Six months later
Lyron's POV My life as an agent was hectic given how Amil behaved but he seemed different over the months that had passed, like he was beginning to acknowledge me. I guess, I was doing my job to the best of my ability and maybe even beyond. “ Is it really alright to live here, onii-chan?” Leilani, my little sister asked with cute big eyes. “ Of course it is. I wouldn't bring you guys here if it wasn't,” I patted her head as we walked into our new apartment. It was a fully furnished two bedroom apartment located in a highrise building. Of course there was no way I could afford such a place so it was all done by Amil, the very person who I thought hated me with all passion. Well, he did do it for his own convenience since he preferred if we lived closer to each other. I think he made the decision after I picked him up late when he had a commercial to shoot. I couldn't bring myself to tell him that I was beaten up by loan sharks so I lied about falling down the stairs. I felt a tug on my pants - it was Lance. He was my younger brother and older twin of Leilani. “ Yes?” “ Don't we have loans to pay? So why are you spending so much on an apartment, nii-chan?” His words stabbed me in the chest like arrows. He was way too blunt. “ Do you really not trust your big brother enough to ask that?” I felt like crying just thinking of how he didn't trust me enough to understand our financial situation. This is all that bastard's fault, if he hadn't left us with his loans, I would have been able to give the twins a better life. “ It's not that I don't trust you, nii-chan. How do I put it? We're too broke to be living luxury lives,” he needed to tone down on his honestly because this felt like a direct assault to me. “ Wouldn't leaving our old house put you in a difficult situation? What if the loan sharks come looking and you're not there? They could easily assume that you ran off with their money.” How old was this kid again? Wasn't he supposed to be nine so where's the insight coming from? “ If your boss gave you the apartment and you accepted because you want to I and Leilani better lives, then you should probably reject the offer,” he stared blankly into nothing as he spoke. “ I and Leilani wouldn't care where we live as long as you're alright. I don't want you doing risky things,” he looked at me with worried eyes. My gaze softened and so did my smile. “ You're so adorable, what am I going to do with you?” I ruffled his hair. “ Stop it,” he hit my hand as his face turned red from embarrassment. He hates when I treat him like a child. “ Don't think too much about it, I know how much you and Leilani worry about me so I won't do anything reckless or risky,” I patted his head with a proud smile on my face. “ Stop being so mature, you're going to miss the entire essence of childhood at this rate,” I nagged. “ But I want to be,” he was definitely a stubborn one. “ Am I late to the party?” Ryan popped up from nowhere. “ Where did you come from?” “ It's Dumb Ryan,” Lance didn't hide how unexcited he was to see him. “ You can at least pretend to be happy to see me,” Ryan sighed. “ And why do you keep calling me that. I'm just as old as your brother,” he chose to bicker with a child. “ It's because you're dumb and all you think about is women and living recklessly,” Lance squinted his eyes. “ I can't believe he just said that to my face. Who does he take after because you certainly don't have similar personalities?” He turned to look at me. Why was he bringing me into their argument? “ I obviously take after my brother, baaka,” Lance insulted. He just called Ryan stupid. “ Your brother is like an angel and you?? You're like a little devil I wanna teach a lesson,” Ryan laughed hysterically while I and Lance simply stared at him. Was he trying to intimidate Lance? Because it wasn't working. “ Nii-chan, I'm going to look around. I'll leave the both of you to talk,” he excused himself and headed towards the house hallway leading to the bedrooms. “ Cat's got your tongue? You feel intimidated now, don't you?” Ryan laughed in self-acclaimed triumph. “ What are you talking about? I feel like I'm going to reduce my IQ if I keep talking to you,” Lance was always quick with a comeback. Before Ryan could say anything else, Lance walked off. “ Why didn't you say anything? You were really finding this amusing, weren't you?” Ryan directed his frustration at me instead. “ As much as I'd like to lie to soothe your ego, I can't so yeah, it was amusing,” I answered while replying to a text from Zara. She had explained that