Chapter 7

𝘿𝙖𝙫𝙞𝙙'𝙨 𝙋𝙊𝙑. 

I was standing at the entrance of my goddess's apartment complex when she came out of the exit looking drop dead gorgeous in a wine ruched midi bodycon dress paired with a black stilettos and a velvet black Fendi handbag and a box. 

This woman was going to be the death of me. 

Her hips swayed gorgeously as she moved closer and she smiled at me. 

I smiled back and opened the passenger door for her and she entered and thanked me. 

I rushed up to drivers seat and drove towards our destination. 

"I love you car." She said. 

"Thank you. " I smiled and then silence engulfed the car. 

"What's in the box? " I asked seeing the box on her lap. 

"It's a gift for your parent....... I can go to my fake boyfriend parent's house for the first time without bringing a gift. " She explained and I nodded. 

"So who is Selina?....... I tried finding a picture of you two together but found nothing on the internet....... So who is she?" She asked out of the blue as we stopped because of the traffic lights turning red. 

I didn't like talking about Selina but she was kind enough to play along and take time out of her schedule just to help us. 

"She was my ex whom I was about to marry but found her in bedroom with my mum's nephew a week before our wedding....... Apparently, she has been sleeping with him since we started dating and she was his ex back in college..... We broke up immediately after that and I cut ties with anything that has to do with her. " 

I saw pity flash on her face which I didn't want and my hatred for Selina increased tremendously. 

"And your cousin? " She asked

"I just tolerate him because he is my mum's only family but I limit our conversations and interactions but I do speak to him for the sake of my mum who hasn't stopped feeling ashamed for what he did........ She was my and my father's savings grace after my egg donor of a mother eloped with my dad's business rival after he went bankrupt...... She was my dad's secretary by then and helped him take care of the business and me and thanks to her ideas and dad's hardworking nature...... He bounced back and married her a year later and I have never seen him so happy in my life like he is with her and that was when I realized they were soulmates. . " 

She smiled at me as I drove towards the mansion. 

"She is a very sweet woman and only a fool won't fall for her but am surprised she is  pregnant especially at her age. " She said surprised and amused

"We all are but we are all happy especially after finding out it's a girl....... Literally the first girl in my side of the family in three generations." 

"And I know for sure that you, your father, brother and best friend are really going to spoil her silly. " 

She said and giggled adorably and I laughed and nodded because she wasn't wrong. 

"We would,after all she is the only girl in the family. " I said as I pulled into the gates of my parent house and she gasped in adoration seeing the house and I smiled at her. 

We entered the house to find my parent at the entrance of into the house. 

My mom immediately hugged her and she shook hands with my dad as my mum introduced them to each other. 

Maya gave her the gift and my mum kissed her on the cheek and both giggled. 

"You are more beautiful than the way my wife described and she won't stop praising and gushing over you...... I think you have replaced me as the love of his life. " My dad said playfully and Maya giggled as my mother glared at him and hit his shoulder playfully. "Ouch woman..... What with the violence! " My bad explained rubbing his shoulder as my mum literally dragged Maya in leaving us behind as I watched them disappear into the house. 

My father cleared his throat breaking my reverie and I gulp down the lump of embarrassment at being caught staring. 

He moved closer to me and placed his hand on my shoulder. 

"I always knew you will find the right one...... Because I had faith in you and am so proud of you but I never thought I will leave to see the day son falls in love and he did and am so happy. " My father said clearly pleased with Maya but I felt guilty knowing his will end so. 

"No David..... She is the one and you have to win her over and make her yours forever.... Yes I would do just that. " I thought and smiled back at my father as we walked in. 

Mum and Maya were laughing at the table at something Maya said and I couldn't be more happier seeing my mother this happy with Maya. 

"Hello my lovely people. " I heard my annoying brother greet behind us and rushed pass I and my father to my mum and hugged her. 

"Mummy's boy. " I and my father said in unison and chuckled. 

"And proud to be. " He responded as he sat down and licked his lips seeing all the variety of food on the table. 

Such a foodie. 

We all sat down and started eating and my goddess and I choose some spaghetti and meatballs. 

We both looked up to find my father, mother and Collin staring at us with smiles on their faces confusing the hell out of us. 

"What? " I asked and my mum giggled. 

"Don't you two realize you are eating the same food and with how Maya is enjoying it..... I know it her favorite food and so is it your David." 

I smiled and so did my goddess. 

"So Maya..... Where are you from and what do you do for a living? " My father asked as he digged into his salad. 

"I grew up in Miami, Florida in a foster home. "Y Goddess revealed making my parent stop eating. 

" Are you an orphan? " Mum asked and she nodded. 

"I was found at the steps of a church when I was just three days old and the priest tooke to the police who but me into a foster home and luckily it was a good home...... I stayed there through out my life until I was eighteen and moved out with my sister Mimi who was fifteen by then and is now studying at Michigan State University....... I went to Miami University and studied business management and later went to a college for interior design and I now work for Passion Designs. " 

"Wow...... It one of the best design companies in the world and am so proud of you especially knowing how you made a good life for yourself coming from such a terrible system....... Well welcome to the Gandy family. " My father said and I was amazed st how quick he has warmed up to Maya with just one met. 

"My soon to be sister in law is the best. " Collin said and stuffed his mouth with some grilled chicken. 

I and Maya widened out eyes in shock at hai statement but my parent laughed. 

"Collin is so eager to make you his sister in law. " My father said to Maya who hit Collin on his shoulder. "Well let me tell you...... He is not the only eager for that because we are too. " 

I was surprised by what my father said because he never warms up to people that easily but he did with Maya. 

"Well we are getting to know each other and you never know in a few months, we will give you the big news. " I said with a smirk while looking at a shocked Maya. 

"And I can't wait to hear it. " My father said enthusiastically and my mum nodded. 

"Maya...... If ever this idiot hurts you in anyway, don't hesitate to call us and we will deal with him. " My mum said sternly and Maya nodded but threw a glare at me and I looked away with a smile knowing she was going to rain hell on me. 

"Don't worry Mr and Mrs Gandy....... I will deal with him myself and I will also call you two for backup when I need it. " Maya said and my eyes widened in shock and I heard my parent and brother laughing. 

She was definitely not going spare me and I know that because of her body language and the grip on her fork. 

The door bell rang breaking our reverie and we all looked at each other confused.

Robert the butler, rushed and opened and in entered the one person no one wants and it was none other than Noel. 

"Hello fam. " 

He said as he sat down without being invited and he eyes couldn't leave my Maya.
