Mrs Kane

The car ride was silent as I predicted. Emilio stared out of the widow and I did same. When we drove into his street I knew it immediately. The roads where beautiful with flowers at the side and fancy streetlights.

Large buildings where coming in view and my heart sunk. So .. this will be my new home.

We got to the drive way and the car stopped. The driver rolled down his window and typed something in the intercom and continued with the drive.

My mouth dropped as the mansion came in view. It was larger than the largest hotel on my street. The car stopped directly in front of the large door and I swallowed hard before stepping out.

Silently, I followed Emilio into the mansion and I looked around in n awe.

"Beautiful right?" Emilio said and I snapped out of my day dream. " Yeahh.....it is " I smiled as I looked around the house.

White tiles covered the length of the room leading to french doors at the opposite end leading to the backyard. On my left there was another door.

"It's your home as much as it is mine" he said something nice for the first time since I met him. "I'll introduce you formally to everyone but for now, I know you need rest so I'll show you your room" he said as I followed him.

"Ok" I said I know I badly wanted to ask why not share a room but I guess I should take what I have. "Urm.... My clothes"

" Oh those.... Well I told them to burn everything you brought from your house and fill your wardrobe with new attires. What?

"You ...mean everything I brought"

"Look Adeline.... You're no more the girl you used to be. You're married to a business man who has a reputation to uphold I don't and I expect you as my wife to support that" he smiled but the smile wasn't a nice one. It made my blood boil and freeze.

" Yeah....I uh... understand" I don't know why but I could think straight it was like this was just a nightmare that I'll wake up from soon.

"Good now that we have an understanding let me show you to your room" I sighed as I silently followed him.

After a while, we stopped in front of a door. I mean I think we passed ten doors how big is this house.

"Well this is your room and everything has been set up. But if you need anything my room is just down the hall. And I mean any" he smirked which made my skin crawl.

"Thank you" I forced a smile. He nodded and took off leaving me with my thoughts.

I threw the heels off my feet and I let out a sound of relief as I stretched my toes. It was cramped.

I finally fell on the soft bed that made everything seem better for a short while and I let the tears fall. I cried for my sister, and I cried for my freedom.

My head hurt like crazy as I got out of bed. My mind was clouded with a lot of thoughts that my head felt too heavy on my shoulders.

I had a long shower which helped me clear my mind a little. After I was done, I looked for what to wear which was harder than I expected.

All the dresses where designer and all the blouses looked too expensive to wear indoors.

After a lot of searching, I found some shorts and a plain t-shirt. I smiled into the mirror and I looked like I actually was happy. Good I liked that.

I walked out of my room hesitantly hoping I don't get lost. Everything looked different under morning sun. I saw a door that looked too big to be a room. I slowly walked to the door and pulled it open.

It led me to an opened balcony and the stairs. I smiled at how beautiful it was wow I was living here now. I slowly walked down the stairs running my hands through the well polished bars as I walked down step by step.

As I reached the bottom, I noticed Emilio backing me . He was talking to someone and they seemed to be whispering. I looked around hoping to hide but I couldn't keep my eyes away from him. Ashley was right.

He did look like a god. He was beyond hot. His tanned skin and abs that I could see through his shirt. A loose tie has never looked so good on a human being before. I nearly bit my lip as I snapped out of my head.

Before I could move his eyes met mine. I then managed a smile so he wouldn't suspect anything.

"Oh Adeline" I mean is that how you call your wife. It kinda hurt. " This is Mrs Kane our cook and your personal help" he smiled at her and she immediately took my hand in hers and shook it well.

"Nice you meet you Adeline" she smiled warmly and It felt kinda good.

"You can call me Addy and thank you me too" she smiled and nodded

" Addy it is are you hungry Addy?" She smiled making me smile too.

" Well yes " I shrugged and she laughed.

" You mean he didn't feed you after the ceremony?" She eyed Emilio who just shrugged sipping his coffee. She sighed as she passed me a plate of scrambled eggs "if you're still hungry I can cook some rice"

"No it's fine really this would do" I smiled and she nodded.

After I was done eating, I spent more time with Mrs Kane . She told me alot about her children and her husband. She was such a hard working woman

"Wow .. you're such a strong girl" she said as I told her how I ended up as a hostage cause this isn't a marriage.

It was a prison.
