Chapter Sixty-Six

I leaned back in the car seat, my eyes staring out of the car, my heart still racing from my confrontation with him. Josh handed me a tissue to wipe away the tears that had started to fall which I didn't even noticed.

"Feel better now?" he asked, his eyes staring occasionally at me.

I nodded, taking a deep breath. "Yeah, I think so."

Josh put the car in gear and pulled out of the driveway. "Good. Let's get out of here and forget about that jerk for a while."

I gave him a half smile and tossed away the used tissue in my hand.“I don't plan on forgetting about him for a while, I intend doing it for the rest of my life.”

We drove in silence for a while, the only sound being the music playing on the radio. I stared out the window, my mind still reeling from the events of the past week. How everything had gone from perfectly good to bad.

"Hey, Josh?" I said, breaking the silence.

"Yeah?" He hummed a reply nodding his head to the music currently playing.
