Mona stood still and looked at the man beside her coldly. “We’re not marrying, so I’m free to go wherever I want.”

Thaddeus took Mona’s hand and intertwined their fingers. His almond-shaped eyes were deep as ink.

“I tore up the agreement. If you don’t want to sign it, that’s fine. It’s not that you don’t want to marry; you’re just in a bad mood. Go back and rest. We’ll remarry once I’ve arranged everything at home.”
