Chapter 6

Megan looked up at me with a hidden smirk in her eyes.

I had known since my previous life that Megan always hated me because I excelled academically, came from a good family, and had good looks, while she had nothing else to boast about except her face.

What bothered her the most was that she was a needy student receiving financial aid. Therefore, she couldn't wait to see me fail.

Unable to do anything directly to me due to my background, she resorted to Eugene.

Getting Eugene on her side would not only allow her to climb up the social ladder as she imagined but also crush my spirit severely.

Unfortunately, Eugene was completely unaware of this.

I didn't bother listening to her nonsense and simply stared at her, asking, "Was it really me who hired those people to attack you two?"

A fleeting nervousness flashed across Megan's face, but she quickly regained her composure. "Who else could it be?"

I smiled at Megan, and the brighter my smile, the more panicked her face became.
