Madison’s POV.

Cole had locked himself in the bathroom since we got back home. On our way home, he kept his face at the taxi’s window. We barely spoke a word to each other. “Cole, please open up “ I banged hard on the bathroom door. Cole ignored my pleadings and turned on the shower. I returned back to the room.

I fell back to bed and thought of all that had happened at dinner. I expected Irene’s reaction and I didn’t expect her to be insensitive to the fact that Cole had never hurt her in any way. I slept off and woke up to Cole next to me the next morning. I sat up immediately and held him. “Baby, how are you?”. Cole raised his head and I saw swollen eyes and dark circles.
