CHAPTER TWO

TYLER’S POV

Since that time in the woods where she helped me when my leg was caught in a trap while I was in my wolf form, this was the first time I was seeing her.

She had grown more beautiful than before, her curly jet black which cascaded down her back and her slim but fit body.

Her pale skin and small lips with a pointy nose which my arched to touch but I had to suppress it.

I knew she was my mate since that night but since she didn't sense I knew that she wasn't of age and decided to be patient with her.

“But you've grown even more beautiful,” I said to her, not able to take my eyes away from her.

“You know me?” She asked but I ignored her question and turned to her family.

The only reason I wasn't going to punish them was because I knew Kat wouldn't like it.

All these years, I secretly watched Kat and saw how she suffered at their hands. On several occasions, I was tempted to talk to her mom to try to treat her well but was stopped by Kayden, my beta.

But then her stepdad came into my casino and gambled, giving me this opportunity.

“This wasn't what I asked you to do. I clearly remember telling you to reject your mate when you find her. Elayne here is the perfect match for you,” My mom walked to us and said, making me sigh.

“This is my mate which the moon goddess gave to me. I won't reject her just to Elayne here who finds it difficult to close her legs whenever she sees a man,” I growled using my Alpha aura making them shiver with fear.

Kat and her family stood watching the drama unfold with surprised looks on their faces.

I blamed the werewolf society for turning away from our traditions.

These days mates could reject each other and get married to anyone they loved but I wasn't going to do that because I felt that was an insult to the moon goddess.

“But I love you,” Elayne said trying to sound sweet and I heard a low growl emanate from Kat making me smirk.

“He is mine,” She said possessively, making Elayne and my mom glared at her.

“Let’s go,” I grabbed Kat’s hands and began to lead her out of the event hall.

I didn't say a word to her family and Kat didn't look like she wanted to talk to them either.

Reaching outside, Kayden, my beta, and Noah, my gamma walked to me.

“Tyler, wouldn't you want our Luna to pack her things?” Kayden asked me.

“She’ll have everything she needs in our pack,” I answered and they got into cars while Kat and I got into my car and we all drove off.

When we got to my pack, I smiled with satisfaction when I saw Kat looking around in awe.

Throughout the car ride, she didn't say a word to me and I didn't either because I was giving her terms with all that had happened.

“This is your house?” She asked me.

“Our house,” I corrected and saw her smile shyly but quickly stopped smiling.

“I heard you are ruthless and my family sent me here thinking you would make me suffer. Now the question is that, will you?” She asked me, trying to look tough which made me chuckle.

Yeah, I heard the rumors about myself and I let it be that way so everyone would fear me and therefore not dare to cross me.

“Now let me ask you this question. If your dad was to be an Alpha, and he easily orders the deaths of innocent pack members and did not stop there but always assaulted your mom. Wouldn’t you do something to stop him?” I asked her.

“Uhm… I would,” She answered.

“Good, that was the same thing I did. That was why I ended my father's reign as Alpha of Wolfstorm pack. But I didn't kill him like the rumors would have it, I promise,” I assured her.

She looked at me for a while and then nodded her head in understanding.

“Your Dad is here,” Noah walked up to us and said when he alighted from his car.

“What's he doing here?” I asked and my jaw hardened.

“He wants to see your mate,” Kayden answered, making my jaw harden.

My Dad and I weren’t on good terms after I threatened him with a knife when I had enough of his tyrant behavior.

He only left the Alpha position to me because of one reason.

“And so is your mom and your mate-to-be,” My mom said, gaining our attention as she stood with Elayne.

“Let’s go inside,” I grabbed Kat’s hands and led her into my house while the rest followed.

Reaching inside, my Dad was seated on the sofa peeling an apple. He smiled evilly when he looked at Kat.

“Welcome daughter-in-law,” He said more cheerfully than I knew he normally would, which made me fear that it had begun again.

“Thank you, Alpha….” She wanted to continue but was abruptly cut mid-sentence by my Dad.

“Nonsense, call me father,” He smiled and came to hug Kat but I pulled her towards me.

“Come on, don't be stingy with your mate,” He chuckled and we all just watched knowing what was going on except innocent Kat who was just coming into the family.

“Come on honey, why don't we come another time?” My mom said to Dad trying to lure him out of the house.

“Shut up you bitch,” He glared up, making Kat flinch and I held her closer while Kayden and Noah began advancing toward my Dad slowly.

“Father….” Elayne wanted to continue but was cut mid-sentence by my Dad.

“I’m not your father, you slut,” He said and ran to pick up the knife he was using to peel the apples but before he could reach Elayne and attempt to stab her, Noah and Kayden had already apprehended him and collected the knife from his hand.

“New girl. You better run away from my son while you can,” He said, struggling to get out of Kayden and Noah’s hold on him.

“Why?” Kat asked with creased brows.
