Emily’s POV
“Rise and shine to a new beginning sweetheart,” My mother said pulling open my window curtains and letting in the flow of light
I opened my eyes to the bright light as I had my hand over my face to shield my face from the sun
My darkroom soon was eluded by the brightness of the sun peeking through my window blinds
It was my 18th birthday and it all didn’t seem like it
I only wished for a mate and a birthday as calm as every other
Being the only known daughter of the Beta of our packing made things easy around the pack and made me well-known around the pack by other pack members
And not to mention having a boyfriend who loves and cares about you
Dorian…
Dorian and I have known ourselves like since forever, and have been dating since I was fourteen
As I got up to my feet looking into my reflection in the mirror
Eighteen wasn’t actually anything special
It felt all the same
Growing up as the only child of the Beta of our pack was a blessing as I was given everything I wanted and had all a child would ever need to be comfortable in a home
I moved to my closet not minding my mum blabbing on how messed I had the state of my room in
I flipped through the hangers, searching for what to wear for my dinner party
My dad had always been a fan of birthday parties and had all birth year celebrated
And now turning Eighteen still felt like my tenth birthday
Having me friends over as they sang me a happy birthday song all through the party
Blowing out candles were my favorite part of ny birthday parties
Balloons tied with ribbons and so on, but this time a few decorations around the house
How time flies
Doesn’t it?…
I thought about how age had taken a toll on me and how things were changing with the year
“Hey honey get ready for breakfast!!” my mother yelled on her way out
I got into the shower and ran the water over my skin, feeling refreshed from tossing all through the night
I had my favorite dress on, still without a birthday dress as I was confused about what to wear for the night
As I got down the stairs, I found my dad smiling at me like he admired every bit of what he saw on me
“My beautiful angel” he said as he had his arms open for a hug
“Happy birthday sweetheart” he said as he handed me a box
“What’s in here?” I said flipping the box back and forth
“Open it” he said smiling to me
I loved how handsome he always looked when he smiled
Without wasting much time, I had it opened and saw a beautiful silver necklace and a Diamond pendant having the family symbol Which spelt “James”
I hugged the living daylight out of him when I opened it
“My very own pendant, thanks daddy” I said giving him a big embrace
All through breakfast, it was laughter as we talked about everything and anything bringing memories of the good old days
These were moments I found so precious
Spending time with my mother and father…
As I sat with them, I admired how lovely they both looked together as I thought about Dorian and how sweet we would look together in few years time
I glanced at my phone, hoping I would see a text from Dorian
But not a single text from him
Instead, I got a text from Lily who happened to be my best friend since childhood
Or so I thought…
The mating ceremony was to be held along side my dinner party and I just couldn’t wait to have my friends and loved ones over
I was hoping the moon goddess would grant me my heart desires of being mated to my boyfriend Dorian
As I had rejected Roman, the Alpha of the red creek park who had asked for my hand in marriage
My father was so glad when he did, but was somewhat disappointed when I declined
As I didn’t care anyway…
I saw how family members trooped in with various gifts and wishes as they came in settling for the mating ceremony alongside my dinner party
I was indeed blessed with the people I had around me
I wasn’t so sure why I hadn’t gotten a text from Dorian, which was so unusual
I tried placing a call to him but still wasn’t reachable
I texted back Lily who had dropped a message some hours ago
I rubbed my eyes and yawned as I felt so tired from helping out with a few arrangements down the hall
After minutes of tossing and turning on my bed, I went off to my closet
Feeling determined on a picking a dress for the night without any delay
After two wrong picks on what to wear, I spotted a red dress I have had for a long time without wearing
I tried it on as I looked into the mirror staring at my reflection
A few moments later, Lily was here
“Where the hell have you been girl?” I asked throwing one of the dress I had littered around the room
“I think I would go with this you have on” she said as she had her hand to her chin
She made herself comfortable as she laid on my bed looking so exhausted
I looked into the mirror staring at my reflection again as I wasn’t so satisfied with what I had on
“Look at you! You are beautiful hurry up” Lily said as she got to her feet
“Aren’t you changing what you have on?” I asked her
Wondering why she still wasn’t bothered about changing
The Lilly I know, would have had her makeover done by now but she didn’t
“I will for sure, but first…Let’s make a toast to a new beginning” she said as she brought out a tumbler from my refrigerator pouring out the Orange juice she had gotten on her way to the house
