I took a deep breath as I walked into E&E entertainment industry. It building was tall and massive and the interior was luxuriously furnished making me gasp. This wasn't my first time entering the company building since I used to work here as a part-time janitor but I only got to enter at night during my shift. To think that one day I'd be able to work regularly here was definitely a dream come true. “ You must be Lyron,” an older man on black sweat pants and matching sweat shirt approached me. He had bodyguards with him. “ Yes, I am,” I answered nervously. I had barely made it to the receptionist desk before he walked up to me. Could he be a celebrity? He didn't look the part though and wasn't he too old to be one? I can't really wrap my head around this. “ Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Steve, the manager of the star you're going to be working for,” he stretched out his hand and I shook it nearly too quickly. “ Nice working with you, Manager Steve,” I bowed my head as I shook his hand. “ Just call me Steve, everyone does. You're a tad too respectful, ain't bad though,” he wore an amused smile. Ryan had told me before that I needed to work on how unnaturally polite I was since it could be inconveniencing to others. My dad is Japanese and my mom is Arab so I tend to act unnecessarily respectful even though I was living in the US and have been living here all my life. “ I'm sorry,” I apologized. “ No need to apologize. Come with me, I'll show you your boss,” he led the way and I simply followed. As we walked through the lobby towards the elevator, strong pheromones hung in the air. It was no surprise that a lot of celebrities here were Alphas. “ They should learn to control it more. It's disgusting throwing ones pheromones at others,” I muttered underneath my breath. “ Did you say something?” Steve turned back. “ No, not a word,” I smiled. We stepped into the elevator and headed for the top floor. It was rather quiet. “ You're the one Arnold referred for the interview right? He wouldn't stop putting in good words for you,” Steve broke the silence. “ Is that so?” I asked awkwardly. “ It seems he dotes on you a lot. He also mentioned how pretty you were, I just thought he was hyping you but after meeting you, I don't think he accurately described how gorgeous you look…Ahem, excuse me,” he cleared his throat after realizing how awkward that was. “ It's alright. I don't find what you said weird at all, I get that a lot,” I assured him. I was used to being called gorgeous or pretty even though I was a boy. Due to being mixed raced, I had a unique and feminine look. My mom was half Arab and half Norwegian while my dad was Japanese. I took on both features but my mom's genes were dominant. I had turquoise eyes like my mom and double eyelid and even light brown wavy hair but I took my dad's skin tone. I guess it's the only thing worth remembering them for. “ You'd do pretty well as a model or even a celebrity. Have you ever considered that?” He asked. “ A singer, yes but I don't think that's important now. Some dreams best remain dreams,” I replied hoping we wouldn't delve deeper. “ I understand,” he simply nodded and didn't talk about it again. I was grateful for his understanding honestly. “ Do you know who you're going to be working with?” He changed the topic. “ I'm not exactly sure but Arnold did tell me that he was a top singer,” I added the little I knew. I didn't want to sound ignorant. “ Have you heard of Amil Cougar?” He asked. “ I think so,” I lied, even my voice couldn't hide it. “ Haaa, this is going to be difficult. I expected you to have some background knowledge so you would know what to expect,” he groaned, rubbing his temple. Was it that bad that I didn't know who he was? I should start listening more to entertainment news. The elevator chimed the moment we arrived at our destination. We got off and I could feel my heart beating hard against my chest. Steve knocked on a set of large doors, “ I'm coming in,” he said pushing the doors open and letting us in. A gasp escaped my lips as I stepped inside. It's interior was designed more like a room than an office. Is this what it feels like to be on top of the entertainment ladder? “ I thought you said you had something doing, why are you suddenly here?” A striking blonde man my age walked towards us. His piercing green hunter eyes were definitely something to behold. He was simply a work of art. He was fit and muscular but also had a slender body. He was definitely taller than me. His neutral eyes turned into an obvious frown as his eyes rested on me. “ Who the hell is that?” He questioned Steve. The atmosphere was heavy with an oppressive and overbearing level of pheromones. I had met Alphas a few times but none had ever had such an overpowering level of pheromone before. Was he a dominant alpha? “ He's going to be your new agent starting from today. I don't want any objections,” Steve briefed him. “ Why do we need to hire him? Can't you work as both my manager and my agent?” He wasn't pleased at all. “ I'm not about to die from work stress, kiddo,” Steve stood his ground. “ Why do you bother going through the stress of getting me an agent when none last?” He argued. “ Well, I wouldn't need to go through all these stress if you kept your attitude in check. You're the reason they keep leaving,” he poked his chest. I could feel the heat of the argument, I