wouldn't be able to come for my housewarming but she'll definitely come see me soon. “ Now I really think he took after you,” he sighed. “ This is what you get for bickering with a child. You've been bickering with him since the time we first got to know each other,” I pointed fingers. It was totally his fault. “ I brought snacks and drinks by the way. I really can't believe your boss did something like that for you,” he leaned closer. “ There's nothing gossip worthy about this. Amil simply did it for his convenience,” I sighed. “ He's not the type to care about others so stop letting your mind stray,” I stated firmly. To be honest, when Amil begun warming up to me, I nearly confused it for interest and somehow ended up catching feelings. “ What am I doing right now?” I banged my head against the dining table to calm my heart and to stop myself from falling deeper than I already have. “ Yo! You're smoking hot right now, I mean, literally,” Ryan was confused by my sudden reaction. “ Are you alright?” “ Yes, I am. Just give me a moment,” I indicated with my hand without raising my head to look at him. If I did, he might see through me and guess that I like Amil. “ Who the fuck is that?” My fragile heart skipped at an overlay familiar voice that approached me. I raised my head and looked towards the direction of the voice, it was Amil and he came in with plastic bags. “ W-what are you doing here, sir?” I stuttered. My temperature shot up and so did the colour of my face. “ Are you sick? You look a little under the weather,” he scanned me with suspicious raised brows. “ It's probably just the heat. It's getting warmer,” I laughed awkwardly and everywhere fell silent. Did I do something wrong? “ Ahem… You do know the air conditioner is on, right?” Amil cleared his throat and all I could do was die from secondhand embarrassment. “ Ahhh… that's right,” I mumbled. “ I'm Ryan, Lyron's close friend. You must be his boss, nice to meet you,” Ryan introduced himself with his hands stretched out for a formal handshake. “ Anyway, I just came here to let you know that I need you to clear up my schedule for today. We're both taking a break today so you don't have to worry about having to attend to me today,” he totally ignored Ryan and just went on to tell me what he had to. This was exactly why I had to carry my feelings for him to my grave because I know I'd be the one who'd be broken in the end. That was simply the sort of person he was. “ Are you going anywhere this evening?” I asked seeing how dressed up he was. Well, he was always dressed up honestly but it was more obvious when he had to go out. “ Yes, I'm hanging out with some acquaintances and some friends,” he answered which was a surprising difference from when I first met him but I also knew this was as far as he would answer me. “ Alright, have a lovely evening then,” I rose to my feet and bowed my head. “ Thank you for coming over as well,” I added. “ You said you had siblings right? Give this to them,” he handed me the plastic bags before leaving. That was definitely weird. “ I don't think I've ever hated someone as much as I hate your boss. To think I was even a fan of his, what a rip off,” Ryan was genuinely angry. “ As much as I understand where you're coming from, I absolutely cannot badmouth my boss. He's the reason why I'm living,” I broke into cold sweat as I mumbled rapidly. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Five hours later A notification popped up on my phone as I stepped out of the bathroom. I had put the twins to sleep and also put a drunken Ryan to sleep since he was being nothing but a nuisance. It was a message from Amil. He was drunk and needed me to come pick him up. I felt like a woman in her mid forties having to deal with these four. I wrote a note and stuck it to the fridge before I left the house to pick up Amil. Getting to the lounge, everything from the building to the interior was simply luxury but I kept getting weird stares all the time. I even had both men and women catcalling me. “ I had better ask for extra pay for having to put up with this,” I muttered to myself as the attendant should me into a VIP room that Amil and his friends had booked. “ Hello, I'm here to pick Amil up if you'd excuse me,” I politely said the moment I walked in. I had taken suppressants before coming but having to deal with this amount of pheromones from dominant alphas was beyond difficult. I needed to hurry up and leave. “ You're pretty gorgeous for a Beta, nearly assumed you were a girl,” one of the only female Alphas in here