Walking down again into the mausoleum, the dark hallway that's not at all dangerous swallows me up again as I pass through it. It's like that dark magic that Machiv was talking about. Not necessarily dangerous, just the perception of it, I suppose. I've been somewhat scared of the dark since I was young, but gradually have come to learn through my life that it's nothing dangerous about it. Dark Magic might imply that too in it's basic concept. It's not the dark itself. It's what the dark is used by, what inhabits it, that could possibly be sinister. It's not the deep shadows themselves that want that, maybe never could want it to begin with.
With me is Machiv, Hala, and Lu who I managed to convince to come here. I mentioned the mausoleum after we finished classes, and having some time before our afternoon classes started, I suggested it. They first were a little apprehensive, mostly Lu saying that, I think because he didn't want to do anything dangerous. He loves fun, but danger is not in his DNA. Hala though was on board, and Machiv was interested to the point of telling Lu if he didn't come with us that's fine, and Lu, with his invisible tail frantically wagging, chased after us as we were leaving, deciding to come with us in the end.
The soft blue pool appears in front of me with the room, and I spot Valence floating on the water again. Today he's a little closer to me than to the other side, but is still mesial in position, relatively. I do notice this time though since he's closer that the blazer that is the uniform of CCMS is pulled almost all the way off him, inside out, and sinks below him into the pool, only on his left wrist. The sleeve that lingers there is all that's connected to him, and as the blazer sinks into the pool below him, it's like a dismembered shadow of his. Though, since Valence is closer today, and with the help of the blaze, I can tell that the pool is not shallow but pretty deep, going down what looks like five yards. Though looking at the pool more has my eyes seeing the depth go deeper and deeper. It really seems to be that the pool is deep and then shallow the next moment. It's definitely got to do with the magic of this whole place, and I'm again reminded to be careful around.
"This place is pretty—weird," says Hala, who looks into the pool, and also sees Valence.
"Try not to look too much," says Valence, turning his head while he floats to spot me, "it can do things to you."
"Is this pool magical?" asks Machiv stepping closer but listening to Valence and not staring and also not touching the water, also because I told him and the other two not to beforehand.
"Yes," answers Valence, "it has properties that are magical."
"I'm guessing you won't tell me why you're here though," I say, and Valence smiles a little.
"No, it is not within me to answer that."
"Are you in pain though?" asks Lu.
"Not in a way that you would understand," says Valence, turning slightly and causing a rare ripple.
Machiv moves a little to stand a little away from us, and squints his eyes at Valence, looking at something, while Hala pulls out her purse to fetch a coin.
"Would throwing a coin in cause an issue?" asks Hala to Valence, and before answering he closes his eyes.
"For now, it wouldn't," says Valence, opening his eyes.
Hala nods, and doesn't throw it, but drops it into the water. It causes much more ripples than I expected, and they reach around the whole pool at a very fast speed. But as we watch the coin, it sinks deeper and deeper, disappearing from view as it flutters away into the pool. Moments later, it's back to the deep and shallow cerulean water.
"The depth seems to be ambiguous," says Machiv, "possibly relying on vague magic."
"What's that?" asks Lu.
"Some magic I read up on."
Looking at Valence, his eyes are still closed, but from the way he smiles a little I can tell that Machiv must be right, asserting the type of magic.
"Though, it strikes me that there is more magic at play here."
"What makes you think that?" asks Hala, glancing around.
"I don't know. I need to go back to the library to read some more," says Machiv.
"As if you don't do enough of that already," says Lu with a laugh, and Hala and I are laughing a little too.
Glancing at Valence, his eyes reopen again, and looks at the four of us with an expression caught between melancholy and adoration. But then he closes his eyes and he drifts a little, turning his body.
"This is a stupid question," says Hala to Valence, "but students are allowed in here, right?"
"I do not know," says Valence, "the school rules are not within my jurisdiction. Though, I would say, if you were able to walk in here, then you are most likely allowed."
"What is your jurisdiction?" asks Machiv, and Valence looks over at him.
"That—is not something I should disclose."
"Are you a teaching tool?" asks Machiv.
"Not quite, though I do have knowledge of magic."
"Maybe you can help us with homework!" suggests Lu excitedly.
I understand why Lu is excited though, Even though we're all not struggling in classes, there are certain topics in majestic theory, and for me in math too, that I could use help in.
"Yeah, good idea," says Hala, and turns to Valence, "it seems like you don't get a great deal of customers here, so we'll stop by often for questions on magic. You seem smart, and we're not."
