Dahlia POV.I blink at Silas, my brain catching up with what is happening.“What the fuck, Silas? Why are you here?” I snap at him, screaming up at his face. He looks down sadly. Was he expecting me to run into his damn arms and all would be forgiven? Ha, no!“Dahlia, I told you I would always be there for you and here I am. If it wasn’t for me, you would be face down, frozen and dead in the snow. Why are you here?” he says to me and I release Griffin’s arm as I glare up at Silas as he raises an amused eyebrow at me.“I was defeated. So much for your best student, huh? I failed and Celeste left me. Selene removed the title from me to save my life. I lost everything because of that fucking title and here I am in the wastelands, searching for the savage one only to be found by you.” I tell him, my chest heaving, as I look him up and down in disgust. My fists clenched painfully at my side.Audible gasps sound out from the rogues that surround us. But I pay them no mind. My gaze is on him
Dahlia POV.Slipping in and out of consciousness. Reliving everything over and over again. I groan in pain and black out.Celeste is in my mind taunting me. Selene mocking me. My skin is on fire. My eyes snapping open and I scream out sweat trickling down my back.“Get the healer!” Silas grabs my face, and I look around frantically as I slip back into delirium.“It’s ok Dahlia. You are here with me. Lay back down. You have a fever.” I grip his wrists, shivering in cold and fear.“Si … Silas.” He nods his head at me when I slump back down again. The dreams continue, each twisting and morphing into nightmares.Rodrick pinning me down, laughing manically as he violates me, collared and shackled to a bed. Malachi watching with an evil grin on his face, but his eyes are blank like he is in some kind of trance before he joins in. NO! My pack is in chains. My parent’s dead, their bodies dismembered and scattered around the pack. Venom Fang burning to the ground. Pups laying dead beside their
Silas POV.I watch as Dahlia is slammed down into the snow again. This is not going well at all.“Well, she doesn’t have Celeste now, or have you forgotten that?” Jekyll snaps at me. As I sigh, watching as the female Rai helps Dahlia to her feet. Her lip is split, and she has a black eye.“How can I forget that? She knows this stuff. It is basic training. She has done this before. So why isn’t she doing it now?” I say, watching as Dahlia gets back into position, wiping her lip and spitting blood in the snow.“Because she thinks it was all Celeste that made her stronger.” He tells me and I sigh as I move closer to them. Rai is in position ready to attack when I look at her before I stand in front of Dahlia. and she shifts her gaze from Rai to me.“Widen your stance and plant your feet. Do you remember your training when you were a child? When you didn’t have Celeste?” I ask her because I am curious.“Of course I do.” She says, licking the split in her lip. My eyes dart to her lips, the
Malachi POV.We have widened the search for Alpha Rodrick, but nothing it is like he has fled the planet. It has now been three months since Dahlia became rogue and we are still waiting for her to return.Selene came to the pack to inform Destinee and Titus. Yes, I no longer call them Alphas as they have told me family doesn’t use the titles. Selene told Destinee that Dahlia was safe and alive. That she is training again, and that Celeste left her, but she is with Selene and watching everything that is happening with Dahlia. Apparently Celeste is waiting for the right time to return to her and that they had a falling out. Celeste is sulking. To say we were shocked that Celeste would leave her is an understatement. We still haven’t heard anything from Alpha slimeball, though, and that is concerning. Has he joined sides with Rodrick? Is he dead? Who knows? All we can do is hope he too turns back up.“Something is telling me that his disappearance and Dahlia’s are connected. Do you think
Dahlia POV.Word has spread over the past few weeks that the Pure Rogues are taking out packs. I’ve been sent into towns to keep an eye on the gossip and rumours. Being basically human makes it easier.I walk past a store and stop seeing the breaking news and smile as I watch the rogues taking the latest victim. The Alpha was on his knees, begging for his life. As their higher ranks are next to them in chains. The reporter has said that it would seem history is repeating itself. Then gave a brief summary of the massacre that happened the day after my birth.Tensions are high, and fear is rampant. No-one knows where and when the rogues will strike next and I smirk as I walk away, heading to my destination. All the while, I know there are eyes on me. Wearing a baseball cap with my hair hidden underneath it.My face obscured with oversized sunglasses as I walk through the crowds like I’ve done this before, which I have. My black ripped vest top reveals my tattoo on my arm and a dog tag a
Malachi POV.We all watch the news for any word or sightings of the 2,000 Pure Rogues that are taking out the packs that are in alliance with Rodrick. He is losing wolves left and right and we haven’t even lifted a finger. We do have eyes on the packs and they are not intervening. The Pure Rogues are only targeting the Alphas and higher ranks. The citizens within the packs are not being harmed. The news that had us all holding our breaths came in two days ago from a small town just outside of Clearwater Pack that three unknown male wolves were killed, but no-one saw anything. We all knew it was Dahlia. So it is clear she has that pack in her sights. So we are waiting eagerly for any word.“Shouldn’t we have heard something by now?” Alpha Dex says as he paces the room. We are all at a loss at what to do. As much as each of us is itching to get to her, we can’t. This is her mission, and she needs to do it. We are still no closer to finding Rodrick, and that is putting us all on edge.“I
