Banished And Rejected

Cecilia's POV :

I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Death? Did Caleb just said death? He really wanted me dead?

But I didn’t do anything! Why did he blame me first, instead of trusting me?

He wasn't like this once.

I still remember a time when I fought as a warrior against rogues who invaded our pack. Someone accused me of colluding with the rogues and letting them in.

Caleb firmly believed in me at that time. He insisted on investigating the truth, and my name was cleared as a result.

But now, he wanted to punish me for something I didn't do. He held his mate while I kneeled on the ground, looking up at him. The distance between us was just a step, yet it felt like a vast canyon.

But deep down in my heart, I was sure he was the same man who had supported me through thick and thin. I could feel his warmth around me, and still wanted to believe that he didn't want to hurt me.

I didn't give in. How could I? He was the one who told me I could defend myself against anyone if they did injustice to me.

"Caleb, you need to trust me. I didn't try to kill Bianca. I don't know where that packet of wolfsbane dust came from. You can't just kill me because your mate was hurt! You have betrayed my trust too. Please, Caleb…" I tried my best to defend myself and my last words were almost a whisper.

I saw his expression loosen up a bit. Just when I felt he was listening to me, Bianca pretended to be in pain and hissed intentionally. She tried to push him over the edge.

This vile woman! I wasn't going to give in my life because she wanted me dead and out of her life.

"There is proof and you are given the death penalty. It's your own jealousy that made you do this!" One of the elders around said in a cruel tone.

Many people were whispering. And I could feel their gazes piercing me like knives. Their words felt like a rope tightening around my neck, slowly suffocating me.

“I can't believe she's so evil!”

“Luckily she won’t be our Luna.”

“She should give her life for her jealousy.”

As I heard their malicious words, my blood ran cold. How could they so easily judge me? They didn't know the truth at all!

"Alpha Caleb, please make your judgment. For the peace of our pack, you should condemn her to death." The elders were forcing Caleb to make the decision immediately.

“Please Caleb, trust me…” I looked at him with a glimmer of hope in my chest.

“I…” Caleb was about to say something but was interrupted by Bianca.

"Wait, Caleb. For the sake of your friendship for all those years, don't kill her."

I snapped my head towards her. Really? Was she pleading on my behalf?

“How about sending her off to the omega slave camp? She should suffer for the conspiracy. " Bianca chuckled, as if she let out a really funny joke.

Fear gripped my heart, a crippling feeling passing through my blood.

Omega Slave Camp. That’s definitely worse than death!

It was a hellhole for wolves where they didn't have any right or freedom. The slaves would be bound in the basement until a master came to buy them. And the people who visited that slave camp were monsters in human skin.

"No, Caleb! Please don't! Don’t send me there!”I cried out desperately.

“I’m sorry, Ceci…” He sighed and then said firmly, “But I have to.”

Tears filled my eyes, and I could barely see his face.

For the first time, he felt like a stranger to me.

"I, Alpha Caleb, of the Black Crescent Pack, banish Cecilia to the Omega slave camp for the rest of her life! "

I felt a deadly pain, like my heart was being torn in two. I heard Riley whimper in agony. The guards peeled me off from the altar. The pain of losing my pack mark made my wolf so weak and miserable. Soon, I turned into a lifeless body.

I looked over at Caleb desperately. My eyes pleaded with him to rescue me and tell me that he respected our love and at least friendship but I was wrong.

He just stood there, holding his mate. I saw Bianca kiss Caleb in a flaunting manner. I could hear my heart shattered into pieces.
