Chapter 96: Distant Memory

Ana leaned closer as the last words left her mother's mouth. Her hands found the edge of the leather couch, and she grabbed onto it. She desperately tried to keep herself grounded, while listening to what her mother was saying.

Ana began to pensively think about how and why now her mother was trying to be a part of her life.

'Why did my biological mother have to appear after so many years? Was it pre-ordained by the moon goddess? Or was there something else at play?' Ana wondered as she tried to understand what the meaning of her new life meant for her.

"Ana, are you listening to me?" Her mother questioned before she continued with the story. Absentmindedly, Ana nodded, "Yeah, I am." She replied with a smile on her face.

Right before her mother started talking again, Ana began thinking about her life, and how it would change.

'Will my mother's revelation guide me in how I view myself? And is it going to fill the void in my heart?' She wondered as her mother continued.
