will not help unless they receive something in return. I replied, and a smile spread across her face.

In many ways, the way she spoke indicated that she was older than me.

"You are a clever person who fits my personality. We probably can not stand here and have this kind of conversation. Let us move to a more convenient location. She suggested, and I nodded in agreement.

"Do you know of anywhere better than this? I am new to this place. She inquired, and I raised my eyebrows.

People like us, however, are unfamiliar with real estate.

"Yeah, but it may not be as convenient for you as it is for me," I replied, and she stood there for a while before clearing her throat.

"We could have this discussion in my car then."

While strolling down the street, I came across a Mercedes-Benz AMG. My eyes widened as I stared at her with surprise.

I assumed she was wealthy, but not enough so that she could afford a Mercedes. It was unusual to see this type of car moving around.

The door opened, and a chauffeur dressed in white emerged from the car, bowing and opening the door for us.

Who is this strange woman? That was the only question left unanswered in my mind.

"Because you are smart enough, I would be more direct with you. Erm.."

She fell silent for a moment, her fingers extended as if she had lost track of what she was saying.

"What's your name again?" She asked, and I scoffed.

"You should know my name because you know how I appear. I do not believe what you said about hearing things from the nurse because they can not tell you who I am either. I responded, and she gave a small chuckle.

I raised my eyebrows, and she sighed. "You are a clown. On a normal day, I would not go through the stress of having a long conversation with someone I am assisting, but because you are also assisting me, I have no choice." She stared at her chauffeur in the mirror, and he understood the assignment without saying anything.

"Money handles all of these tasks for me. I do not have to travel long distances to obtain my desired outcome. Let us avoid all the stress. You need money now, and I do not need much from you." She replied with a stern expression, and I bit my lips.

I was scared to know what she needed. Ten thousand dollars was not in play right now.

"You previously stated that you would be straightforward; can we be straightforward now? What do you need in exchange?" I asked impatiently.

All I wanted was for my mother to be okay and receive proper care. I would do anything to make sure she was okay.

"Okay," She clicked on her phone and looked outside the open glasses before returning her gaze to mine.

Her next words had me speechless as I opened my eyes wide. "I want you to ruin him."
