“Larry, where are you? My dad said you could explain what has happened or what is happening, but listen; whatever it is, I don’t care. Is my dad alive, yes or no?”
“Sir, I am not sure the Russians have him, and I am trying to locate a destination.”
Dropping the call, Joshua dials Ghost, “do you have any news on where my dad is?”
“Yes, Sir, but it was hard tracing him because they use a VPN, and it's set to change every two seconds, so I am having constant jumps in traffic. One moment America; next moment China and Russia.”
“Ghost, I am not asking for a summary. Do what I pay you to do. Do you know where he is, yes or no?”
“Yes, Sir, his in Bangkok.”
“Bangkok?”
“Yes, Sir. But it was Russians I spoke to.”
“No, Sir. If you heard closely, the voice was set to Russian using google voice.”

The darkness surrounds them as she feels walls closing in on her, “stop,” she screams. There is no response as she sees a hand reaching out to cover her mouth. Suddenly she can not move, and she is sweating. The darkness has blinded her. She feels as if someone is pulling on her clothes as she looks around; she sees no one and hears a baby crying; searching for the baby in total darkness as she trips over something and falls into a puddle of blood. She was looking at the blood on her hands. She is confused about whose blood it is.Then suddenly, her mother appears and takes her hand, “you coming with me now.”Her mother reaches out to her as Winter takes her hand, walking to the light. As she steps into the light, her heart rate drops. “Get the external defibrillators,” as they shock her.“No, no pulse again?”“Still, no pulse,” as her face is now blue, as if she has been suffocated.
Walking up closer to the chair, he sees his dad’s hands we're tied, and he is beaten. His eyes are swollen as Joshua looks down at the chair and notices his dad's hands are strapped to the chair, his fingernails are pulled off, and the blood dripped on the floor. His mouth is open as his head is forward. All ten of his fingernails have been pulled off.Joshua felt angry and sad at the same time. His dad sat there helpless as he loosened his dad’s wrist, “dad?”Joshua takes a cloth and wets it, putting it over his father's head. “Please get me some water.”Lucifer looks up; his eyes are swollen, barely open. He says, “Joshua.”“Dad, it will be fine. Do not talk.”He has never seen his dad in this condition. He feels anger; he feels rage inside of him. Bandaging his dad's hands, he kisses his dad on the forehead. “You’re protected,” he says, “and I will trail everybod
“Sir.”“Speak up, Santiago! Did she die? Who died? What are you talking about?”“Sir, the relatives have been trying to get hold of you, but you missed all their calls due to a weak signal.”“Santiago?”“Yes.”“You are not making sense.”“My apologies, Sir. Winter died with the unborn baby.”“How is that possible?” Joshua is now frantic. “Before I left, she was fine, so what are you talking about?”“Sir, I am looking at the medical report, and it says she died because she did an abortion and the wire was not sterilized. So her body got infected. The sepsis caused her organs to fail.”“Sir, are you there?”Joshua is quiet on the other end, not believing what he hears.“Santiago, I pay you well. Why did you not find a way to let me know?”“Sir, I was assi
“Johnathan and Desmond are behind all this, Sir. They knew about your operations. Also, Sir, there is something you need to know.”“What the fuck is it with you and speaking as if there is some terrible ending to a horror movie?”“Sorry, Sir. But I ran the cameras into your house and saw that Winter was in your house. She was sitting in a sitting room writing on a piece of paper when suddenly there was a knock on your door. She quickly shoved the paper between your cushions, Sir.”“Who was there by my house when she was there, Santiago?”“Desmond and Jonathan, Sir.”“Ok, go on?”“Sir, she was frightened of them when Johnathan entered. She and Johnathan were arguing, and she burst out into tears.”“What were they arguing about?”“About the baby, Sir, about she can not have the baby?”“What?”&ldqu
It's pouring outside. Joshua hears the sound of the rain against the window. The house is quiet. No Rowan, no mother, no Andrea, no Winter. If only he could relive the moments and time he spent with them, the laughter, the tears. His dad is in the room; his father has changed so much. Joshua stands up and then walks to his dad's room.He saw his dad sitting there with the family album. He has never seen his dad this sad. He walks up to his dad. Tiffany comes out of her room and enters the main bedroom where Joshua and their dad are sitting. It's been a while since she was in the main bedroom because of the bad memories. “Hey guys, it's raining nicely outside,” she tries cheering them up as Joshua glances at her and nods his head. Her dad does not look in her direction. It is as if he is not there. She holds her father as he stares blankly into the family portraits. “I got something to tell you and your sister.”“Yes, dad?” He
