Chapter 3

Sarah’s POV

My plane landed at 5 pm. It was a long flight and I slept on the plane. I picked up my luggage and went out of the airport to see my grandfather waiting for me in front of his car. “Welcome back sweetie” he kissed my cheeks “You’re finally here” he said with a smile. “Hi grandpa” I returned the smile. The driver put my luggage in the car and started moving from the airport. “I am so happy you’re here. Was your flight okay?” I smiled and said “Yeah the flight was great”. Then I noticed my surroundings this wasn’t the way to the mansion. Although I wasn’t here for the past 3 years but I still remember the city. “Grandpa, where are we going? This isn’t the way home” he smiled while saying “Yes, I know sweetie. We’re going to the new company I established 3 months ago”. Oh my goodness, I was extremely tired and jet lagged but I didn’t want to disappoint him. “The guy that has offered me to support him in this company you know so well so I figured that we shall go and say hello to him” he continued. I guy I know so well? Maybe he is someone from my school. “Okay” I said. After about 15 minutes we arrived at the building that I figured out was the company building. A guy with black long hair welcomed us and said that he will inform his boss to meet us in the meeting room. “When this person came to me 3 months ago I was fascinated with the idea and approved right away” my grandpa said. “Must be a charming person. Who is he by the way?” I asked my curiosity is killing me now. “It is a surprise you will know when he comes” he smiled. After about 5 minutes the guy who I figured his name was Isaac came into the meeting room and said that his boss is coming now. I was scrolling in my phone when I heard a voice saying while entering the room “Chairman Yorkan, it’s nice to see you”. I recognized that voice very well. It was the voice I dreaded to hear for 3 years. How is that possible? When I looked from my phone, I saw him. His brown eyes staring at me making me uncomfortable. He has gained muscles through these past years looking even more charming in the black suit he’s wearing. Come on Sarah what the hell are you doing? We were in this staring contest when my grandpa cleared his throat saying “Well, I don’t have to introduce you, you both know each other very well” yes very well. “Sit down Jan” my grandpa told him. While still looking at me he took the seat opposite to mine. “I wanted to talk to you both” grandpa continued. “Sarah, 3 months ago Jan came to me with a wonderful application and in order for this application to be popular he came to me offering to establish this company and have the share divided 50-50 me with the money and him with the application and his hard work and I accepted” he said. “Okay, you wanted to help him that I got it. Why am I exactly here?” I asked afraid of what I was going to here next “I brought you here in order to tell you that as you are a Computer Engineering major you can train in this company during your vacation and after you graduate you will have my 50% share” he said smiling. “What???” I was shocked. Completely shocked. “Grandpa, with all due respect but you know me returning here is not permanent and I am not planning to return here after graduation” I said annoyed. “Of course you’re not” I heard him say for the first time since he entered. “Excuse me what did you just say?” he really angered me more. “Sarah, we’re not here to fight and why are you not planning to return back after graduation?” grandpa asked. “Seriously grandpa? You want me to answer that?” I asked sarcastically. “Sir, I don’t know exactly where am I here? Is it to tell me about this plan or is there something else?” Jan asked. “Yes, Jan there is something else. I want you to be the one to train Sarah” grandpa said. “You must be kidding me” I was really angry I can’t believe this is happening. “Sir, with all due respect but I am very busy and I don’t think that miss Sarah is very fond of me” the nerves of this man. I wanted to rip his face into million pieces. “Sorry Jan, but I am afraid that this is an order for both of you” grandpa said while standing up. “The training starts tomorrow. I will leave you two to talk I am very sure that you have a lot to talk about. Please Jan return Sarah home when you’re done” grandpa said as he left. What’s happening to this old man? Has he gone crazy? He was the one that forced me to leave Jan in the first place. Jan stared at me after my grandpa left “I don’t have anything to talk about so I am going to catch grandpa” I said standing up. “But I have” he said stopping me in my tracks. Here comes the questions that I am so not ready to talk about. I know why grandpa has given him this opportunity in the first place. I knew about this application 3 years ago and this was the deal with my grandpa; I travel and go to college in America as I was planning after breaking up with Jan and he will help him out in his project. I wasn’t going to tell him this not back then and certainly not now. I didn’t want him to feel like it was my pity that I saw that he was lower than me I wanted him to feel vulnerable and successful. However, what I don’t understand is why is my grandpa making us work together? Is this part of his plan to make me forgive him completely? I don’t know. I was lost in thought when I heard Jan saying “I wanted to talk about your training. I have a very busy schedule tomorrow so come early in the morning so as to explain everything to you and you can sit with me throughout the day to learn” he said surprising me completely. I was expecting millions of questions about why I left but he certainly has changed a lot. Seeing my surprised look, he said “Why are you so surprised? Did you expect me to ask you why did you break up with me 3 years ago without a single explanation?” he smirked “Sorry Miss Sarah Yorkan but my world doesn’t revolve around you. Not anymore” I felt pain in my heart because of the cruelness in his words “Well, happy to know that at least we can be professional” I said. “If you will excuse me I have to take a taxi as I am very tired” I said heading to the door. He stopped me by pulling my arms and I hit his chest. His scent was the same as amazing as before, his touch was sending electricity through my whole body. Sarah what are you thinking? I immediately pushed him releasing myself from his arms. “What do you think you’re doing?” I asked angrily. “Chairman Yorkan asked me to return you home so that’s why I stopped you” he said heading to the door in front of me “Well, I am not 9 years old girl. I can go home myself” I said heading towards the door of the building. “Sarah, don’t be stubborn it’s just a car ride” he said. “Or are you afraid of something?” he asked smirking. “What on earth will I be afraid from?” he’s really getting on my nerves. “Fine lead the way” I said. This car ride is going to be the most awkward car ride in my life thanks to my grandpa.