"I—I might like that," says Valence, and smiles again.
"What fields of magic are you well acquainted with?" asks Machiv, and I see Lu smile at Hala, both of them laughing at the visible hunger Machiv has for knowledge, not that it's bad, just something we all adore about him.
"I'm very well acquainted with Verse Theorem, and a specialist on the topic. I also understand some amount of integral magic."
"Can you explain the schools of magic to me? I have a hard time understanding it," says Lu with some desperation.
I smile as I recall earlier that both Hala and Machiv tried to explain the concept, but Lu had some trouble. He doesn't have class with Mrs. Loop, but with a different Majestic Theory teacher, and I guess that one isn't the same as Mrs. Loop.
"The schools of magic in simple terms are the major ideas on what magic does," says Valence simply, "why and how magic is used for what. That's the central aim."
"So, I understand Classical and Parallel, but what's with Hypermodern and Walpurgis?" asks Lu.
"Walpurgis is magic that emerged in the dark ages," says Valence, "it has at its center the mission of individuals, and individuals who use this magic are focused on the goals they have, or that of others. It has magic that deals with death reversal and the bending of minds. Hypermodern came around in the last century, and is much younger. The best way to remember Hypermodern is that it indirectly controls whatever it wants to. If fire is to be created, it is the flint and stone that is manipulated, not the actual fire itself."
"See, that I can understand," says Lu while pointing and nodding.
"What school of magic are you?" asks Hala, and Valence doesn't answer immediately.
"Erm, don't worry about that," says Valence, and he turns in place to hide his face a little.
"Eh, well, I'm thinking I'm not sure what magic school I am," says Hala.
"It's said that the individual and school find each other, not one over the other," says Valence, and smiles, "you'll know it when you do. And it's not distinctly crucial to using magic."
"I have no idea what that means," says Hala honestly with a shrug.
"You will, one day."
Hala and Lu, along with I, continue to talk, while Machiv hops in every now and then to ask a very specifying question, but he observes more than he talks. Valence floated near the middle, but comes closer. Not that too close, but closer than before. I take it that he's a little more invested in talking to us, and smiles his sad smile as he converses with us.
A wind picks up just as the bell rings, and we have to get going.
"Alright, well," says Hala as she glances at her watch and her pearl earrings shift their orbs of shadows and light, "we have to get going, but we'll be back later. I have club, but now I know that you're here, I guess homework will be a little easier."
"Yeah! You're better than some of my teachers," says Lu as we begin to move away from the pool, "see you later!"
We wave as we leave, and Valence raises his hand up to the wrist out of the pool to wave back. I smile, and then we start to head toward the classes we have next. I guess he really does enjoy our presence. I'm guessing he's a little older than us, at least, his appearance indicates that. So, all in all, he's like an upperclassman that us newbie students are bothering. Hopefully, we're not a nuisance, and from how Valence seems to enjoy our presence, I'm going to say he likes us around. And, he says as such, so I can appreciate going to spend time there.
Heading out across the garden, other students who spent their time in here during lunch break are going in to their next classes too. It's warm still out, being Florida again, and the breeze that continues to blow is fresh. I've been to the other gardens, but I'm thinking this might be the nicest one, since it is the biggest, and maybe it lets the most wind blow in and allow the air to be new and vitalizing all the time.
"What class do you have next?" I ask Hala, and she thinks for a moment before answering, "History."
"Oh, me too," I say, "but it's different classes."
"Yeah, I'm with Hala," says Machiv, "Syl will be there."
Hala's lips twitch a little, recalling how Syl can't seem to get the guts to interact with Machiv outside of friendly banter.
Waving to the three this time, I head on over to me history class. I make it in and take a seat. We changed out seats recently and now Keito serendipitously sits next to me. Well, in this class the seats are placed in the blanks of the next row. That way, Keito is next to me but more to my right and forward, but not exactly diagonal.
His usual large form and mask has me smile and greet him, saying, "Hey Keito. How're you today?"
"I'm well. You?"
"I'm alright. I went with Lu, Hala, and Machiv to visit the mausoleum I was talking about."
"I see," replies Keito, nodding, and I remember that he's not disinterested, just not one of many words.
"I will go next time to see," says Keito, saying something from himself, which is a pleasant surprise.
"Okay! Are you interested too?" I ask curiously.
"Yes. Somewhat," replies Keito, nodding again.