Dahlia POV.I growl loudly as Celeste takes control. But I pull her back and she recedes back. I gasp for breath when Malachi grabs me.“You’re ok, I’ve got you,” he says to me as he lifts me in his arms and runs with me towards the packhouse. The fire in my blood dies down and I sigh. That was close. That wasn’t my heat. That was her coming back to me.“Mal, you can put me down. I’m ok now. It wasn’t my heat.” but the feel of his bare skin against me is sending tingles everywhere and I sigh in content.“Dahlia!” my mom shouts as she comes closer to me. She stops in her tracks and looks from me to Malachi.“I am happy for you both. You have been given another chance. Don’t fuck it up!” she says before she winks at me and I blush. Oh Goddess, does she have to be so embarrassing?“Daddy!” I snap my head to the side and see Harrison barrelling out of the packhouse, running through the crowd of the Pure Rogues, who all stop and follow his movements. Rai moves to catch him before he falls,
Dahlia POV.Waiting for the bomb to explode in the room seems like forever. Then BOOM!“You have got to be fucking kidding me! We have just got you back and now you want to leave again and give yourself willingly to that sadistic piece of shit? What the fuck are you thinking?” My mom explodes, and so does everyone else in the room. The emotions and tension mounts and I feel the anger build that they are all blaming each other for my choice. Mine, not theirs and not anyone else’s.“SILENCE!” I roar as I release Mal’s hand and they shut up. They all look at me in shock, all except Mal.“When did she return?” Griffin asks, and I fold my arms over my chest.“That is nothing you need to be concerned about. But if you must know, she came back not long after I came home.” I look at Mal and he kisses me on my head and Silas chuckles.“The mate bond is strong between you two. Strong enough to bring Celeste back. Congratulations.” He says as he stands and hugs me and shakes Mal’s hand, but I kn
Dahlia POV.It has been six years since I was crowned Alpha of Alpha’s. Not much has changed, though. I have dealt with a few disputes within other packs which were resolved quickly. Venom Fang and Nightshade are prospering under the rule of Malachi and I.Mom and dad are still around and help out when needed, especially when it comes to date night. They love having the pups. Well, I say pups Harrison is now eleven and Annelise is five. They still have a great relationship but boy do they fight something rotten. I gave Harrison the gift of immortality, much to Mal’s happiness. It was always a worry for us.Celeste was the one who said it was possible, so we both gave him a great gift and so now we never have to fear him dying when he is older. The thought of losing him didn’t sit right with us, especially when his sister and father are now immortals.Harrison is still very protective of her, though, and it is cute. It is safe to say that both are gamers, and it drives us mad at times.
Dahlia POV.Walking back into the arena, the area is filled with chatter, and I swear I heard a few alphas placing bets. Cheeky fuckers!I stand in the middle of the arena, waiting for my opponent. When he enters the arena, I watch him as he smirks at me, all cocky. He is wearing shorts and is bare-chested. I look at Mal in the stands and he is looking at me. He mouths I love you and I mouth it back.I turn and look for Silas’s luna but I don’t see her. Where is she?“You won’t find her. I sent her home.” He says as he comes up to me. I look back at him and he smiles sadly at me. Is he having second thoughts about this?“For what it’s worth, Dahlia, I know you aren’t ready for this responsibility.” He says, and I scoff at him and move away from him.“You seem to forget Silas. I have the advantage over you. I am immortal, so this is pointless. I will give you an out this time. So, for the last time, are you sure you want to die here today?” I say over my shoulder and he shakes his head
Malachi POV.Some of the Alpha’s present gasp at what they are seeing when Dahlia shifts. I am always in awe of Celeste. She is beautiful. Her white fur shines and the blue hue sparkles the same as her eyes. The crescent moon on her forehead shines. My heart is in my throat, and Hyde is wanting to intervene by protecting her. But we can’t get involved. She charges with precision, each swipe of her giant paws hitting the mark. Each bite is more deadly than any other. All three try to attack her at once, and we all watch her dodge and retaliate. It’s like a ballet, her movements fluid and strong. She grabs the red wolf, the delta, and snaps his neck. Shaking her head fiercely, coating her pristine white fur red. Dropping him as she is tackled. They both bite and scratch her, but she just stands there and Destinee chuckles.“The size of her, she won’t feel it. Look at her face. She looks bored.” She says and I smile when Celeste rips the brown wolf the gamma off of her and rips his throa