flirted with me as I raised Amil to his feet. “ I get that a lot, thank you,” I managed to say, doing my best to sound natural. “ Maybe we can meet up next time if you'd like,” she winked. Argh, what was this lady's problem? “ Urm, I don't think I…” “ Then how about me? I would definitely treat you right if you want me to and I don't discriminate when it comes to sex partners. It doesn't matter if you're male or female,” one of the male Alphas flirted as well. I had seen him before but now wasn't the time to waste precious time. I was on the verge of blacking out. “ That won't be possible, sorry to disappoint. I have to take Amil home,” I excused myself without giving them another chance to talk to me. I got Amil into a cab and joined him at the backseat. Who knew he'd be this heavy? I took the opportunity of him sleeping to take a good look at his face. “ I already knew just how handsome he is but seeing him up close is a lot different,” I muttered to myself as I felt butterflies in my stomach. I should really get a hold of my emotions. I was finally able to get him into his penthouse. “ We're home now so I'll just lie you down before leaving,” I talked to him. Thank goodness my apartment was just the floor beneath. In the blink of an eye, I found myself locking lips with Amil. Hold on! Did he just kiss me? “ Sir, you can't just around kissing people,” I said trying to push him away but he was a lot stronger than me. He kissed me harder, his tongue subtly finding it's way into my parted lips. His hands, he used to grope me. A moan escaped my lips the moment his hands groped my butt. “ Sir…Hngh… If you keep this up, we might,” I was beginning to feel hot and my lewd side was getting the best of me. I can easily control myself but his pheromones were clouding my sense of reasoning and making me horny. “ Then let's do it,” my eyes widened as he shamelessly accepted it. Before I could oppose, my pants were by ankle and he took out my dick and began to rub in upward and downward movements with his hand. At this point, I had lost all my sense of reasoning and simply yearned for his touch. I had succumbed to his pheromones.Lyron's POV “ I'm about to come down with a headache because of you. What do you mean you've been avoiding him for over two weeks now?” Zara pinched her nose bridge. “ I can't bring myself to face him after that night,” I rested my head on the desk. “ He looks like he's about to kill me because it's kinda obvious that I'm avoiding him,” I pulled on my hair. “ I'd honestly feel the very same way of the guy I slept with suddenly starts ignoring me after that especially if we have to see each other on a daily basis,” she sipped from her drink. “ So what do you think I should do?” I needed her advice at the moment. “ It's obvious, hear what he has to say,” she shrugged. “ But what if it's not something I want to hear? You know how Amil is,” I sighed. I was worried about how he would react and if he'd find a way to blame me for what happened. That was my first time as well and I honestly enjoyed having sex with him but I can't guarantee he felt the same
Lyron's POV “ I didn't think this would happen,” I cried. “ I told you before to kill whatever feelings you had for him and you went ahead to develop it,” Zara was annoyed I knew. “ So what are you going to do? You can just abort it you know,” she reminded. Three months had passed since I and Amil had sex when our rut and heat clashed. I had signed the contract after the three days of non-stop sex and Amil had become a lot nicer to me. He was more considerate of my feelings and opinions and would even let me throw tantrums - it was as though we were dating but I only came to realize that I was the one deluding myself after his engagement to Skylar, a top model and the only daughter of a well known investor was announced. Even after his engagement was announced, we still kept having sex and he would always say the sweetest things to me afterwards while I was completely shattered inside. Still, I was happy to see that he wasn't interested in his fiancee and kept
Amil's POVTwo weeks later I threw a vase to the ground towards my new agent. She shuddered in fear. “ This won't do, you know. I'm the one who broke the news to you so why are you taking it out on the new girl?” Steve sighed. “ I'm the one to decide who I take out my anger on,” I retorted. “ And this is the reason nobody wants to work for you,” he sighed before taking a seat. “ You may go, Emma,” he dismissed her. Looking at me with a trembling body, she bowed her head before excusing herself. “ Well, I never asked them to work for me either,” I snapped. “ Then why are you so bothered by the fact that Lyron left? Shouldn't you be relieved that he quit? I thought that was your original plan, what made it change?” Though his face showed no sign of slight, I knew how he truly felt. “ That doesn't matter. I told you to look for him and you come back telling me that you haven't been able to find him,” “ Do I look like