"I'll show you to it when I stop by next time," I say as the teacher walks in, and Keito nods before we both turn to pay attention and be good students.
The topic today has moved on from the beginning topics, and mostly revolves around the Egyptians and Mesopotamians. I think I remember Hala saying she wish she was in Egypt to look at the type of jewelry they had on, and I nodded along because I have an affinity for silver, which might've not been as popular back then was definitely there. I'm sure they didn't have anything like my box-chain, but whatever else they did have would pique my interest to look at.
After writing down the last few pieces of information about the Old and Middle Kingdom in Egypt along with Babylon Calendar, I pack up my belongings and head out with Keito. Walking some amount through the hallway I part ways with him and head to my last class for the day. It's just math, and spotting Hala and Tula has me smiling and waving, and during the class nothing else particularly happens.
"Alright, well, I gotta go to basketball practice," says Hala to me while picking up her backpack, "I'll see ya at dinner."
"Alright. Tell Morgan I said hi," I say.
"I will," says Hala, and heads off.
"Do you have track practice today?" I ask Tula, and she nods, her dark hair shiny and graceful.
"Yeah. It was raining yesterday, so coach is probably going to try and crank in more today."
"Ooh. Well, good luck," I say with a smile, and Tula returns it.
"I'll need it. Thanks."
"See you at dinner."
Heading through the crowded halls, I'm just turning a corner when I spot Iverson. He's quite near, near enough to hear him and him me, and after a mutual shy smile we're conversing.
"Hey, uh, Revel, right?" asks Iverson, and I notice that he's about an inch taller than me.
"Yeah. Um, Iverson?"
"Yeah."
"I think Machiv introduced me to your existence, as he would say it," I say with a smile, and Iverson laughs.
"Yeah, Machiv tends to be blunt in his wording. He'd say something like that."
"You're in my class, right?" I ask, and he nods.
"Yeah, though, to be honest, I might've not been able interact with you enough to cement that in either of our memories."
"It's alright," I say, "I don't want to be rude, the first interaction I recall with you was when we almost bumped into one another. On the first day of school."
"Yeah, there was that," says Iverson, laughing, and I return it, maybe because I just want to mirror him, for whatever reason.
"Oh, uh, my name's Leonard, Leonard Iverson. I didn't properly introduce myself, didn't I?" says Leonard, as I know him now, and reaches out a hand.
"No, but I didn't either," I say with a jovial manner, and shakes his hand too, a soft one, "I'm Revel. Revel Ester."
"Nice meeting you, Revel," says Leonard, his cheeks a little pink, "um—"
"Are you single?" I ask first, and my interruption makes Leonard light up with a smile, and I laugh.
"Y-yeah," says Leonard, and fumbles for his phone, which I pull out mine too, but don't slip it out from my grip, "can I have you number?"
"I was going to ask," I say, and Leonard smiles, and gives me his, and me to him.
"You're pretty outgoing, aren't you?" asks Leonard suddenly, and I halt before thinking and smiling.
"I guess," I say, "it might just be that I'm impulsive recently. I'm not usually so, but maybe it's a new habit of mine that I've made since I came here."
"Because the school is nice?" asks Leonard with some understanding.
"Yeah, exactly," I say, smiling, can't stop smiling around Leonard, "since I came here."
"I know what you mean," says Leonard, and then I can't find anything to say, and we seem to just stand in each others presence.
"Well, I've gotta go to swim practice, but I'll message you later," says Leonard, breaking the silence between us and putting his phone away, and I smile again.
"I look forward to it."
Leonard nods, before going off. I look at him as he does, turn away, start to walk, but find myself turning around to look at him. I'm surprised to see him glance back, and our eyes connect, and this time it's the both of us blushing and turning away quickly. I don't turn back again, but I do find myself skipping a little, as I make my way back to the dorms, and smile both on my face and inside.
