"Alexis! I am not going to drop you off if you miss the bus." My mum shouted from downstairs. With a loud groan, I finally left my bed and stopped the DVD playing Got you by Joshua Wells, the most famous, rich and most amazing musician of all time. Well that's what I believe, still counts.
I'm his literal biggest fan, I have all his albums, covers, singles and features, every single one. And I am proud to say I know all by heart. I even have paintings and drawings of him on my wall, done by yours truly, me. It's fine to call me creepy, it's acceptable, as long as you don't spoil my music or shame it's artist.
I picked up my backpack, raised two fingers to my lips, kissed them and transferred it to my favorite painting on my room's door, finally leaving my room to head for school.
In few seconds, I got downstairs, then stuffed my breakfast in my mouth. "Mum ma mout!" I muffled out.
"What?!" She almost laughed at my manner of talking. I quickly swallowed and repeated. "I said I'm out." I didn't stop hurrying towards the door.
"Bye Lexi." She waved.
The bus was parked right in front of my house, that was when it all clicked, another day, another six to seven hours in a building where we are forced to read, write and understand.
I entered the bus and made my way to the very back. I wanted at a few friends but refused to sit with them, they knew me too well to even ask why. Just like every other day, I brought out my earpiece and continued listening to my music in peace as the bus began to move. It still had like six more students to pick up before turning back to school.
....
A smile curled up my lip when I opened my locker that looked like a shrine where Joshua Wells was being worshipped. I checked my schedule and sighed when I saw the first subject.
"Could this day get any worse." Those words slipped right out of my mouth. I always ended up regretting it and today was not excluded.
"Yes it can," I wanted to groan at the reply but I smiled at the recognition of the voice. Saffron. "Ms whites is sick. The substitute nerd is taking over." She added and the groan finally left my mouth.
"Chill, it's just an hour." Saffron laughed, hitting me slighting on the shoulder. She was my age, 18, a brunette with Safire eyes. I knew her since forever, although we both decided not to put a title to our relationship, an outsider would call us best friends.
"Let's get to class." I mumbled and shut my locker.
******
After long tormenting hours in school, the bell finally rang. "Yes!" Saffron shouted, throwing her hands up.
Everyone in class, including the teacher turned to look her her with raised brows. "Please don't mind her. She's sick in the brain." I quickly apologized on her behalf.
Under few minutes, we were both out of the school. It had become a habit to skip after school bus so as to spend time filling each other in on the newest news in our lives or other people's lives. As usual, Saffron did more of the talking and I more of the listening while trying my best to respond and nod my head to the rhythm of my music.
"Would you believe my brother used my toothbrush to wash his shoe?!" She shrieked and I couldn't help but laugh.
"If I were your sister, I would've done worse." I told her truthfully.
"If you were even related to me, I would've killed you before birth." She retorted and we both ended up laughing out.
Just when I thought things were getting better, someone decided to bump into me, hard and it hurt. My phone and books I had in my hands drop to the ground, along with the person's.
"Can't you look at where you're going?" I spotted angrily.
"You can't see either so it's fine." The masculine voice retorted and I gasped.
No, not because of the insult or because of how cliche our meeting was but because it was overly familiar.
"You crashed into me, now you accuse me of being blind. Plenty words coming from someone this daft." I rolled my eyes at the random stranger.
"I didn't, you weren't looking at.."
"Please stop!" Saffron cut in. She bent over and picked our stuffs and handed it to each of us. Even while sending glared at the guy in front of me, I still managed to mumble a thank you to Saffron.
"You must be the exchange student." She smiled at the guy. "You're hotter than they say." She complemented shamelessly. My eyes widened and I almost facepalmed myself.
"I am? You think I'm hot?" The guy immediately began to smile, making me frown.
"We're done here." I finalized, pulling Saffron to walk away from him.
"Are you mad?!" I shouted and she laughed.
"What, I wasn't wrong about what I said." She supported herself.
"He's a fool. Why did you say that to him. Have you no shame?!" I said, shaking my head and pinching the bridge of my nose.
"I think I have a new crush." She just ignored me.
"You don't even know him." My head began to hurt due to all the shouting.
"Love at first sight?" She shrugged.
"What about liking Samson." I asked even when I wasn't comfortable with how she felt towards my brother, it was better than the complete stranger.
"Oh I like your brother," She said with a smirk. "I like josh too." She nodded like a naive child.
"Josh?" I frowned.
"Joshua Davis." She replied, calling his full name.
"Here I was thinking all Joshua's were amazing." I shook my head in disgust.
~ALEXIS~"We're home!" I said as I thee my bag to one corner. My mum saw me immediately and she shot a glare at me, making me go back to pick it up and hang it on the wall."Good afternoon Mrs Thomson." Saffron who had made it a ritual to follow me home after school greeted my mum."Why good afternoon Saffy." My mum who was always so nice to my friends replied her."Your house smells delicious." Saffron complimented as she took a long sniff of the air."Thank you. I'm making peach pie." My mum giggled as she headed back to the kitchen, tying her apron around her body."Okay is your brother home?" Saffron swiftly turned
~ALEXIS~"Lexi is there a day you're never late?" Saffron drew me closer to her, with her hand around my shoulder."Considering you're here with me, I'll assume you're late too." I told her."I have free period." She sand and I rolled my eyes."Oh is that so?" We both froze at the sound of the voice."Morning Mr. Jason." Saffron smirked at our geography teacher. Another hot guy she crashed on. He seemed like a nerd to me though."I couldn't help but hear you say you had free period." He said and she laughed nervously."Oh it's nothing really." She wa
~ALEXIS~"God I hate him." I shouted out and Saffron laughed. She handed me the sandwich she just prepared and I collected it, murmuring a thank you to her. I had just left detention about 30 minutes ago and I decided to go straight to her house. My mouthed would kill me if she figured I got detained. So Saffron as a good friend she was, covered for me, although I doubted it would last."Doesn't change the fact he's cute." She wiggles her brows and I frowned at her."Admit it, you know I'm right." She persuaded but I rolled my eyes and went on with eating my lunch, seated comfortably on her counter."Dave is coming soon." She announced and I groaned out.
~ALEXIS ~"Dude! Ali died?!" Joshua shouted and I groaned out."Will you shut up?!" I said back but he pretended not to hear me."Why would he die?!" He kept on yapping, making it almost impossible to hear the movie. We had spent more than an hour watching Korean drama and he never stopped talking, dropping a comment on every word the actors or actresses made.Saffron and Dave came back to us few minutes into the series. ~ALEXIS ~"You're early? That's impossible." I rolled my eyes when I recognized the voice."Good morning." I greeted Saffron."How was your night?" She giggled."Cold, with no one to cuddle." I said in disappointment. "Saffy, I love you, but never, ever tell me to stay in the same place you're going to be with another guy okay?!" I cried out and she laughed."You weren't alone. You had Joshua." She smiled and I almost slapped her head but glared instead."You left me with someone who you knew I hated. No friend does that." I told her. "Besides, you're unusually smiling this morning, what happened?" I turned to give her a questioning look."Well..let's just say my night was not cold." Her smile got brighter as she spoke."Did you two..." I trailed off."Chill no." She laughed again and I sighed, grateful th