LYRON The plane touched down at Heathrow airport. The seven hours spent felt like eternity and to be honest I felt a little tired already. “ Are you feeling alright, Lyron?” Zara walked up to me. “ Not entirely but it's not that bad,” I admitted. “ It's your first time flying so that much is expected,” she tapped my shoulder. “ If you feel sick or strange, do let me know. We can't stress you or the baby,” she smiled. “ Thank you,” I smiled barely. Zara was extremely considerate and caring and I couldn't have asked for a better friend but I was still hung up on what I and Amil shared. To be frank, I still had feelings for him and if he were to reach out to me now, I'm not sure if I'd be able to not walk away. “ Onii-chan!” Leilani screamed as she ran away from Ryan who was goofing around and bugging both she and Lance. “ Ryan keeps tickling me,” she hugged my legs and reported to me. “ Ryan, aren't you a little too old for thi
LYRON Zara paused in her footsteps and everyone turned to look at her. I glanced at her then at Jason. Were they somehow acquainted? “ Do you two know each other?” I was forced to act seeing how much Zara avoided looking Jason in the eye. “ Yes… No!” They chorused. Their responses different. “ Do you or do you not know each other?” I raised my brow, staring at her suspiciously. “ I don't know him personally but we've met due to my line of work before. Isn't that right, Jason?” She finally looked at him. “ … I guess so,” he hesitated before answering. “ See? It's nothing serious,” Zara laughed awkwardly. I knew something was up but I'd trust her to handle her own affairs and if she ever feels the need to tell me the truth about their relationship, I know she would. “ I'll show you up to your room,” the butler brought us back to our reality - moving in. “ Alright, thank you,” I appreciated. “ I'll help you unpack,” Zara s
LYRONSix years later The plane touched down at JFK International Airport. It was bustling and rowdy as always. It's been six years since I last stepped into the US, yet it felt both familiar and foreign. My mind went to Amil, he most likely hadn't moved so it wasn't entirely impossible to not bump into him so I'd do everything to prevent that from happening. “ Daddy?” Eleo tugged at my pants. “ Yes, Lee?” I snapped back into reality hearing my son calling out to me. He was the cutest five-year old. “ Is it necessary to keep this on?” He pulled at his face mask looking sulky. “ Just bear with daddy a little bit okay? You won't need to wear it when we get into the car,” I kneaded his soft cheeks. “ But it's uncomfortable,” he complained. “ I know but you don't like when those people with cameras show up, do you?” I tried my best to convince him. I was yet to reveal Eleo to the public and I doubt I planned to do that anytime soo
LYRON I got ready for the signing of my endorsement contract. After getting dressed, I headed downstairs. “ You were quick,” Ryan who seemed to have been waiting for me said. “ I can't leave a wrong impression, can I?” I asked rhetorically. “ I guess, you can't. Where's Eleo?” He searched for Eleo with his eyes. “ He's still asleep,” I answered. “ He's like an angel when he sleeps. He's an angel as well when he's awake but you get,” I doted. “ You're such a mom,” Ryan heaved. “ Well, that's not a lie,” I mean, I did give birth to him. “ Has the nanny come?” I asked Ryan. “ How would I know? I don't live with you,” he slumped into a more comfortable position on the chair. I went to the kitchen to see if the nanny had come but she hadn't. “ That's odd,” I muttered. She wasn't the type to run late. “ Lyron!” Ryan called out to me from the living room. I briskly walked over to see why he was calling me. “ The nanny is here,” he said once I was in the living room
