CHAPTER FIVE
Arianna's POV
“All right, here are some questions from your fans. Can you tell us about the secret you are trying to hide from Mason Company, that your fiancée is dead, and you won't be able to get the contract?” I said to him, making sure I didn't miss a line in the question I studied.
I waited for about five minutes for his response. I cleared my throat.
“Should I repeat the question?” I asked. He nodded.
“Can you tell us about the secret you are trying to hide from Mason Company, that your fiancée is dead, and you won't be able to get the contract?” I ignorantly read it out loud, smacking my lips together.
He suddenly smiled, “You are my fiancée, don't you know?” He questioned me back. I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion.“Oh, yes, I would gladly love to be one of the billionaire's fiancées,” I scoffed. Of course, who doesn't like better things? If he would marry me, I would agree, but it's just awkward when he said that.
“Well, my fiancée is not dead and is very much alive. She is a journalist on this show as well,” he replied, snapping me out of my trance.“Hmm, interesting. She is a very lucky woman,” I said with a smile, exposing my dimples.
“Now, you said something earlier. A secret is a secret. My business with the Mason Company is my business, and my fiancée is very much alive,” he smiled at the audience.
“Okay then, should more questions come in, Mr...?”
“Carry on,” he said. I asked him a lot of questions about my questionnaire. He kept looking furious and nodded, answering the questions. Although, I felt something was not right about the questions, there was too much about his business with the Mason Company in the media, which was not meant to be.
“All right now, thank you so much to Mr. Knight for honoring our visit here, and my name is Arianna Fletcher. Thank you for watching. We will be ending this show,” I said with a broad smile. Finally, all the cameras and lighting were turned off. The lights turned off immediately. I walked away, rubbing my face with my face towel.“So stressful,” I mumbled.
“Congratulations, you really did well, do see me in my office,” my boss summoned me, walking past me.
My phone rang immediately. It was Brenda calling me.“Hello,” I giggled over the phone without allowing her to talk
.“Did you watch the show? I anchored today.”
“Yes, I watched it. Very superb, bestie,” she replied excitedly. There was a lot of noise I heard while she was speaking. I ignored it and continued my discussion.
“Imagine me interviewing the wealthiest man today as a first-timer,” I said.
“Yeah, I'm coming over shortly to your place. We are close by. I took Liam to the park, so wait for us,” she said over the phone.
“Oh my, Liam ought to be reading instead of playing. You pamper him too much.”
“I know, right? Every child needs fun. Bye,” she hung up. I went straight into the dressing room and took off my suit, changing into my free gown
.I went out and headed towards my boss's office. I knocked on the door, and a voice sounded in return.
“Welcome, Miss Fletcher,” he smiled. I was about to look at his table and saw Mr. Kim there. I didn't pay attention to this earlier when I was in his office.
“Yes, sir,” I nodded my head.
“Please take a seat,” he offered me, and I sat down.
“You need to tell me the lucky charm you use on him because no one dares to ask him such questions for me that must take a lot of courage,” I was so confused by what he was saying. I tried analyzing every one of his words.
“Wait, what did you mean, sir?” I asked, confused.
“Damn!” He hit the table. “Don't tell me you don't know who Wayne Knight is?”
“To be honest, I really don't know him that much. All I know is that he is a wealthy man,” I replied to him.
“Hmm, I love your ignorance then. Anyways, you have a reward. The man you met here today asked me to give you a promotion,” he said. The word promotion sounded like a bomb to me.
“A promotion for what?” I stammered.
“Promotion. We are giving you a rank. You will be promoted from an anchor to a host,” he said, suddenly my lips became too heavy to move. It seemed like returning, fate installed many fortunes for me.
“Thank you so much, sir. I'm really grateful.”“Don't thank me, thank your confidence and Mr. Winston Knight,” he uttered and tried picking his words.
“Nevertheless,” he tried to cover what he just said. “You will be the host for the show of the Knight business. Anything about them, you will be the host for any interview or anything,” he repeated a few times.
“Thank you so much,” I said excitedly.
“Nonetheless, as a host, I will be giving you additional work. You will be a journalist, and a website is created for you to post news on it pertaining to…” Before he could finish, I replied “To the Knights.” I said with a broad smile.
“Very good. Next week will be your swearing-in. Now you can leave,” he said. I nodded my head and left.
