I had anticipated that Mark wouldn’t agree to the divorce so easily.

He still needed my dad’s connections and wouldn’t want to jeopardize that by fighting with me. However, I wasn’t going to stand by and let them drag my name through the mud.

Once discharged from the hospital, I went straight home to gather evidence: our marriage certificate, Mia’s birth certificate, and other important documents.

Then, I headed to the hospital to speak with the director, hoping they’d issue a statement.

As soon as I stepped off the elevator, I saw a crowd gathering outside the office.

“Where’s Anna Miller? Hand over that homewrecker!”

“Yeah! Did she or did she not neglect her duties? Let her come out here and explain herself!”

“My dad’s been on the transplant list for three years. Has she been blocking it behind the scenes?”

“Same here! I questioned her treatment plans, and suddenly my mom’s condition worsened. She’s definitely taking revenge on us!”