“You didn’t have to girl, we have a lot to drink for dinner” I said smiling so innocently as I grabbed my own share
“A toast to…” she said looking straight into my eyes
“A new beginning” I said as I had my glass against hers
Together we drank and laughed remembering the good old days
We were grown girls now anyway…
As she smiled, I remembered how innocently cute she looked the day we met at the playground having our parents worried over finding us
A day I would always remember
For a moment I felt the walls coming in on me, I giggled when Lilly said something but wasn’t sure why I giggled
Soon afterwards, the pain I felt down my stomach was intrusively painful as it didn’t subside like I expected it to
I held on to the arm chair as I was in need of support from falling
I looked up at Lilly who stood there doing nothing as she watched me cry out in pain
“Help!!!” I cried out
I wasn’t so much of a drama queen, so I wondered why Lilly just stood there watching as I winced in pain
Without her minding the pain I was going through at that point in time
“Lilly my stomach hurts, get mummy” I said as I had my eyes closed wanting for the pain I felt to go away
But it didn’t, instead it became worse
I watched how Lily walked up to the door as she had it locked
I couldn’t understand why she did that as I thought of what I had forgotten to do or probably done to make her care less
She wasn’t the girl I met at the playground when I was nine
“Lilly, what are you doing? I asked still wondering why she wasn’t moved
She didn’t bulge either, instead she sat back down as she had her hands to her chest waiting probably till what I feared was happening to actually happen
Did she plan this?…. I asked myself as I thought of ways to crawl to the door probably with the last strength I had to have it opened
My legs felt numb all of a sudden as I felt cold through my hands and feet
I was slowly losing it and needed help as fast as possible
Wolves were practically crafted to kill and protect according to instincts but now it felt as though she had this planned for a while now
I couldn’t help but wonder why I had to go through this on my 18th birthday and wished I had accepted the proposal of Roman
Not that felt any attraction towards him but it definitely would have saved me the stress of going through
I looked up at her halfway gone as I felt the urge to throw up
As I looked down to the floor where I laid, I froze when I saw it
Blood…
I was poisoned
After moments of me tossing on the ground crying out in pain begging for Lilly to send in help
I heard a tap on the door
Finally help came…
Or so I thought anyway
The tap came in twice and I wondered who it was on the other end
I saw how slowly Lilly walked up to the door trying to see who it was
And when she finally heard the tap, she opened up
I wasn’t so sure of who I saw, but the voice sounded so familiar
She hugged the figure that came in
And soon rather than later I got a glimpse of who it was
Dorian…
They had this all planned
My heart sank the moment he walked in
I felt so helpless as I they stood before me
The very two persons I had trusted and hoped on spending the rest of the day with
And now I lay here in wait of death
A tap came on the door soon after he entered as I prayed for it to be someone who has com to help
“The party would be starting in an hour guys, hurry up”
It was my mother…
She probably must be wondering what had kept us in for a long time
I cried out in pain when I heard her voice as I wished to see her just one last time before drifting on to the warm
embrace of death
“I’m sorry things had to end this way, but you have long been in a position that was meant to be mine” Lilly said as she giggled
“And now, I have come to take what’s rightfully mine” she added holding on to the hands of Dorian as they kissed right in front of me
I wondered why death felt so slow leaving me in the hands of the torture I was going through having them here together
Mates are gifts from the moon goddess to her people but now it felt as though mine was forcefully taken away from me by someone else
I could feel Dorian staring at me from time to time as he spoke with Lilly
I watched as they laughed and giggled to themselves as I had my eyes closed finally giving up on life and everything I had around me
All the attraction I felt for him soon disappeared as I was left in my own pool of blood to suffer
Death was finally here
I closed my eyes, feeling the warmth embrace I felt from death
I could hear faintly Dorian and Lily as they giggled turning in the lock to my room
I wasn’t sure what next as I thought of where exactly it is I had gone wrong as I begged to be grsy
Soon it all came to a stop
I was gone…
Emily’s POVAm I dead?…I asked myself looking around hoping to find someone to ask what exactly was going onAs I turned to face the ground, I noticed I was barefooted and wondered why I had a different dress onThe place I was, it wasn't a place familiar Everything around me loomed with light making it so hard to seeNonetheless, I pushed my way through and it all felt like I was in a tunnel of lightI kept on walking not minding where the tunnel was leading to I felt a bit scared but summoned up courage as I was all I had at that moment so I had to be strong On getting to the end of the tunnel, the picture of what was in front, which had been blurry from the beginning of the tunnel became clearIt was a garden…A garden I felt looked so familiar from the year before but had a few trees taken off currently On entering, I saw how different the garden from last year to what it is now lookedWondering what this meant “Good morning Emily,” A lady said as she went back to doing her