Glancing at my phone, I smile as the last message Leonard sent me is read by my eyes again, and I walk into my majestic theory class where Hala and Syl are already present. Glancing around has me spot Leonard, and he waves to me, surrounded by his friends in this class, and I wave back, heading over to my usual seat which is not with him, but there's not that much time to chat anyways. Though, I nod to him and I think he knows why I'm not going over now, and nods back with a smile. I promise to talk in-person with him later. I'm not complaining about the little text messages he sends me and causes me to be pink all over, but talking face-to-face has its own nice allure. "Hey," I say as I approach Hala and Syl. "Hi, Revel!" says Hala, smiling and her pearls on her ears glistening as she turns her head, "I thought you'd never arrive." "Well, now I'm here," I say with a laugh. "History just as interesting as usual?" asks Syl to me, and I nod while taking a seat. "You could sa
Looking over my shoulder, I look around to see of Leonard is around, since I did text him earlier that I wanted to know if he could go into town on Sunday, since I would be. I haven't exactly told anybody about my relationship, I think my fluttering heart wants to call it that, to anyone in my gang. Though, since Hala and Machiv have already gathered what seems to be the crucial mechanisms of it I might not have to tell them if they decide to. Well, maybe they're not ones to share that kind of information. I know Hala is talkative, but she doesn't strike me as a person who can't keep a secret. Machiv also is not the type of person to just blabber silly banter. He's got discretion, while Hala's got consideration. I can trust that much in them. It's just at the end of classes, and the hallways where I am right now are crowded with teens and teachers who go about, with the occasional shouting over the talkative teens not an uncommon sight. It's is quite noisy, and it's something peop
"You sure that Leonard is going to show up?" asks Syl, having learned the name of what I introduced as a new friend I made. "Yeah," I say with a nod, "that's what I've been informed about." "Hope he comes soon," says Syl, glancing at his phone, "the bus will be here soon and he'll be late to go into town." "I think he'll make it," I say. "Yeah," says Machiv, the in-between method that introduced Leonard to me, "I know Leonard. He'll be here." "You know this guy?" asks Lu, who's also here with us today along with Thames, Tula, Hala, Morgan, and Keito. "Yeah," says Machiv, "met him the first day I got here." "How?" asks Morgan curiously. "He's across the hall from Keito and I in the dorms," explains Machiv nonchalantly. "Oh. Makes sense." Syl looks at Machiv with some pouting, but Machiv glances it off and goes back to reading. Standing at the bus stop outside of CCMS, we all wait for the bus we took before to pick us up and take us into town. Not many other teens
"This seriously is a lot of work," I state with a sigh that's long as the list of things I need to do. "Yeah," says Hala, "I'm not sure which is worse. The fact that I'm winded already, or that I have to still keep doing this." The four of us, Hala, Syl, Machiv, and I, are at one of the long tables in the school library. We managed to borrow laptops from the counter at the front of the library, and we spend our time working on our majestic theory rpesentation. Being Wednesday, most clubs are off, and the four of us are gathered here after all our classes to get the work in. Syl, and Machiv which was surprising, weren't exactly thoughtful of taking this opportunity to work on it, while I and Hala already talked and decided to. "I mean, we just went into town?" said Machiv, which was funny to say the least. I can understand what he's indicating though. We did indeed finish the first step for our project. I'm thinking that if you split the project itself into steps, then it'd
"There's some mystery though," I say while leading the two of us, Leonard and I, ooh I like that, to Valence's Mausoleum, "about Valence." "Like what?" asks Leonard, his curiosity focused on me. "Well—" I say, the many details that are mysterious coming to mind, "where to start. There's—" Leonard and I happen to just be walking around in the hall toward the garden, when a particular girl with curly black hair, a little more curly than Hala's, nearly storms into the two of us, and gives both of us a horrible look. Though, she disappears just as quick as she appears, and I don't have to worry about her except in the memory of her I try to erase. Leonard and I look at each, confused, then look at the spot the girl was, and then turn to each to each other again. Shrugging it off, we continue walking. "Um, anyways, uh, what was that?" I ask, making sure she's not around as we walk out into the garden. "Oh, I think that was Aya. She's a load of trouble," says Leonard, not with
"Have you decided what to do with the Halloween dress-up thing?" asks Syl to me, since we're all sitting around in Majestic Theory class, during class, studying while Mrs. Loop going around helping students. The current session is a study day, since toward the middle of November, we'll have mid-terms. It's not that all the topics that needs to be covered until mid-terms is as such, but we're on a good pace, so Mrs. Loop thought we'd pause on learning more, and instead try to review anything if anybody had trouble learning it in the first try. I've never had one of those sessions in my life up until now in academia, but I appreciate it and take advantage of it. There are a handful of topics that could use a little more attention from me, and this is the perfect opportunity that Mrs. Loop is providing that I can't miss, and won't because I want to appreciate her smart and really kind gesture. "Not really," I say, and nod at Machiv, "Machiv and I are talking about maybe just colori