“Go check who was over there,” Lucifer orders one of the guards.“Boss, there are two kids and a guy.”“What do you mean, two kids and a guy?”“Yes, sir, you certainly got them. They are not moving or breathing.”Immediately Lucifer's biggest fear comes true as he asks Larry to take a look, “Boss, it's Joshua, Tiffany, and Philip.”“WHAT?????” Lucifer rushes over to the bodies and sees Tiffany, not moving, wearing a thick jacket, and Joshua, with a thick jacket, beside her. Both of them are not moving as Lucifer falls to his knees, “what have I done?” He breaks into tears, “this can't be real. I killed my kids.” Philip is lying dead on the floor on his back.Larry is also in tears. So much was lost to people he cared about. Lucifer now turns to Johnathan and Desmond, takes a knife, and cuts Desmond down the middle of his chest as he screams in pai
Driving, it's dark as Tiffany falls asleep in the back seat, but it's a new beginning for Joshua and Tiffany. He was thinking back as Joshua took the long road to the silent valley. While driving, Joshua thinks to himself that what he is doing now is for his sister's sake. His sacrifice is a big step, especially after everything that has happened. Feeling sleepy, Joshua pulls over at a nearby motel. Sitting in the car, it's 1 am as he hears the sound of the wind. Joshua knows he is safe where ever he goes, and he is capable of protecting Tiffany. He adjusts his seatback. The tinted windows help a lot, and no one can look into them. He closes his eyes and thinks back to everything about his dad, mom, and girlfriend. Moving to that place was the worst decision his dad had ever made. Never would he have thought he would end up losing his whole family. Luckily he got Tiffany, and he will protect her no matter what.As he turns on his side, the moon is barely visible through the d
The girls look over in a panic towards the cops. Did they even notice she was signaling for them to assist because of the armed men in the shop? The two cops now sit in the car. Picking the radio, the cops say, “we have a 211 in progress. Can you please send backup? There are four armed men. We have seen people there in the cafe.”“This is dispatch. Please, please stay out. We are sending backup.”“These cops must go,” says the one guy looking out the window.“Did any of you snitch?” He grabs the thirty-year-old guy by the hair, lifting him from his chair, “did you signal?”“No, how could I have? I was all the time right here by you.”He walks to Joshua and pulls his hair, “is it you?” The guy laughs, taking his gun, “open your mouth.”Joshua refuses and is tired of this; Joshua says, “where is the fun in telling the cops?” he grins, &
It's been quite a journey, and much more is to come. Please be patient cause there are about three more books to follow. What will happen to Joshua and Tiffany? Is Juliet really trustworthy, or will she help her sister Andrea?Let us know in the comments what you think is going to happen. We would love to read your idea.Due to school and work, I need a little time to make the next book. But dont worry this summer, the next book will be uploaded. In the meantime, go read Retrograde or The venom in my system; both are amazing books too.Thank you for reading.
“Juliet, what’s wrong?” Tiffany walks up to her.“Nothing,” says Juliet staring up at Tiffany with tears.“Hey, we are here now for you. You're not alone.”She stands up, wiping her tears. “I am sorry, it's just,” she pauses and faintly smiles.Joshua then walks out of the room to inspect the other room. The other room has a queen-size bed with a balcony. Its wooden floor is shiny, as if it has been recently varnished. The long gold curtains blend in with the floor, and the bed has a white comforter. Looking outside on the balcony, it’s dark, but the fresh smell of the rain has him drawn to the view. He goes inside, asking Juliet if he can get that room.“Sure,” she says, “that was my room before.”“Oh, sorry,” says Joshua, “I never realized. I would not mind taking any room.”“No, no, it's ok,” says Juliet, “I
“My brother is an accurate shooter,” says Tiffany as she drives off.“Those are some lousy firemen,” she says as she pulls over and lets Joshua take over the steering wheel.“So, where are we heading?” says Tiffany to Joshua.Joshua looks for an answer, “where ever the wind blows us.”“There is this cabin in the woods; it's quiet and away from everything. It belonged to my grandmother and has been empty since. It has power. It's not so far from where we are. Perhaps we can head there?” Juliet says.“And what about Andrea she will come looking for us there. It will be risky.”Joshua now stops, pulls over at a garage to refill, and goes inside to get snacks. Juliet goes in with him as Tiffany sits back and watches how well they get along, but Tiffany senses there is something wrong with Juliet. She is hiding something.Joshua comes out with refreshments, lots of swe
