Chapter 180: Lie

We ran for 10 metres... And were suddenly out of the forest. The sun hit my head and I looked up in bewilderment.

"What the fuck?!" Aemun screamed my exact thought. I looked back at the forest and the gravel road as I kept running. The town was far away. It was at least a ten minute walk from this point to the town. We... What happened?

I kept running. My legs were burning and turning sour but I ignored the intense pain. Xael must've noticed that my legs were hurting because I was suddenly lifted off the ground and put on his back. "Hold as still as possible." He said over his shoulder as he kept on running.

The gates came into view but they were sealed shut.

Shit.

Adrian would never, ever trust me again.

As we ran closer, and I prayed and prayed for them to open, they stayed shut. I didn't dare look back. Didn't dare to maybe see Adrian running or flying towards us. Adrian would first hurt, then ask questions.