think the bodyguards felt the same way I did. “ It's not my fault they keep making mistakes,” he scoffed. I didn't like him one bit already. “ Stop whining like a child and accept it,” Steve snapped. “ The kid's smart, he's a beta and he's pretty hard-working and diligent. I don't think you'll regret having him on the team,” Steve assured. His eyes left Steve and rested on me. He scanned me and bored through my soul with his eyes, I could feel sweat beads forming on forehead. “ Fine, leave us alone then. I need to talk to him privately,” he ordered them. “ Don't you think of threatening him,” Steve said as he got up. “ I'm not some kinda thug, you know,” he looked away. Everyone vacated the office leaving the both of us behind. I thought I will better since he suppressed his pheromones but having him stand before me was more than enough reason to have trouble breathing. Everything about him was intimidating. “ I-Is there something I can help you with?” I chose to break the silence. I shook and stuttered as I spoke. He approached me quietly without replying, I wish he would at least say something. “ You're an Omega, aren't you?” He grabbed me by the shirt and lifted my feet off the floor. “ You can't just make such bold assumptions,” I struggled to get away from his grip. “ Bold assumptions? Tsk. You're an amusing one,” he snickered before releasing his pheromones everywhere. I started having troubles breathing, coupled with dizziness and nausea. I think I'm going to pass out. He let go of me just in the nick of time and suppressed his pheromones while I remained on the floor trying to catch my breath and calm my heart down. “ I-I'm not an Omega,” I brought myself to say whilst in pain. “ Did you think I wouldn't be able to tell just because your scent is faint? You put too much trust in your cologne camouflage honestly,” my eyes widened at his words. How could he have accurately known? “ For you to have been able to fool everyone around that you're a Beta, you must be a pretty good liar. I wonder what else you're hiding,” he squatted and looked down at me struggling to breathe. “ I was going to find a way to fire you but you seem rather interesting. I want to keep you for the time being and find out what other things you're hiding,” he grinned. Maybe I should just have stuck to my multiple part-time jobs instead of being greedy.End Note I had assumed I'd write five to ten extra chapters or maybe more but at the last minute, I decided that I shouldn't put angst in the side stories, only fluff. So here's everything that I had intended to write in the side stories but didn't;Lyron asks Amil to mark him which he does. Lyron and Amil have their heat and rut at the same time some months after their wedding and Amil knots him which leads to him getting pregnant.Zara throws a fit when she hears that Lyron is pregnant despite the fact that he's happy about his pregnancy. In truth, getting pregnant is risky for Lyron because of the risk associated with recessive omega births. The issue stems from the fact that a recessive omega can't carry a dominant alpha’s child especially if the child is a dominant alpha/omega.Zara suggests that Lyron gets rid of the baby because his chances of survival were low ( he had also nearly died giving birth to Eleo ) and Amil agrees with it but Lyron refuses and this ca
LYRON Mom stared at me with a blank and dumbfounded expression as we made our way into the hall. She regained her composure as we walked down the aisle. Our silence was comfortable, one that I didn't think I'd share with her. As we approached where Amil stood, I could tell how nervous my mom was. “ You know, you can say what's on your mind,” I said while maintaining the same expression. “ It's just that… seeing you all grown up and even getting married feels like a dream,” she said, her voice shaky. “ I know you wouldn't want to have anything to do with me but I'm happy that you still gave me the chance to walk you down the aisle. This is a moment I won't ever forget,” she smiled at me with tears in her eyes. As much as I've been in denial about how I truly felt about Abigail, one thing was certain, I didn't hate her. Actually, I wished for this moment as a child to have her walk me down the aisle and maybe… just maybe all I've ever wanted was to
LYRONFebruary of the new year I sat down in front of a mirror as the make-up artists touched down on my makeup. “ Isn't this a bit too much?” I would prefer to go out this door without any makeup. “ Yeah, I wish you had said that about the wedding,” Zara pulled on her hair. “ Babe, please don't ruin your hair,” Jason pleaded with her. “ Are you still mad about the wedding date?” She sure could hold a grudge. “ Who wouldn't? Why did your wedding have to happen so quickly? Do you know how important today is supposed to be?” She paced back and forth. She was more nervous than I. “ I don't there's a problem with the wedding date. Besides, it's actually romantic that they fixed the date on Valentine's Day,” Jason shrugged. “ And what would you know about romance?” Zara folded her arms. “ Sometimes, I wonder what you want. Do you prefer me romantic or not? You really have to pick one,” Jason wa
