Chapter 33: Into the Darkness

As Samantha stood at the edge of the clearing, her heart pounded against her chest. The moon cast a silvery glow over the forest, illuminating the tangled underbrush and casting long shadows across the forest floor. She sensed a presence nearby, something stirring in the darkness.

"Who's there?" Samantha called out, her voice trembling slightly.

A rustling sound came from the bushes, and then a figure emerged, stepping into the moonlight. It was a familiar silhouette, tall and imposing, with piercing eyes that seemed to see straight into her soul.

"Samantha," he said, his voice low and commanding. "I've been searching for you."
