Xavier Blackwood just took over his family company. He went to Remington Hotel on Citadel Island to celebrate with his childhood friend, Soren and loyal college friends Lauren and Landon. What was supposed to be a blast became a nightmare when Xavier woke up in bed next to a stranger. Apparently, they married during the night, and he has no recollection of the event. Xavier panics when the stranger refuses an annulment. He finds himself in a dilemma, and he and his friends have to return home so he can seek counsel from his family lawyer. Unfortunately, the contract is binding, so the Lawyer proposed a risky illegal solution that might land the perpetrators in jail if caught. To fix the problem, they decide to create a backdated fake wedding certificate between Xavier and his loyal college friend Lauren, which would cancel out his marriage to the stranger. However, the stranger isn't giving up without a fight. Xavier and Lauren have to prove that their marriage is real to prevent Xavier from losing half of his wealth to the stranger should the wedding stand and she chooses to divorce him. They also need to save themselves from getting arrested for making fake marriage documents. All of this unfolds in a world where werewolves exist, hidden from human awareness. Join us in this romantic and mysterious adventure as we uncover the secrets of the story. If you're a fan of billionaire romance, werewolf romance, and mystery, this book might be a perfect match, offering a blend of everything to keep you intrigued.

01 The Remington

Luren,The vibrant sounds in the club were deafening, and I felt a bit out of place. I didn't want to be there, really, but Xavier had just taken over his father's company, and we had come to celebrate the victory with him. It was an all-expense paid weekend celebration by Xavier, and I wasn't comfortable about it. We had been friends since college, so our friendship had endured despite being from different social classes. I was happy for Xavier, especially when I knew his father did not trust him initially. Still, he convinced his father, through hard work, discipline and diligence, to hand the company over to him instead of selling it. Xavier was only twenty-six, but he was a leader. Xavier also invited his childhood friend, Soren, to join us. He was from Xavier's social class, and just like Xavier, he was cool. The drinking was a bit much. I wondered how Soren and Xavier were faring, seeing how they kept going strong after drinking several tequila shots. After the second sho

02 The Walk of Shame

Lauren I did not know the gravity of the situation until Soren spelt it out. Xavier wasn't in his senses anymore. He ran his finger through his thick curls repeatedly, yanking at his hair and trying to remain calm. I could swear I heard a low growl from him, but it might have been the hangover. "I have fucked up, Man," he said, looking at Soren, and I knew why he would feel that way. His father always believed he would fuck things up. This wasn't good for him at all. "Where were you last night?" I asked Soren, and he frowned at me. "Where I should be, of course. I was in my room. You should be asking him where he went after we parted ways at three in the morning," he said, pointing at Xavier, and we all looked at Xavier. He looked a bit guilty, and I knew somehow he was the cause of his problem. "I met a girl at the bar, and we drank and chatted. I was still awake, and I did not want to waste time. I knew we were leaving today and wanted to enjoy my time a little longer before go

03 Ramen and Comfort

Lauren I had no clue what the fuck I had just agreed to, but I knew I couldn't take it back now. Standing in my pyjamas in the lawyer's office, I stared at Xavier and the Lawyer while they conversed. "Thank you so much, Lauren; I owe you big time," Xavier said, and I did not speak; I just stared. I had a freaking interview on Tuesday in Stonegate. Will this affect me? "How much will you want to be paid for this service, Lauren," the lawyer asked, and I stared at him. I had a headache, and confusion was setting in. I was still trying to figure out what I had gotten myself into. "Lauren, Lauren," Xavier said, snapping his fingers before me. I snapped out of the shock and nodded. Soren chuckled a bit. I must have unknowingly done something stupid. "How much would you want to be paid for this service?" Xavier asked me, and I felt uncomfortable taking money from him. He was my friend and in trouble; I couldn't put a price on the help. I snapped out of my deep thoughts and shook my h

04 The Hearing

Lauren We were still sitting on the bench on the courthouse's open floor when a woman in red being photographed by reporters walked in. Xavier was tense immediately when he saw her. She was a brunette with pale skin and plump red lips. She looked like the models in the magazine. Perfect in every way. She had two men with her, and the reporters were questioning her. The woman looked in our direction, and there was anger in her eyes. "What's with her?" I asked. "That is Isabella knight," Gibert said, and my eyes opened wide before I composed myself again. Why will Xavier run away from that? She did not seem like a golddigger to me. She looked well off. She looked like she was coming from money. I might be wrong, but she put much effort into her wardrobe and looks. "I tracked her down when I looked up the licence Citadel to request an annulment, and she decided to sue. I am sure we will throw it out," Gabriel said confidently, looking at her and the people she was with; I wasn't s