Using Hala's compact, I glance at my silver necklace, observing the nice shine it has when deflecting light into my eyes as glistening reflections. Mr. Hoyt really has nice silver, and I should find a job so I can go and buy some more silver. He's a good business I want to support. Plus, when it comes to spending money, I've grown up hearing many times that silver, as well as other metals, are very good investments. Especially when it comes to the type of jewelry you purchase. It's got something to do with how the jewelry piece that lasts a great deal of time is treasured, while more delicate and somewhat shattered pieces aren't really interesting for the market to look at. Though, thinking about it now, to when I've been to a few antique stores and jewelry shops with vintage jewelry, I've seen pretty delicate and breakable pieces that fetch very high prices. So, after thinking about this for a few mintues, I'm not confused on what kind of jewelry I should invest my money in. Th
"I still feel a little, obsolete, I guess, not wearing anything on a day like Halloween," I say, seeing as how many of the other teens in school are a little more special looking with colors they don't usually have placed into their attire. That's just the tame side of things, while other teens have gone all-out with the constumes. There's a T-rex and a fariy queen chatting and walking by, and in one of the doorways I can spot a teen in a bee costume. There's even a teacher who has a crazy-scientist wig on, who is merrily talking and holding up a pumpking for another faculty member, dressed in the star and moon robe of a wizard. "Eh, don't sweat it," says Syl, who does have plastic vampire teeth in his mouth, "it's nothing important. Besides, you only had a week, tops, to get ready. It's not even required. So who cares?" "Maybe you can get something along the way," says Hala, "find a few flowers stick it behind your ear and be pretty." "I think if you take it casually, it's
I don't say anything out loud, because Hala and Syl are looking through the other grates, but I do wave them over. They tip-toe quietly to where I am, and see Machiv. They must know that we've found a strong ally, because they both nod and grin slightly. Hala approaches the grate we can see Machiv in, and quietly, Hala begins to whisper up to him. "Machiv, it's Hala," she says quietly, and quickly adds on, "you don't have to answer." Machiv seems to be leaning against the wall the grate sits next to, and a moment ago was quietly sitting. After Hala talks, he perks up slightly, but understands he needs to remain strictly inconspicuous, and doesn't say anything. I also realize that on the other side of the grate, is Hila. So Hila and Machiv sit with the grate between the two of them. Both of them are very good friends to see, and I find myself grinning more. "I'm with Revel and Syl," continues Hala, whispering up to Machiv and Hila, "we're in the grate between the two of you,
We maneuver around a shelf to put a physical obstacle between us. Continuing to crouch low, we sidle down the aisle before turning and stopping at the end. The feet of the two terrorists in here continue to move around, and the three of us know they're chasing us. "What do we do?" I whisper, much quieter than ever, and the two of them with the cloaking spell starting to disintegrate are very much visible. "I don't know," whispers back Hala, glancing through a bookshelf to try and see how far they are. "If they're in here," says Syl as he looks around, "that must mean there are terrorists all in the hall. That means the garden is the only way out." "How about Valence's Mausoleum?" whispers Hala, "That's probably our best shot." "You're right," I say, and glance around, "Valence might be able to do something." A menacing sound of a shelf being kicked sounds, and we all nod and begin to move toward the door to the garden. It's about half of the library away, but that co
Not making any unnecessary sound or an extra noise, as well as maintaining maximum silence, the three of us head toward the dorms. They stand silent and empty from what I know, and in case any of those terrorists are around, we hide behind the many trees and shrubs that are abundant within the campus of CCMS. In another setting the foliage would probably serve to be useful for students sneaking out, and now too, students are using it to sneak around. "Do we want to try and get into the dorms and see if anybody is safe?" I ask as we crouch behind a particularly dense cluster of bushes over which a tree stands. "I don't know, it might be risky," says Syl, "I'm thinking that going places we don't need to in order to save everyone could be an unneeded risk in itself." "That's true," whispers Hala as she nods, "but it could also be the case that some of the teachers or students could be in the dorms, and they could sneak out too." "If only we could text people," whispers Syl as h