LYRON My eyes widened in surprise. What did he mean by that? His sisters and parents looked just as surprised. “ What do you think you're doing, Amil?” His mother looked at him terrified. “ So now you decide to talk,” he scoffed. “ If you had stood against grandad back then, our family would have been perfect but you couldn't care less what could have happened to me as long as you were secured!” “ A-Amil…” his mom's eyes were teary. “ Just forget about it. I didn't come here to talk about our messed up family,” Amil tried to regain his cool. “ If you won't accept how I feel about Lyron, then it would be in your best interest to find another heir because the moment I'm walking out this door, I'm not longer a Romanov,” Amil wasn't making empty threats. “ Amil,” I whispered. “ Lyron, let's go,” he got to his feet and grabbed me by the hand.“ Amelia, please tell your PA to bring Eleo because we're leaving,” he was really an
LYRON The blonde lady turned out to be Lyron's oldest sister. She finally let go of him and Lyron's other sister came over to meet him. She was the calm one, who seemed to have her feelings put together. “ It's good that you're here. Though, I would have prepared an actual brunch than a judgment table,” she heaved after hugging Amil briefly. “ Amelia, ” their mom called out her name in a reprimanding tone.“ You're going to scare Lyron,” she added. “ But I'm not lying,” she shrugged as she walked back to her seat, followed by Alisa. I, Amil, Eleo and Jason took our seat. “ I did not expect to see the son of McClain family here. What a surprise,” Mr. Charles expressed his surprise. How did he know Jason? “ I'm surprised you know me, sir,” Jason maintained a professional tone. “ Wouldn't it be more surprising if I didn't know members of your family? I've been in this industry for years now, it's only right that I know
LYRON We pulled into one of the largest private estates I've seen… and I've only seen two. I was well aware that Amil came from the wealthiest and most influential family but seeing this display was a reminder of his status. I often forget since he's in the entertainment industry rather than being the pampered heir of the Romanov estate. “ Are you nervous?” Amil asked as he squeezed my hand. “ I wish I could tell you I wasn't,” I kept my eyes on my feet. It wasn't exactly that I lacked self-esteem but that I was becoming awfully aware that I wasn't in Amil's league. “ It's going to be fine so don't worry about how the meet up is going to go. After all, the result would be the same,” he smiled at me. “ I'll try not to think about it too much,” I really needed his reassuring smile. The driver got our door for us and we got down from the car. Eleo who rode in the same car as Jason ran to us. My eyes fell on a stern, middle-aged man who d
LYRON Christmas was soon approaching and as much as I anticipated spending Christmas for the first time with Amil as his partner, I was nervous since we were going to meet his family on Christmas Eve.I forgot to mention that it was Christmas Eve so my nervousness was more than justified. “ You look like you could die at any moment,” Zara sighed as she sat on the bed, watching the maids help me with my outfit for the day. “ You shouldn't be saying such scary things to someone who's already anxious,” I wished she'd stop teasing me. “ That's all the more reason I should tell you how you look because you're too stiff. How are you going to be when you get to his home if you're already this tense?” She got to her feet and walked towards me. She adjusted my tie. “ I knew I should have insisted more or better still forced myself against your will to accompany you both,” she frowned, worried about me. “ I just wanted I and Amil to handle things by o
LYRON “ The question is actually what am I not doing here?” She snapped her fingers confidently. “ I don't think it's weird for me to be in my boyfriend's home,” she beamed. I just knew how much she has been dying to use that. “ That's not even what I meant,” I sighed. I just didn't think he'd come with her or maybe it was more that I had wished he hadn't since I wanted to discuss with him privately. “ Anyway, why are you here late? Did something happen?” She was always so quick to know when something was wrong with me.“ Don't tell me….gasps… did Amil do something?” She hastily assumed. “ I can't believe that's where your mind went first,” I heaved.“ You know he's not like that anymore.” “ Better safe than sorry, you know. You can never be too sure,” she averted her eyes as she said the last part. I knew she meant no harm because it was typical of her to tease and make fun of others but I wasn't exactly in the mood tonight. “ Zar
LYRON “ Are you guys really going to do that? Not to be presumptuous but aren't you worried that his family won't accept you?” Ryan got comfortable in his seat as he sipped from his cup. “ To be honest, I know they won't accept me,” I rested my chin on my hand. “ Are you being for real right now?” Ryan looked more speechless than bothered now. “ It's not like I can lie to myself. Most wealthy families prefer inter-dorminant marriage or whatnot,” I shrugged. “ So what are you going to do if they don't want you with their son? Amil is the heir to the family's wealth so I'm nearly a hundred percent sure that his marriage partner is of relevance to them,” Ryan said. “ If I can't change their mind that I'm the one for their son, then we could just marry anyway without their blessings. Does that count as eloping?” I took my eyes off my drink to ask. “ I don't know how you can be chill about this, not to mention that it's unlike
