The deep frown on Mason's face instantly softened and was replaced by his usual playful smile when he saw Nikita.

"Coming to see me first thing in the morning, eh? That must mean I'm becoming important to you," he teased.

Nikita ignored his flirty tone as she glanced down at the disorganized files on his desk. "Need my help?"

Her intuition told her that she was the reason Mason was facing all this trouble. She knew what was going on when the smile on Mason's face faded slightly.

Mason shook his head. "I doubt you can help. Nathaniel hit hard this time. He’s poaching all my major clients. I've already spoken with them, but they're firm in their decision. They've made it clear they won't be working with us anymore."

Now, only a few unimportant clients came by occasionally. Mason wasn't sure if Nathaniel had spared them out of pity or just left them to mock him.

Nikita remained calm. She blinked and confidently mentioned, "Did you forget that my forte is bringing in clients?"