“What a mess the storm destroyed everything.”Casey walks around as Joshua and Tiffany arrange new transportation, “I wish I could get hold of Santiago,” he says, “my email has been delivered, and there is still no reply. He goes to the deep web and scrolls through the profile of the best hackers to be his eyes and ears; however, he cannot find anyone.“Hey,” Tiffany says, “let's call Sammy.”“Who is Sammy,” says Casey.“It's my best friend at school.”Casey immediately goes to Facebook and goes under Tiffany's friends to see if she can spot Sammy. There is no information on her. “So,” says Casey, “why are you contacting Sammy? I thought you wanted to get rid of the past.”Tiffany glances at Joshua, “well, Sammy, her dad, and my dad were in business together, and Joshua and I were like kids to him. We grew up in their house prac
Laying towards Joshua, she holds her arm around his waist as Tiffany holds onto Casey for warmth. It's dark and storming outside as Joshua and Casey are asleep. Joshua, who was warm earlier, is now cold. He removed the blanket from him to make sure Casey and Tiffany had enough blankets to keep warm while the dog was lying on the floor. Suddenly there is a bang upstairs, and he wakes up, finding Casey's arm around him. As he moves it off, he stands up, peeking through the window, but it's dark, and the window is covered with snow. He goes upstairs and slowly opens the basement door. He climbs through and closes the door behind him as he notices the wood covering the window is completely broken. The wood holding the house together is scattered as he moves toward the door. Looking outside, it's dark and snowy. Their car is tilted upside down in the middle of the road. How much worst could it get? Going back downstairs, he locks the basement door regretting ever setting foot in S
“It's storming outside the window, gusting through Silent Valley.”“The generator at least works,” says Casey, “it's just for us to go and buy food now.”“I think we should first complete the mission. Andrea will come after us if we do not get to her first.”“You're right,” says Joshua, “let's get this over with.”He arms himself. Casey runs up to the door covering it, “what if you don't come back?”“We have been through the worst,” says Tiffany laughing, “please move aside. It's for your and our safety.”“Hold on," says Casey, running to her bag and taking out a gun.“Wait, hold on,” says Tiffany, “I thought you said you can't use a gun?”“About that, I lied. I did not feel like going out in the cold and knew Joshua could handle himself.”“And what about,” Tiff
Turning around, Joshua bends and grabs the gun twisting the person's arm. When he turns around, more inmates stand there, “there are seven, not six of them. Ghost, how did we miss this one?”“I am not sure, Sir. My system never picked up the seventh one. It's weird, though. My system just crashed.”“Hold on, Ghost. So you knew we were here, I take it?” he says to the guy.The guy refuses to answer as Joshua twists the hand more, “fine,” the guy screams as the other six guys now have their guns facing Joshua and Tiffany. The guy who was interrogating Tiffany now steps forward. “So, you the Joshua we were waiting for? The so-called cold and dangerous Joshua, who killed his own Father. You fools, you fell right into our trap. You see, that girl is not a hostage. Steve untie her,” he laughs, “that is your dear friend Andrea. Let's say she was not dead when she fell,” he smiles. He removed the bag from her head, “she is the brains behind this. Since we knew your girlfriend would kill herse
“Relax,” says Tiffany to Casey, “you will be fine.”Casey grins, “I know I have been through the worst.”Joshua and Casey now head off back to bed. “It’s freezing,” Casey says, “I thought this place was hot.”“Well, it's that time of the year when nighttime is cold and the day is sweltering.”Laying next to Joshua, Casey's heart is racing at his body heat. All she wants to do is just hold him.She then turns to face Joshua, making it as if she is asleep.Tiffany whispers to Joshua, “don't you think we should send her back home? Because we are endangering her life.”Joshua turned on his side, facing Tiffany, “let's talk in the morning. It has been a long day.”“Yes, it has,” she smiles, holding her pillow tight.“I miss mom,” she whispers as her eyes start to water, reflecting on all their fantasti
“No, there is nothing to sell,” Tiffany laughs, “it is just we like our space, and I think it's best you go back home.”Casey glances in the mirror to look at Joshua, hoping he will say something. Joshua glances and looks at the road. “So,” she changes the topic, “Tiffany, who is the lucky guy in your life?”“No one,” Tiffany laughs.“Come on, you can tell me.”“Nothing to tell,” she smiles.“And you, Joshua?”“Oh, he has a girlfriend,” Tiffany lies, “they have been dating for years.”“Ok,” says Casey looking down at her phone.Arriving in a silent valley, they can't help to notice how quiet the place is. There are broken windows and no one in sight. “Why is this place so quiet?” Tiffany says.“Well,” says Casey, “there was a virus outbreak that killed half the
