Dahlia POV.

I growl loudly as Celeste takes control. But I pull her back and she recedes back. I gasp for breath when Malachi grabs me.

“You’re ok, I’ve got you,” he says to me as he lifts me in his arms and runs with me towards the packhouse.

The fire in my blood dies down and I sigh. That was close. That wasn’t my heat. That was her coming back to me.

“Mal, you can put me down. I’m ok now. It wasn’t my heat.” but the feel of his bare skin against me is sending tingles everywhere and I sigh in content.

“Dahlia!” my mom shouts as she comes closer to me. She stops in her tracks and looks from me to Malachi.

“I am happy for you both. You have been given another chance. Don’t fuck it up!” she says before she winks at me and I blush. Oh Goddess, does she have to be so embarrassing?
