CHAPTER THREE

KATHRINE’S POV

“My dad is suffering from bipolar disorder,” Alpha Tyler said, making my mouth form an O shape.

This explained why his Dad was acting in a way that I thought was weird.

Alpha Tyler looked angry and embarrassed at the same time which was understandable because today was the first day I was setting foot in their house and this happened.

If I were in his shoes I’d feel the same way.

Elayne cried and ran out clearly offended by the name Tyler’s dad called her and Tyler’s mom chased after her.

“We’ll take him to his house,” Tyler Beta and Gamma chorused in unison before they walked out leaving just Tyler and I.

I never knew that the mate bond felt so strong because here I was loving a guy I just met, and the fact that he looked hot with his black tousled hair and tall physique didn’t make matters easy for me.

It felt like a pull, I wanted to roam my hands all over his body, feeling his muscles and to clarify if his skin felt as good as it looked.

“Follow me,” He said in a commanding tone and I rolled my eyes.

I guess no matter how sweet an Alpha was they always had this commanding and domineering attitude that they could never tame. It’s like it’s part of them.

But I still followed him. The house was exquisite with modern furniture and designs.

This pack was the wealthiest of all packs so I wasn’t surprised that his house was this good. We climbed upstairs and stopped at the last room in the hallway.

He opened the door like a gentleman and waited for me to go in before he came in and closed the door.

My mouth hung open in awe as I looked around. The size of this room was the size of my room and Eloise’s room combined.

It had dull colors just the way I wanted my dream room to be.

“This will be our room but it’s okay if you don’t feel comfortable enough to sleep here with me. You can…..” He was interrupted by me.

“You’re my mate and let’s not deny the bond and attraction we already feel for each other,” I slurred as I began to take slow steps towards him, and my wolf, Madeline, began to purr in my head.

I had never been this straightforward with a guy since I was born but saying that to him felt good.

He smirked and began to walk toward me too. I was glad that his anger and embarrassment had died down.

He leaned in to kiss me but I dodged because I had never thought about doing this with a man since after that fateful night I was raped.

“What’s wrong?” He frowned as he looked at me with creased brows.

I never told anyone about how I was raped and just focused on healing from the traumatic event. I have suffered from nightmares for three years now.

Maybe it’s time to let go, I thought to myself as I took a step closer to Alpha Tyler who patiently stood waiting for me to respond to him.

When there was no space left between us, I stood on my toes and wrapped my hands around his neck.

As I looked into Tyler's dark, intense gaze, my heartbeat quickened.

His strong arms encircled me, making me feel small and protected in his embrace.

His muscular chest pressed against mine, sending a wave of heat through my body.

While I stared up at him, I couldn't help but feel that there was something magnetic about this man, something that made me feel safe and secure, even in the midst of all this uncertainty and chaos around us.

The moment our lips came in contact, it ignited sparks of pleasure in me I had never felt before. My heart begins to pound.

It was wonderful and I wanted to feel more of it. That was when Tyler wrapped his hands around my waist and wanted to deepen the kiss. I pulled from our kiss but remained in his arms.

“There is something I should tell you,” I said and watched as he looked at me as though I was his most prized possession.

“What is it, Love?” He asked me softly.

“I’m no longer a virgin, I was raped three years before I saved you in the woods,” I said nervously as I heard an angry growl reverberate from his lips.

I had never brought up this topic in front of anyone because the more I thought about it, the more I was pained.

Seeing Alpha Tyler react this way reassured me that I was now in safe hands.

“I promise to give you the head of the person who did that,” He said with his eyes blazing with fury, making me shake my head in negation.

“That’s all in the past. His face was masked so I have no clue who it was. Let’s forget about all that,” I said trying to hide the fact that this topic stirred up emotions in me that I didn’t want.

He leaned in and claimed my lips, melting all the pent-up anger and sadness I felt after bringing up the topic of my rape and replacing it with raw desire and pleasure.

Deepening our kiss and still in each other’s arms, we found ourselves on the bed.

That was the beginning of the countless orgasms we had that day and eventually slept off due to exhaustion at night

The sound of Alpha Tyler’s phone ringing woke us both and he planted a kiss on my forehead which sent tingles down my body before he picked up the call and put the call on loudspeaker.

“Hey buddy,” His beta’s voice boomed from the speakers of Alpha Tyler’s phone.

“What’s up?” He answered and drew me closer to him and began to plant kisses all over my face.

Being with Alpha Tyler brought me a kind of peace that I had never experienced before. He made me feel safe, loved and wanted.

“Stop, he might hear us,” I mouthed and giggled, making him lift his hands in surrender. He was indeed a sweet fellow.

“Kathrine’s family are here to see you,” He informed us making Alpha Tyler and I pause and look at his phone with creased brows.

What were they doing here so early? I smelled something fishy going on. I knew my family and they would never come here this early unless it was something serious.

“Tell them we’ll be with them shortly,” He answered and the call ended.

“We don’t have to go see them if you don’t want to,” He said to me with a concerned look on his face.

I then knew that he was aware of the way my family treated me. I was embarrassed that he knew but I hid it with a smile hoping I didn’t look nervous.

“We should. I’m curious to know why they are here,” I answered and got down from our bed.

If my family were here to embarrass me then I didn’t have to do anything because I knew Alpha Tyler would put them in their place.

Alpha Tyler was reluctant but still followed me downstairs and when we got there, we saw my mom, Eloise, and my stepdad.

When they saw Alpha Tyler, they all stood up and bowed slightly to show their respect.

But the way they answered my greeting made me feel like I was nothing to them. But I acted like I was unaffected by their attitude.

“Why are you here?” Alpha Tyler asked them with a straight face after I was done greeting them.

“Uhm…. We are here regarding the money I owe you. I know initially the plan was that we give Kat to you but now we are here to tell you to reject her and get married to our daughter Eloise instead,” My Step Dad said much to my surprise.

The fact that my Mom nodded in support broke my heart. Like every other child, I craved love and affection from my mom but those were the things she never showed me.

How could she accept this? First, she forced me to get married to someone who wasn’t my mate and I did as she asked and now she was here with them telling Alpha Tyler to reject me and marry Eloise?

My heart broke because of their betrayal.

“Why?” Alpha Tyler asked with hardened jaws, I knew he was already provoked but why he was holding back from lashing out at them was what I didn’t know.

“Because Eloise is the best choice for you. Initially, I didn’t know you were this nice and that’s why I gave you Kat. But now that we know who you truly are, that is why…..” My Step Dad didn’t get to finish what he was saying because a yell from the door side made all of us turn to check who it was.
