Chapter Forty-seven

I looked at the woman before me and all I could feel is unmeasurable love towards her.

This is the same woman my father had shown nothing but dislike. My mother had loved her at first but then hated her after discovering about my complicated relationship with her. Even after all these, she still didn't harbor any string of hate towards them.

I continued staring at her as she lead me back inside the house. The surprised look on my mother's face quickly changed into a smile when she saw me walk inside with my hands entwined with Kacie's.

She didn't say a word, she just walked up to me and hugged me. That's enough to tell me she's glad I came back.

“So where's the celebrant? He's nowhere to be found.” My eyes glanced back to the spot where Rafiq and Miriam had been earlier. They weren't there anymore.

“He's at the office. He should be here any moment from now.”

I chuckled and sat down on the couch closest to the door.“I guess he never changes.”
