Twenty Nine.

I could smell it. The droplets of blood on the forest floor. I wanted it. I wanted to taste it. I wanted to sink my teeth into something.

My feet pound the forest floor. Diving between the trees with ease as I followed the trail of crimson. A few spots here and there, but enough to scent.

I didn’t care if Nate followed. I just wanted one thing and I wasn’t stopping until I found it.

The forest was quiet. Apart from the little critters running around trying to hide from me.

It felt amazing, feeling the wind in my fur as I moved. Though the tail was a weird thing. It was like it had a mind of its own.

There was no one, just me.

I slow down to a trot, taking in everything around me. The trees were tall, blocking out all sunlight. Autumn leaves littered the grounds, burying my feet ankle deep. The scents of the forest were strong but not strong enough to cover the blood.

Nate calls for me in the distance. I wasn’t ready to go to him. I was hungry.