Emily's POVAs I was ushered in by my father, I saw how he stared at meIt was like he had found a lost treasure and was ready to claim it will all cause Being that the Alpha of our pack had no daughter leaving my father the beta his only option for marriage I was seeing him here for the second time and still admired how handsome he looked As I got closer, I got a closer look at his dark blue eyes and brown ruffled hair He was just the perfect rival for Dorian I smiled when they had my veil removedI looked up at him, as we exchanged glancesI saw how nervous he felt staring at me, good thing I wasn't the only one feeling this nervous and trying to suppress itI could see him fighting over something else That made me chuckle seeing him this way, I held back the urge to speak to me as I wasn't allowed to yet until the end of the ceremony And when they finally popped the question of me accepting him or not without hesitating I accepted “Yes, I Emily James accept the proposal of
Dorian’s POVI was fuming so much the moment she had me thrown out of her Father's house She was to be married in few days time as I thought about talking her out of itBut instead I got thrown out of the house Somehow I was angry at the way things turned out to be not having her around anymore As much as I didn't want her for a mate, I wanted her for publicityGetting entangled with the daughter of the beta of our pack was one big goal I had set out to achieve a long time ago I wouldn’t deny that I was angry with all happening but at the moment Suddenly my phone started buzzing and I got a text message from Lily which said, “where are you, we need to talk”I wasn’t in the mood for any of her rants on letting me Emily go When I read the message I instantly knew she wanted to talk about me finally voicing out to the pack on getting mated to her a long time agoBut I didn’t want thatI wasn’t just letting Emily go just like that, well good thing she somehow declined Lily had onc
Emily povAs the wedding day dawned, I could feel the anticipation building within me. It was the day I had been dreaming about ever since I first laid eyes on Roman. The sun peeked through the curtains, casting a warm glow in the room where I was getting ready. My heart fluttered with a mix of excitement and nervousness.I glanced at myself in the mirror, adjusting my veil and smoothing down the delicate lace of my gown. My mother stood beside me, beaming with pride and happiness. Her eyes welled up with tears as she took in the sight of her daughter preparing to embark on this new chapter of her life."Emily, my dear, you look absolutely breathtaking," she said, her voice filled with love and admiration. Her hands trembled slightly as she reached out to brush a stray lock of hair behind my ear. "Today is the beginning of a beautiful journey for you and Roman."I smiled back at her, feeling an overwhelming sense of gratitude. "Thank you, Mom. I'm so glad you're here with me on this s
Emily povI woke up the next morning feeling refreshed and ready to take on the day. As sunlight streamed through the curtains, I stretched my arms and let out a contented sigh. With a smile on my face, I made my way to the bathroom to start my morning routine. As I stood in front of the mirror, I caught a glimpse of myself, slightly disheveled from sleep. I reached for my toothbrush and applied a generous amount of toothpaste. With rhythmic motions, I brushed away the remnants of yesterday's meals, savoring the minty freshness that enveloped my mouth.Feeling the need for a refreshing cleanse, I turned on the shower, allowing the sound of running water to fill the room. Stepping into the warm stream, I closed my eyes and let the droplets cascade over my body, washing away any lingering drowsiness. The sensation was invigorating, as if the water itself carried the promise of a new beginning. After a leisurely shower, I wrapped myself in a fluffy towel and stepped out into the cool air
Emily povI picked up my phone and dialed the number to summon the palace maid, Clara. Today, I longed for an adventure beyond the palace walls, a chance to immerse myself in the beauty of the surrounding park. Clara answered the call with her usual warmth, her voice resonating through the receiver."Clara, could you please come and join me for a stroll in the park?" I asked, my voice filled with excitement. I could almost hear her smile on the other end of the line as she replied, "Of course, Miss Emily. I'll be right there."Moments later, Clara arrived at my doorstep, her crisp uniform perfectly pressed. She greeted me with a friendly nod and a gleam in her eyes that mirrored my own eagerness. Together, we stepped outside, the grandeur of the palace fading behind us as we ventured into the world beyond. As we entered the park, a gentle breeze tousled my hair, carrying with it the scent of blooming flowers and freshly cut grass. The lush greenery stretched out before us, inviting us

