Chapter 184: Escape

I stepped into a pitch black room. Not a sound to be heard. If Dagon wasn't by my side, I would have guessed I had died.

"Can you see?" I whispered to Dagon. My own whisper even seemed loud. "No. I can't see a thing." Dagon whispered back. "Weird, actually. I imagine this is what it's like for humans in dark rooms. It... unsettling." Dagon whispered next. We grabbed each other's hands and both took one step forward.

I was grabbed the next second.

I wanted to react, but my lips sealed shut. And I mean that literally. My lips zipped shut and prevented me from saying anything. Dagon's hand left mine and only a cold, firm hand on my arm remained. I stood still in the icy, damp room. Nothing. There was nothing around me. Even the hand holding me was so still, it could've been a statue. It felt like spiders crawled over my body. A sense of unease, of being watched made me not move a single muscle. Even my head was frozen in place.