"Did Tula send us the list yet?" I ask as I push around the shopping cart. "No. She's trying to compile it now," says Hala. "It must mean that they're really hectic," says Syl as he reaches up to the top shelf to grab some sprinkles, since he is the tallest anyways, and puts it in the cart. "Oh, wait," says Hala as he phones dings and a messages pops up, "just got it. And—we need to head over to produce." "Do we need tomatoes?" asks Syl. "That and other things," says Hala, "we also need basil, peppers, lemons, and some apples." "Oh yeah, we had dessert pizzas too," I recall. "I'm guessing we're buying canned pineapples?" asks Syl as we walk with purpose toward a different part of the supermarket. "Yeah, that'll probably help since we won't have to cut the thing and then pull the core out." "Smart move," I say as we arrive at the produce. Moving quickly while keeping in mind how we need to hurry, we gather the produce, head over to dairy while keeping our shoes on,
Getting up, the atmosphere of the early morning has a buzz that's not always present, and I know without anybody telling me that it's Open Day. I mean, yesterday at dinner in the Great Hall, Doctor Cartwright made a speech telling us that it's going to be an exciting day, but because we will be representing CCMS to behave and act in proper manner. Now, recalling that speech as I get dressed and then heading out into the hall, I'm excited for the day. We did manage to finish setting up the billboards and posters advertising 62-A in time, and Hala also passed out the bandanas. I slip a hand in my pocket to confirm that I have it there, having made sure these pants would have it yesterday night. I don't know how I'm supposed to tie it, or where exactly, but I'll have Leonard help me out later. Going to the Great Hall, passing yawning faces along the way, as well as energized ones too, I sit down. At this moment, Syl, Lu, Tula, and Thames are here. Other tables around ours are filli
Walking into history class again, I spot Keito at his spot, and wave while going over. He waves and nods silently, his usual greeting. "I'm glad that you didn't tell me what it was your class was doing," I say with a grin as I sit down with Keito, but also keep my voice down so it's not known to everyone what 62-B is doing. "Did Leonard ask?" asks Keito, and I can hear the smile in his mellow voice. "Yep, he did," I say, "and now I'm a million dollars." "I'm glad to hear that," says Keito, "Leonard was very invested in asking you." "Did you know?" I ask in the moment, though I already know the answer. "Yes," says Keito, "I was informed." "Man, I've gotta keep an eye out more. Thinking everyone has something planned behind my back." "Aw, don't say that," says Keito, "it's nothing bad." "Yeah, you're right," I say with a nod, "is the dance the only thing 62-B is doing?" Keito doesn't answer immediately, tilting his head then answers, "No, but I can't disclose the
Mrs. Loop walks in, and immediately flicks her hand with her ring on to make the markers write another congratulating message for the basketball teams. All the other teachers in classes I've been to up until now have replicated this to some amount, bring in snacks and chocolates, letting us push a quiz off to a week from now, or even cancelling all the quizzes planned until the finals. All in all, Syl, Lu, Keito, and the basketball team in general could be the heroes of CCMS. Which leads to Syl grinning from ear to ear every time a teacher does this kind of thing for him. Thankfully he's been through most of his classes already so there won't be any more after this, but it still is obvious that Syl is getting quiet a bit of praise. Thankfully though, he doesn't get too haughty, maybe plateauing at a level slightly above his usual amount of excessive confidence. "I'd say congratulations like the rest of the teachers," says Mrs. Loop with a grin, "but instead, I'll improvise and
It turns out that Open Day has a lot of interest from CCMS because the schedules for classes is cut in half for the week before it. Usually the morning only has classes while the afternoon is vacated for preparations. Sometimes the afternoons have the classes while the mornings are dedicated to the upcoming Open Day, though the schedule switch doesn't at all present any trouble for most of us. There was the morning sessions of class today, and the two that were held, in my experience, was history and math. Keito and I talked, and I thought to ask him what his class was doing, but I only asked if it would be proper to ask him if it's alright to. He answered in his usual terse but friendly manner that he wanted it to be a surprise for me. I grinned and said that'd be a good idea. For now, the preparations of class 62-A are going along pretty nicely. We did manage to get a formal permission from the Student Council body that does allow us to serve food and specifically the pizzas.
The last quarter for both teams is the moment everyone has been waiting for. Nobody is as invested in the previous quarters as this one and all the tension is as high as the spire on CCMS. I'm certain that everyone is leaning forward collectively for this game, and nobody is going to look away at any moment. The whistle is blown, and this time it's with CCMS on the offense. Lu has the ball, not as sure as Syl of how well his brother can play, and he dribbles a little slower than usual with the ball down the court. Eventually though, he does get boxed in, and tosses the ball to Syl. Syl gets it, and because the 11 kid is off the court until this game is over, he doesn't worry about being hit again. It takes him a little longer, since his head is bandaged the the sensation is new to him, but eventually he does shoot and get two points. He smiles slightly as the ball moves down through the hoop, and he seems to smile at himself, now aware that he can still play despite his inju