The peacefulness of the surroundings clung to me, a sense of serenity that I carried with me as Clara and I made our way back.As we approached the grand entrance of the palace, the ornate doors swung open, revealing the opulent interior that awaited us. The marble floors gleamed under the soft light of crystal chandeliers, and the air carried a faint scent of luxury and history.Clara and I stepped into the foyer, our footsteps muffled by the plush carpeting. I turned to her, grateful for her company throughout the day. "Thank you, Clara, for accompanying me on this lovely adventure. It was truly a memorable experience."Clara smiled warmly, her eyes twinkling with appreciation. "The pleasure was mine, Miss Emily. I'm glad to have been a part of your day. If there's anything else you need, please don't hesitate to ask."With a nod of gratitude, I bid farewell
Emily povAs night descended upon the palace, a captivating stillness settled over the surroundings. The moon shone brightly in the sky, casting an ethereal glow that illuminated the lush gardens. It was in this enchanting moment that Roman, my beloved, had a vision for his park—a vision that called for a gathering of friends and acquaintances, a celebration of life and shared joy.Roman's enthusiasm was infectious, and as a natural leader, he wasted no time in bringing his vision to life. With his commanding presence and charisma, he rallied the palace staff, inviting them to join him in transforming the park into a place of merriment and revelry. The preparations began, and under Roman's guidance, the park underwent a metamorphosis. Strings of fairy lights adorned the trees, casting a warm, twinkling glow. Colorful lanterns were hung delicately, their vibrant hues adding an air of festivity to the night. Emily's POVAs I awoke from a night's rest, the soft morning light filtered through the curtains, casting a gentle warmth on our bedroom. Beside me, our baby was cocooned in the crib, softly cooing. A smile graced my lips as I gazed at our precious little one, a testament to the love Roman and I had built together.Carefully, I reached down to lift our baby into my arms. The world was still and peaceful, a tranquil start to the day. As our child's eyes blinked open, I couldn't help but feel the immense love and responsibility that came with motherhood. My heart swelled with adoration as I looked down at this tiny, fragile life that we had brought into the world. The bond between us was unbreakable, a connection forged in love and nurtured with care. The journey of motherhood was both a challenge and a privilege, and I was determined to embrace every moment.Slowly, I rose from the bed, our baby cradled in my arms, and made my way to the kitchen. The scent of freshly brewed coffee waft
Emily POVThe park, a sprawling oasis of lush greenery and vibrant blossoms, was a place of refuge and serenity for the pack. Roman and I often took walks here, embracing the tranquil beauty of nature amidst our responsibilities. On this particular morning, the sun's gentle rays painted the world in gold as we wandered through the park, hand in hand. The whispers of the leaves in the wind seemed to echo secrets only the trees knew.Roman's presence beside me was a comforting anchor. He, the formidable Alpha, carried the weight of leadership with unwavering strength. His dark hair, kissed by the sun, caught the light in a way that made me catch my breath. As we walked, we spoke about the pack's recent achievements and challenges. The park, with its magnificent trees and blooming flowers, seemed to offer a sanctuary for candid conversations. We had built our lives around these discussions, sharing our dreams and plans as we roamed the park's hidden paths."I'm proud of the pack's progre

The prospect of becoming a father once again was a gift I cherished deeply. To share this moment with my beloved Emily was a blessing beyond measure. We gathered under the open sky, a myriad of pack members and friends, each person with their own story and connection to our growing family. The atmosphere was brimming with positivity, as if the entire pack had embraced the notion of new life with open hearts and open arms.My gaze remained fixed on Emily, her smile radiant as she mingled with well-wishers. Emily POV With the unity of our pack restored, every day was a testament to our strength and resilience. The damage caused by the previous turmoil was slowly but surely repaired, and our home began to regain its former splendor. Every morning, I woke up to the soothing sounds of nature outside our window. The park came back to life, and it was as if the trees whispered stories of our triumph to the skies above. I couldn't help but smile as I looked at Roman sleeping beside me, his chest rising and falling with each peaceful breath. We had endured so much together, and I knew that our bond had grown unbreakable. Roman's love and support were the pillars upon which I could always lean. It was in moments like these, watching him sleep, that I realized how fortunate I was to be the Luna of this extraordinary pack. One morning, Roman woke before me and, with a mischievous glint in his eye, decided to surprise me. He gently kissed my forehead and whispered, "Emily, wake up, my love." I
