Chapter 54

Nikita was about to hail a cab after leaving the party when footsteps sounded from behind her. A second later, someone pulled her by the arm.

Nathaniel said in a hard, unyielding tone, "I'll drive you home."

Nikita snorted. "And waste your precious time, Mr. Foster? Never. I can take a cab—"

She broke off in a yelp when he scooped her into his arms and headed toward his car. She kicked and thrashed in his arms. Then she snapped at him. "Let me down this instant! Let me down!"

Nathaniel ignored her. Someone opened the car door for him as soon as he reached the vehicle, and he unceremoniously shoved Nikita into the passenger seat. He then closed the door and locked it just as she was about to open it and dash off.

She seethed, and for the first time, she thought Nathaniel was the most incomprehensible and unreasonable prick. She huffed and glowered at him through the window.