Putting on my shades, my bodyguards opened the door of the van for me. “ I hope I don't have to deal with reporters today,” I groaned as I stepped out. “ I made sure no one knows about it but I'd be lying to say i can prevent reporters from finding out,” Ryan said as I stood side by side with him. My bodyguards shielded us from the reporters as we walked into the company building. Getting into the company, I was welcomed by a lady who introduced secretary of the vice chairman. She took us to the VIP elevator and we headed straight for the conference room where we'd be using for the endorsement deal. I was somewhat nervous because this contract signing would solidify my position as a global sensation. I was famous in Europe but not as much in North America so this was an important deal for me. “ He's here, sir,” the secretary announced as we walked into the conference room. “ It's an honor to meet you personally, Vice president,” I bowed my h
LYRON My eyes widened in surprise. What did he mean by that? His sisters and parents looked just as surprised. “ What do you think you're doing, Amil?” His mother looked at him terrified. “ So now you decide to talk,” he scoffed. “ If you had stood against grandad back then, our family would have been perfect but you couldn't care less what could have happened to me as long as you were secured!” “ A-Amil…” his mom's eyes were teary. “ Just forget about it. I didn't come here to talk about our messed up family,” Amil tried to regain his cool. “ If you won't accept how I feel about Lyron, then it would be in your best interest to find another heir because the moment I'm walking out this door, I'm not longer a Romanov,” Amil wasn't making empty threats. “ Amil,” I whispered. “ Lyron, let's go,” he got to his feet and grabbed me by the hand.“ Amelia, please tell your PA to bring Eleo because we're leaving,” he was really a
LYRON The blonde lady turned out to be Lyron's oldest sister. She finally let go of him and Lyron's other sister came over to meet him. She was the calm one, who seemed to have her feelings put together. “ It's good that you're here. Though, I would have prepared an actual brunch than a judgment table,” she heaved after hugging Amil briefly. “ Amelia, ” their mom called out her name in a reprimanding tone.“ You're going to scare Lyron,” she added. “ But I'm not lying,” she shrugged as she walked back to her seat, followed by Alisa. I, Amil, Eleo and Jason took our seat. “ I did not expect to see the son of McClain family here. What a surprise,” Mr. Charles expressed his surprise. How did he know Jason? “ I'm surprised you know me, sir,” Jason maintained a professional tone. “ Wouldn't it be more surprising if I didn't know members of your family? I've been in this industry for years now, it's only right that I know
LYRON We pulled into one of the largest private estates I've seen… and I've only seen two. I was well aware that Amil came from the wealthiest and most influential family but seeing this display was a reminder of his status. I often forget since he's in the entertainment industry rather than being the pampered heir of the Romanov estate. “ Are you nervous?” Amil asked as he squeezed my hand. “ I wish I could tell you I wasn't,” I kept my eyes on my feet. It wasn't exactly that I lacked self-esteem but that I was becoming awfully aware that I wasn't in Amil's league. “ It's going to be fine so don't worry about how the meet up is going to go. After all, the result would be the same,” he smiled at me. “ I'll try not to think about it too much,” I really needed his reassuring smile. The driver got our door for us and we got down from the car. Eleo who rode in the same car as Jason ran to us. My eyes fell on a stern, middle-aged man who d
LYRON Christmas was soon approaching and as much as I anticipated spending Christmas for the first time with Amil as his partner, I was nervous since we were going to meet his family on Christmas Eve.I forgot to mention that it was Christmas Eve so my nervousness was more than justified. “ You look like you could die at any moment,” Zara sighed as she sat on the bed, watching the maids help me with my outfit for the day. “ You shouldn't be saying such scary things to someone who's already anxious,” I wished she'd stop teasing me. “ That's all the more reason I should tell you how you look because you're too stiff. How are you going to be when you get to his home if you're already this tense?” She got to her feet and walked towards me. She adjusted my tie. “ I knew I should have insisted more or better still forced myself against your will to accompany you both,” she frowned, worried about me. “ I just wanted I and Amil to handle things by o