Roman POV Under the azure canopy of the park, a lush expanse that seemed to stretch on forever, our pack gathered. It was a day of celebration, a testament to the unity and strength that defined us. Families spread their picnic blankets beneath the shade of towering oaks, while children laughed and played. The scent of grilled food wafted through the air, carried by a gentle breeze. Our warriors stood sentinel, ensuring the safety of our gathering. As Emily and I entered the park, we were greeted with cheers and smiles. The bond we shared with our pack was undeniable, and moments like this filled us with profound gratitude. The center of the park was transformed into a makeshift stage, adorned with colorful banners and flowers. It was here that we stood, surrounded by our pack members who looked upon us with respect and affection. Emily took the microphone, her eyes sparkling with warmth and gratitude. "Today, we come together not only as a pack but as a family. We celebrate our u
Roman POV As we concluded our conversation, Emily and I decided to have our meal in the lush gardens that surrounded the palace. The warm sun bathed us in a gentle glow, and the soft rustling of leaves added a soothing soundtrack to our meal. We settled at a pristine white tablecloth spread with a delectable array of dishes prepared by the palace chefs. The scent of freshly grilled vegetables mixed with the savory aroma of roasted meats. Platters of colorful salads and fruits added vibrancy to the table. My heart swelled with contentment as I watched Emily, her radiant smile more brilliant than the sunlight dappling through the leaves. Her happiness was my greatest reward, and I cherished every moment we spent together. Emily reached for a fork and playfully teased me. "Roman, you're staring again. Is the food that enticing, or is it just your lovely Luna?" I chuckled, unable to deny the truth in her words. "I'm afraid it's a combination of both, my love. This meal is a feast for
Emily POVThe tension in the pack house had reached its breaking point. For days, I had felt the growing unease, the sense of a storm brewing on the horizon. I knew it was coming, but nothing could have prepared me for the confrontation that would change everything.Lucy had grown bolder with each passing day, testing the boundaries of what was acceptable in our pack. Her constant presence, her attempts to get close to Roman, had driven a wedge between us. I couldn't bear it any longer. One morning, I decided I'd had enough. It was time to confront Lucy, to make her understand that Roman was mine, heart and soul. I knew this wouldn't be an easy conversation, but it was necessary.I found Lucy in the garden, seemingly lost in her own thoughts. She looked up as I approached, a sly smile on her face. It was a smile that infuriated me, knowing the intentions behind it."Lucy," I began, my voice steady but filled with authority. "We need to talk."She raised an eyebrow, feigning innocence.
Roman POVMorning light filtered through the curtains, casting a soft glow on our room. The incident with Lucy last night had left me feeling uneasy. I knew that my love for Emily was unwavering, but Lucy's persistence was unsettling. I needed to discuss this with my beloved Luna, to let her know how serious the situation had become.I gently shifted in bed, careful not to wake Emily. Her peaceful form beside me, her hand resting protectively over her womb, was a sight that filled my heart with both love and concern. The twins growing within her were a testament to our love and the strength of our pack. I couldn't allow anything to jeopardize that.Silently, I slipped out of bed and made my way to our private bathroom. As I turned on the tap, the sound of running water mixed with the soft chirping of birds outside. I splashed my face with cold water, hoping it would help clear my thoughts. The reflection in the mirror revealed the weight of responsibility etched in my eyes. After taki
Lucy POVRoman was unwavering, and I couldn't understand why he wouldn't give in to my advances. It had been a long time since I had left the pack, only to return with a burning desire to win the Alpha's heart. From my perspective, it was clear that Roman was the Alpha, strong and powerful, and he was meant to be mine. His commitment to Emily was something I just couldn't fathom. It infuriated me, and I was determined to change his mind.I would often visit Roman's room when I knew he'd be alone, knocking gently as though I was his beloved partner. I'd enter and create an illusion of intimacy, hoping someone would witness us and question the strength of his relationship with Emily. With a wicked smile, I'd trail my fingers along Roman's arm, trying to invoke a reaction from him. But he remained steadfast and focused on his own activities, making my efforts seem futile. My motives were clear. I believed that if I could just create the façade of a romance with Roman, it might break his