05 Living Arrangements

Lauren Xavier turned his gaze towards me in the courtroom. I could see the despair in his eyes, and I did not know how his luck had turned sour. We remained seated while the people on Isabella's side, along with Isabella, filed out of the courtroom. I did not want to go outside because I could hear the reporters. This shit was going to be bigger than I thought. How could Xavier be so careless? Now I was roped into this shit thanks to Gilbert making it seem like a none issue. I got up and went to meet Xavier. I could see he was worried. I did not know what to do. He stood up yet to speak, and I hugged him. He wrapped his arms around me and rested his head on my shoulder. He needed the comfort; I could feel it. Gilbert rubbed his back gently. "Do not worry, Xavier, we will beat this," he said, assuring Xavier, and he did not say a word. It was indeed a colossal mess. Isabella had made her intention clear already. Should he continue to pursue an annulment, she will divorce him. I

06 Going Onward

Lauren, Dinner arrived after I had finished freshening up. Slipping into the oversized shirt, I realised it was bare at the bottom. The shirt was big enough to cover my ass, but still, I felt naked. Nonetheless, I planned to just deal. I moved down the stairs, grateful that Xavier wasn't by the stairs. When I got to the bottom, I saw him as he entered the room, and I couldn't help but be captivated by his presence. Standing tall and confident, his chiselled jawline gave him an air of strength and determination. His dark hair, neatly styled, contrasted sharply against his fair complexion, accentuating his striking features. His deep, dark eyes held a magnetic allure, drawing you in with an intriguing and mysterious intensity. As he moved with grace and self-assurance, it was evident that he carried himself with an innate elegance that left a lasting impression. "I made popcorn for the movie," Xavier said with a grin. I returned the smile, uncomfortable walking towards him, consci

07 Almost There

Lauren, We left the Blackwood Towers, and Xavier dismissed the driver so he could drive us. He had taken off his suit jacket and necktie, leaving on his partially unbuttoned shirt to give it a casual feel. To my surprise, we weren't going in the car I came in; instead, we were leaving in a convertible. He opened my side with a smile, and I got in. He did the same on his end with his boyish grin, and I knew people were staring at us. I also caught a camera flash in the corner of my eye, and I knew someone was taking photos. I guess this would be my life now until the issue with Isabella was solved. He looked at me and pulled me in for a kiss. I wondered if it was necessary or if he was just taking liberties. Nonetheless, he was stirring up desire in me, and I doubt I won't break soon. Xavier pulled away, taking my breath with him before starting the vehicle and moving. I remember when he and Luisa used to ride about town in the same convertible. He would have married her had s

08 A Transformation

Lauren, Xavier returned after a bit; by then, I had calmed down too. He had an apologetic look on his face, and I hoped he wouldn't bring it up because the atmosphere between us was already getting awkward. I had changed into the jeans and the shirt I wore on our way there, and he was surprised. "So quick?" he asked me, and I nodded. "You looked beautiful in all the dresses you tried on," he remarked, and I smiled at him. "My mother called to ensure I bring you along. She wants to introduce you to her friends," he said, and I frowned. I wasn't socialite material. I had objections, but knowing we were in a public place, I did not want to object. I will leave the talk for the car or when we get home. Xavier and I decided to leave shortly after that. He told the store manager to send the selected clothes to his house immediately before we left. Getting into the car, I knew it was safe to speak. The weather seemed to be coming, so he put up the convertible's roof, and we were in an

09 At The Party

Lauren We went to the party in a limo. It was being held at the Ravenscroft Hotel. The biggest hotel in Riverbend and the most expensive too. There was a red carpet at the entrance, and the press was everywhere, making me nervous. Xavier squeezed my hand, reassuring me. I looked at him, trying to steady my breath, my heart beating fast in my chest like I was about to have an anxiety attack. "Breathe, Lauren; all that matters is just you and me. Forget about the crowd out there. I promise I won't leave your side. You have nothing to prove," He said, bringing my hand to his lips and kissing gently. His gesture calmed me a bit, assuring me I wasn't alone. "Breathe," he said, and I did as he had instructed, taking deep breaths. When I was ready, the door to the limo was opened; Xavier stepped out on his side and helped me out on his side. The light was blinding, and the camera's flash was so much. I managed to stand my ground, and he held on tightly; keeping me close to him, we mo

10 Sure

Lauren Xavier took me to his mother, where she was deep in conversation with high-society women her age. I saw a woman resembling Luisa standing beside her, who did not seem to look friendly towards me. If she was indeed Luisa's relative, then there was no way she would like me. "Lauren, dear," Mrs Blackwood said, reaching for my hand. "Your husband finally allowed you to meet the family," She said, and I smiled at her. "I insisted," I said confidently, and she looked at Xavier, who nodded, acknowledging what I had said was true. She smiled and went on to introduce her friends to me. I was right about the woman I believed was related to Luisa; she was her mother. Shockingly she smiled at me when Mrs Balckwood introduced us. I knew it was for show. There was no way she would be happy that her daughter did not get to be Luna. I really did not understand the setting. However weird it seemed, it was now my cross to bear. Xavier was in a hurry to leave the place and made sure he