Opening the door, I saw an angry face dashing at me, Wayne Knight. “Good day, sir,” I bowed my head, walking away.
“Come back,” he ordered. At first, I froze and tried to understand if he was talking to me. Who does he think he is that he can just command me however he likes?
“Me,” I slowly turned.
“Yes, you,” I walked towards him as he was guarded by his two bodyguards
.“I still don't understand why you asked me those questions. Who sent you?” He asked me. I started feeling my blood boil. If only I could understand what he was talking about.
“Sent me ?,” I repeated the words, muffling them out one by one.

She is light-skinned as she possesses a captivating brown-muddy eye. Arianna's POV“I guess there is some politics going on at the BBC. I don't understand my encounter today,” I said as I entered the car.“Mommy!” Liam hugged me from the back seat, cuddling me with his hands.“How are you, my sweet charming prince?” I asked him.“I'm fine, mommy,” he replied.“Aunty Brenda took me to the park,” we all laughed.“I hope you had fun,” he nodded. “Good, now sit down, we are about to drive.”“Okay, mommy.” I looked at him through the front mirror, and he immediately sat down, playing with his tablet.“You were muttering some words earlier,” Brianna asked me.“I really don't understand what happened at BBC News at all,” I told her, folding my hands.“Firstly, why would you ask such a question to a Knight?” Brenda asked, her eyes focused on the road, gripping the steering wheel with caution.“Shit, did I do something wrong, huh?” I asked her.“You really did something wrong. Asking him the secret he kept from the other company on the air is despicable.”“Oh,

The air smelled of wealth, and there were different types of dishes and wines placed on tables. As we walked further, I saw the media around, including the BBC. I was shocked and checked my phone."Oh my god, shoot," I said out loud."What's going on?" Brenda asked."Guess what, I'm supposed to be interviewing the Knight family tonight.""Are they here?" Brenda asked, looking confused."Of course they are."“All right, bae, you can still go ahead and join them," she said with a broad smile. I nodded and walked towards Mr. Kim, wh
"Please, don't do this!" I screamed, my voice cracking with fear as I struggled against the man attempting to restrain me with handcuffs."You'll pay for your father's betrayal," he sneered, his grip tightening around my wrists as he secured them to the bed."Let me go!" I pleaded, desperation creeping into my voice as I thrashed against the restraints, but his hold remained unyielding."Everyone, leave," he commanded with a snap of his fingers, and the room emptied, leaving me alone with my captor. "May his soul rest in perfect peace," the Reverend father said, his solemn words echoing through the cemetery. Tears welled up in my eyes as I slowly poured the sand over my father's casket."Take it easy, don't cry, okay?" Brenda's voice broke through my sorrow as she gently patted my shoulder. Despite her efforts to console me, the tears flowed freely, unstoppable in their descent."The only man left for me was strangled to death. I was in so much pain. As the plane touched down, the familiar sights of home brought a smile to my face. Five years away had been too long, but now I was back where I belonged."Ahh, it's good to be home," I remarked to myself, peering out the window at the bustling airport.A sleek Lamborghini awaited me on the tarmac, and without a word, my personal assistant sprang into action, greeting the driver and overseeing the loading of my bags."Welcome back, boss," the driver greeted me with a nod as he collected my luggage."Thank you," I replied, acknowledging his gesture with a nod of my own.As I settled into the plush interior of the car, the cool air and soft music provided a moment of respite from the whirlwind of my return."Hello, boss," Sophia's voice crackled over the line, but I swiftly ended the call, my mind already racing with the weight of responsibilities."Sophia, please arrange a meeting with Marc as soon as possible," I instructed, tapping my fingers on the armrest."Right away, sir," she re
As the tension rose in the room, I couldn't help but feel a surge of adrenaline coursing through my veins. My palms were sweaty, and my heart pounded in my chest as I prepared to confront Knight Wayne, the enigmatic CEO of the Forte company."What!! How can the case be closed?" I exclaimed, my frustration boiling over as I slammed my hand on the table in front of the officer."I'm sorry, but some people came over telling us to close down the case," he replied, his tone apologetic but his words doing little to quell my anger. With a swift grab of my bag, I stormed away from him, my mind racing with thoughts of retribution."I will be back, and you will provide me with those who came behind my back to close down the case," I declared as I stormed out of the room, my determination palpable in every step I took.As I entered Brenda's car, her words of caution grated on my nerves.