LYRON “ The question is actually what am I not doing here?” She snapped her fingers confidently. “ I don't think it's weird for me to be in my boyfriend's home,” she beamed. I just knew how much she has been dying to use that. “ That's not even what I meant,” I sighed. I just didn't think he'd come with her or maybe it was more that I had wished he hadn't since I wanted to discuss with him privately. “ Anyway, why are you here late? Did something happen?” She was always so quick to know when something was wrong with me.“ Don't tell me….gasps… did Amil do something?” She hastily assumed. “ I can't believe that's where your mind went first,” I heaved.“ You know he's not like that anymore.” “ Better safe than sorry, you know. You can never be too sure,” she averted her eyes as she said the last part. I knew she meant no harm because it was typical of her to tease and make fun of others but I wasn't exactly in the mood tonight. “ Zar
LYRON “ Are you guys really going to do that? Not to be presumptuous but aren't you worried that his family won't accept you?” Ryan got comfortable in his seat as he sipped from his cup. “ To be honest, I know they won't accept me,” I rested my chin on my hand. “ Are you being for real right now?” Ryan looked more speechless than bothered now. “ It's not like I can lie to myself. Most wealthy families prefer inter-dorminant marriage or whatnot,” I shrugged. “ So what are you going to do if they don't want you with their son? Amil is the heir to the family's wealth so I'm nearly a hundred percent sure that his marriage partner is of relevance to them,” Ryan said. “ If I can't change their mind that I'm the one for their son, then we could just marry anyway without their blessings. Does that count as eloping?” I took my eyes off my drink to ask. “ I don't know how you can be chill about this, not to mention that it's unlike
DYLAN I began high school at one of the most prestigious schools in Italy. This time though, I was known to be from the famous Houghton family. So, I had lots of girls crushing on me when I introduced myself in front of the whole class. I sat down by the window side at the back, feeling everyone's eyes on me. Some of my class mates began approaching me after the first period. Not like I was interested in talking to them, but I didn't snub them either. I started to feel uncomfortable when they began circling me, I excused myself at some point because I was fed up with the unnecessary attention and questions. As I walked out of the class, a girl stood in my way, blocking my path from leaving the classroom. Everyone seemed to not like her for some reason, I snapped my head up at her after she broke the silence. “ You…you were the guy outside the convenience store, right?” she asked, squinting her eyes closely at me. I was so surprised to find her here but also relieved to
DYLAN I was escorted out in two black cars to the arcade as that was where I told them I was heading to. All heads snapped towards his direction as soon as the car pulled into the driveway of the arcade, one of the reasons why he didn't want to be escorted, he would have been doing just fine all by himself. “ You all can wait here, no need to go with me inside, it would draw unnecessary attention and I wouldn't be comfortable with that,” I said to my bodyguards. “ Sorry young master but it's your Mom's order that we follow you wherever it is you're heading to,” one of them spoke up, fueling my anger and the turmoil brewing inside of me. I clenched and unclenched my fist in anger and began to cuss at my Mom. She sure knew that I would find a way to escape her and that was why she had bodyguards following me everywhere. How could he forget how smart and clever she was? After much wondering, I eventually caved in and pretended like I was okay With the idea of them following me
DYLAN It's been a week since I was literally forced to come spend the holidays with my mom. I got out of my room and slowly trudged down the stairs and walked into the dining room to come have breakfast with my mom. “ Good morning, Mom,” I greeted her. As I walked into the dining room. I pulled out a chair and sat down while facing her. “ Good morning, son,” she answered while scrolling through her phone. As soon as she clapped her hands, maids began to emerge with bowls of food in their hands. “ Slept well,” she asked. “ Of course I did, mom,” I began to eat after the maid served me. Some minutes passed before she continued talking again. “ So Dylan, have you thought of the highschool you'd like to attend?” She asked me, which made me to stop eating. What does she mean by that? “ I don't get it, Mom. Beverly of course,” I said while chuckling slightly and resumed eating. She chuckles softly. “ Silly boy,” she muttered to herself and handed a l
