Chapter Hundred and forty one

Madison’s POV

I had tears in my eyes as I slammed the door. I walked straight to my office and started packing my stuff from the office desk and drawer. I boxed them and took one last look at my office before I walked out. The looks on all the company staff were alarming. I was the last person they expected to quit. As I got to the elevator alone, I cried out my eyes before I got to the last floor.

“Maddie” the manager ran after me as I got to the parking lot. I stood still till he walked to me hurriedly. “Maddie, what’s going on? Why are you leaving, I mean like this? “ he asked, trying to catch his breath. “ Mr Edward “, I called softly. “I quit, and please don’t tell me to reconsider because I won’t” I said, snuffling as I opened my car’s door. Edward tried to say more words but I was already inside my car.

I drove back home and pressed the doorbell. Cole opened the door and he was surprised to see me. He helped me with my box and closed the door as soon as I walked