Dahlia POV.Walking into the arena of the Supernatural Council Headquarters. I hold my head high. I am the last to arrive. The place is filled to the rafters with alphas from all over the world. The chatter dies down as I step into the middle of the arena a few feet away from the main podium, where there are five thrones facing me, at the moment they are vacant.I look at the stands and see my family sitting there. Mal looks at me with concern, but I just nod my head at him. There is no point in both of us being nervous. The doors in front of me open and everyone stands up as the members of the Supernatural Council enter the arena. Each one looks at me, and I bow in acknowledgement. Showing them the respect they deserve. They walk up to the side and each stops at their seats. They all sit and motion for the rest in the arena to take theirs, only I am left standing.“We, the Supernatural Council, are here today to preside over two issues. One being the trial and sentencing of the forme
Dahlia POV.It has been a month since little Annelise made her appearance into the world, and everything has been hectic since. But we are in a routine now. Life has been good. Well, that was until this morning when the Supernatural council arrived to speak to me.“We need to prepare you for the title ceremony, Dahlia. We will also be sorting the trial at the same time.” Oh, I nearly forgot about the trial. With everything that has happened, it slipped my mind.“Very well, we will do both at the same time. But the trial should be done first.” I say and they nod in agreement.“When should we do this?” Mal asks from the side and I know he is itching for this to be over with, especially since we found out that it was Rodrick who helped Krystal and Sampson to destroy the packs.“In three day’s time. You will need to come to the Supernatural Council Headquarters. The trial will happen in the arena. All the alphas in the world have been called to attend. Any official challenges will be made
Malachi POV. The bubble burst when her water broke. But as stubborn as Dahlia is, she refused to leave the wedding. Saying she had hours yet. She wasn’t having contractions, so until she does then we will head inside. Everyone present has congratulated us, but I am too focused on my wife, who could go into active labour at any moment. Hyde is going crazy, wanting to take her away, but Celeste has growled in warning a few times. The doctor is here and is monitoring Dahlia. She has told us everything is ready and in place. She is also ready when we are. Dahlia is walking around and I know she is close. I take her hand in mine and she smiles at me. “Anything?” I ask her, and she shakes her head, but she is still smiling. We are mingling and her Alpha team and their Lunas are looking at her in concern the same way as I am. “Ok, baby, I think it’s time we head in.” I say to her and I wait for her to growl, but she nods her head. We have stayed for two hours. “I’m taking her inside.” I
Dahlia POV.The nerves have begun to go haywire. Today is the wedding. I have lost count of how many times I have been sick. Sitting looking like a panda from lack of sleep as my hair is being curled and natural make-up was applied hiding the bags under my eyes, I fidget with my fingers on my lap. Why am I so damn nervous?“Stop, babe, everything will be fine.” Cel sounded tired. Well, I suppose she will be. We only have two weeks before we are due to welcome our pup. Our little princess. I smile at that.“What’s got you so happy?” my mom asks as she watches me in the mirror as Kendra and gran finish making me look more healthy.“That my daughter will be here soon and I finally get to have my happy ever after.” I say and she smiles at me as she nods her head. Her eyes change colour and Aura is now watching.“I can’t believe it. My pup is not only getting married but will be a mommy soon. I can’t wait to see her.” She says, and I chuckle at her. Emotions are high right now.“There you’
Dahlia POV.It has been four days since the incident, and the room has been completely changed. The bed replaced. What should have been a happy occasion was overshadowed by deceit and death. But no matter, we have a couple of things to look forward to. Like the wedding and the birth of our daughter. So here I am sitting in the living room having what gran calls afternoon tea. While we talk about the wedding. I was shocked when mom brought a huge binder filled with wedding ideas.Apparently she has waited for this moment since I was born and so she started working on this. My heart fell out of my ass when she showed me what she had put together. I know she was joking, or maybe only half joking, but still it was sweet and not all her ideas are bad ones.“Here, drink this and you need to eat more.” My gran says as she passes me a glass of peach iced tea and a little plate with finger foods on it. I chuckle as I lean back into the cushions and take small bites and small sips of my drink.
Dahlia POV.Last night was amazing. We made love under the meteor shower and let our wolves do their own thing. They played, they fought and then they too went at it like rabbits. I was grossed out, but I just blocked her out.Waking up this morning under a canopy of leaves, the sunlight flits through the gaps and, for once, I don’t feel anxious about not being in my nest. So I think that is progress. The only thing that is worrying me is getting back up off the forest floor.Malachi chuckles beside me, and I lift my head from his chest and look down at him.“I will help you up,” he says and I nod my head, my cheeks heating slightly that he was inside my head.“I suppose we better make our way back to the packhouse.” He says as he stretches and yawns. I move and sit up. The light catches the ring on my finger. I study it and I smile softly at it.Mal told me last night that the ring was his mothers and that she would have wanted me to have it. I was honoured to have a piece of her wit
