Chapter 6

𝘿𝙖𝙫𝙞𝙙'𝙨 𝙋𝙊𝙑. 

I was so glad my goddess accepted our request even though I knew she was uncomfortable but being a kind hearted lady, she agreed. 

We stood up to leave when she spoke. 

"Excuse me?.... Where do you three think you are going? " 

We all looked stood her confused and she rolled her eyes and groan. 

"Amateurs." She exclaimed shocking us as she stood up. "You mother is not a child....... I know Rich folks always have background checks on their children's partners and she will realize we are lying if we don't know anything basic about each other and I thought it will be the next thing we do but you are leaving. " 

I smiled at her amazed at how good she was at organization. 

Oliver and Collin sat down again but I stood up looking her and she felt it because she looked up at me with a frown. 

"Where do we start? " I asked as I sat next to Oliver. 

"Where did you go to school? " 

We were all shocked and speechless by her question and she frown not getting any answer. 

"Wait...... Have you ever googled his name? " Collin asked un shock and she shook her head. 

"I have better things to do than snobbing into people's lives but I guess you are right....... I will get some information on the net but so let's start about me........ I grew up in Miami, Florida at a foster home. "

My heart pained hearing this. 

"I was homeschooled until I got to high school, I attended Miami Jackson Senior High School and the off to Miami University where u studied business management and interior designs, I have a sister name Mimi who is studying at Michigan State University. My favorite foods is jollof rice, spaghetti and meatballs and I really love junk foods.... Don't you dare judge me. " 

She warned and I smiled. 

"My favorite flowers are white roses and chrysanthemums...... I hate disorganized people and racist people....... Your turn. " 

"I also hate disorganized and racist people. " I said with a smirk and she glared at me. "I also love spaghetti and meatballs and also love junk food. " 

"I see this is a joke to you so count me out. " 

My goddess said clearly angry and stood up but Collin held her hand as they stood up together. 

"His is not joking because he does love spaghetti and meatballs and also junk food and he his a fitness freak." Collin said and sat down again with her. "He loved sports car especially old sports cars and even has the most expensive and rarest collection of old sport cars and motorcycles in the world..... I think all this is a good start right? ".

My goddess nodded and stood up. 

" Okay...... Now please leave I really have a very bad headache and I want to rest because I have to go to work tomorrow. "

"You don't have to. " I said and she shook her head. 

"I have to because that's my job as their head. " 

We all nodded and stood up to leave but Oliver stopped and turned to her. 

"We haven't discussed a compensation yet. " 

"What." She said folding her arms over her breast making the jingle and my pants tightened seeing it. "Okay fine...... I don't want anything for myself but after the renovations, I want you to personally give all the worker twice their pay as a gift from you and better not let them know it was me. " 

We all looked at her surprised and Oliver nodded and we all left the building into Collin and car. 

"Well that went well...... She is really kind and selfless....... Most women will jump at this opportunity to make some good money and warm your bed. " Oliver said and Collin nodded. 

"Am so sorry bro....... I shouldn't have taken this so far but I am really glad I did because you couldn't take your eyes of her."

I glared at him but he giggled in response. 

"You like her don't you!?. "

I looked away with a smile on my face. 

The next day, she showed up at the house wearing a simple denim jeans paired with a loose blouse and white nike sneakers. 

She looked so cute and adorable in her outfit. 

I stood still the top of the stairs smiling at how she and my nanny had gotten so close that if anyone walked up on them, then they will think they have been friends for a very long time. 

I have been thinking about what Oliver and Collin said about me liking her and I will admit I do and probably am in love with her because I never felt this way with Selina whom I thought I loved but am scared. 

What if she doesn't like me back? 

She always knows about my playboy image and will think am playing her like the other women I have been with. 

Mum always warned me about my lifestyle and today, I can say she was right. 

I moved away and down to the lounge where Gloria and my goddess where sitting having coffee. 

"I thought you already left. " 

"I took the day off because am tired. "

I saw Gloria's eyes widened like a saucer hearing me and I chuckled. 

"Let me guess, he had never taken a break before. " 

My goddess said and giggled and Gloria nodded. 

"Join us. " 

My goddess offered and I sat by her, I was about to pour a cup of coffee for myself when a black SUV pulled up and I stopped shocked knowing who it belongs to. 

"No.... No... No..... What's mum doing here? " 

I thought and held Gloria's hand and whispered to her. 

"Nanny please pretend you know about my relationship with Maya. " 

"What? " 

She yelled out looking back and forth between I and Maya and Maya's with a tight lips and hands folded. 

"Please nanny, mum is almost here. " 

She nodded even though in shock. 

"My boy. " 

My mum called out and I stood up and hugged her but she pushed me out of the way and gasped and moved closer to Maya. 

"You are so beautiful. " 

She said cupping my goddess's face and I had to agree with her. 

"I have been wanting to me you since I found out about you and if not for Collin, I know I wouldn't have known about you. " 

She then hugged Maya who reciprocated with a smile. 

"Please sit Mrs Gandy....... You shouldn't be standing to much in your condition. " 

Maya said and helped my mother sit down. 

"Ohhh you are so considerate unlike someone I know. " 

I rolled my eyes at her words knowing it was directed at me. 

Maya and Gloria giggled as I took a seat closer to Maya. 

"Am really disappointed in you Gloria..... How could you hid this from me and don't pretend you don't know because I know you and him are thick as thieves. " 

My mum said out of the blue and Gloria glared at me and back to my mum. 

"Am so sorry Maribel....... I wanted to tell you about their relationship but David wanted to do it himself and I couldn't take that away from him. " 

"Okay....... I understand...... Now back to the reason am here........ I want all of you at home tomorrow evening for dinner and I won't take no as an answer........ I want to know Maya more and your father is also eager to meet her but I had to rush to the office for some urgent meeting....... So what say you Maya. " 

"I will be honored to join you for dinner. " 

My mum smiled and held Maya's hand and kissed it making her giggle. 

Gloria signalled me to follow her. 

"Excuse...... Let me bring some more tea and snack....... David come help me. " 

She demanded and I gulped thinking my mother had felt the demand in her voice but she was so distracted by Maya and her praising her that she didn't seems to notice. 

I and Gloria entered the kitchen and she crossed her arms with a frown etched on her face. 

"David explain yourself. "

I sighed and told her the entire truth and she was shocked hearing everything. 

"That boy's shamelessness doesn't have an end....... How could he bet on a woman? " 

"I know we all can't stand him after what he and Selina did and mum always feels bad and ashamed because she was raised by him and is his only living relative....... I only forgave him so that it eases mum's guilt which is still don't understand. " 

"I do....... After Noel's parent died she had to take care of him when she herself was barely a teenager just because she didn't want to leave in the foster care system and imagine finding the love of your love and having his son from his previous relationship call you mum only for your nephew to sleep with your son's fiancee....... She is bound to feel guilty because he is her nephew. " 

I nodded and felt bad for my mum and vowed to find a way to make her feel more at ease with Noel's situation.
