Malia’s P.O.V.
Damn. I wasn’t able to learn how to shoot at all. After he teased me, one thing led to another, and when I came to my senses, it was already night.
“I’ve talked to my men, and they’ve told me that your brother’s now in one of our hospitals.
“Huh, you even own a hospital?
“Yes, it’s in the neighboring city. It's two hours away from here.
I stare at him. Does he really transport my brother that far?
“What kind of hospital is it? Will it be able to tend to my brother’s needs?” I help him put down the plates on the table as we’re going to eat dinner and continue, “I’m not being prejudiced, but my brother’s condition is not to be taken lightly.
“Don’t worry. My hospital is known to have a lot of great specialists all over the world. And I made sure to tell my men to make tending to your brother a priority.” Every muscle on his arms moves while he’s distributing food to our plates.
I can’t help but look at them every time my eyes pass them. He can model for luxurious and seductive items because of how exaggerated he looks every damn second.
“You can visit him anytime, of course, he added.
I raise my brow and say, “You say that, but when I go visit him, your enemies would bombard us.” I’ve learned my lesson. I wouldn’t risk seeing my brother just to end up risking his life too.
“We can go on a private jet, you know.
Wow, he owns a jet too? It must be good to have a lot of money.
“But how about the hospital fees? If it's a high-end hospital, then the fees would be much greater than the one that we had. Maybe you can tell me in advance how much I have to pay for me to have it ready before the due date.
He shook his head and sat on the bar stool across from mine. “That’s on me.
“The hospital bill?” I want to make sure of it. And he nodded his head. Oh well, it looks like I have to work harder from now on.
“But what happens after our deal is done? Would you transfer my brother back to the previous hospital?
“No, and finish your food first, Malia.
I stare at him throughout the time we’re eating. I don’t know why he’s helping me this much, but I’m also thankful to him. You know, even though I was caught up in this situation partially because of him, he can just ignore my brother and me. But he chose not to.
“Come to think of it, are you not going to ask for my parents?” He learned about my brother and knew that I’m the one financing his medical bill, but he never asked me about my parents. Not that I want him to ask me such questions, but isn’t he curious now?
“I know about them.
I was dumbfounded. “You—wait, how?” Does he know?
He shrugged as he said, “Connections.
“Wait, you ran a background check on me?
“You can say that.” He said it like it was a thing that he usually does.
What the... I was about to ask him why, but common sense hit me.
Of course he’d run a background check on someone he just met, and he would be allowed to stay in his place.
So instead of being mad, I decided to ask him, “That’s awesome. So, what did you learn about me?
His eyes are still on his food. I somehow felt bad because I’m just talking nonstop when he’s eating, so I ate the food while waiting for his answer, and I’m not disappointed.
“Hmm. Some things about your family, your childhood, how they treat you—about you, of course.”
I can’t help myself; I giggle at his answer. He glances at me as if he’s asking me what's wrong with me.
“Is that something? You basically know everything about me. That’s impressive.
“Well.”
I asked him a few more questions about what he learned, but I didn’t get to know more.
“Finish your food first, Malia.” That’s what he said.
After dinner, we decided to go back to the underground so he could teach me to shoot again.
“No funny business this time.” He just laughed at what I said before he handed me the gun that I’ll be using.
“Let’s have you learn how to assemble and disassemble a gun first.
Two HOURS later, and I’ve finally learned how to assemble and disassemble.
“You’re a fast learner.” He handed me a bottle of water and made me sit on the couch.
“Thanks, my teacher is great at explaining.
The corner of his lips raised upon hearing my compliment, but he said nothing.
It was a fun activity, although my hands are sore. A phone call caught our attention. It’s his phone. He picked it up and went out.
“Ha... How can things go this fast? I just wanted to escape the goons that night, but I ended up becoming acquainted with Mr. Marcus, or Callisto, a mafia boss.
Callisto went inside to get his keys with a smug look on his face.
“I’ll be going out for a bit.” Then he went out of the room.
“Okay?”
After a while, I heard his car exit the vicinity. “Is he alright? He looked pissed.” I wonder what the phone call is about that made him look like that.
Hmm... I should clean this place and sleep.
I hope he’ll be back to his usual self when he comes back.
****
FOOTSTEPS woke me up.
“Urgh, I didn’t realize that I fell asleep while reading a novel.” I sat on the sofa to know what was happening.
As I waited for another minute, I saw Callisto storming into the kitchen.
He’s not walking like earlier; his anger must’ve subsided already.
Since I woke up already, I've decided to go where he is.
It’s already three in the morning; it’s a bit chilly but not to the point where I can’t stand it. I hug myself to warm myself a bit.
After a couple of steps, I am now in the kitchen. I saw him pouring a glass of wine into the glass.
“Callisto.” I don’t know what I've gotten onto me, but I feel like calling him.
He glances at me and gestures at me, asking if I want a drink. I got myself a glass and poured myself a glass of wine.
There’s a deafening silence filling the room. It looks like he was still mad at some point.
“Malia.”
I turn my gaze toward him as he calls my name.
“What?”
I didn’t hear anything after, so I looked at his face just to see him staring at me. His eyes aren’t mad or sad. They’re giving me this kind of ‘uncertainty, as if he’s about to ask or tell me something.
“What is it?” I ask again.
He let out a heavy sigh before gulping the wine from his glass.
I am confused; he always does this, never finishing what he’s about to say. Should I just grab his hair and force him to say-
“Will you marry me?
Malia’s P.O.V. “What?” We’re sitting side by side, and my eyes are wide open as well as my mouth because of the shock. “I mean, it’s just a pretend marriage, but you can reject it if you don’t want to.” He avoided my gaze and poured another glass of wine. I scratched my head in confusion and asked, “You’re asking me to marry you, but it’ll be a fake marriage? He nods his head. “You see, I am already the boss of my family, but the elders wanted me to have a family to secure the lineage and the power that we have. Family, does he mean the mafia things? “Okay? Why don’t you just look for a wife that won’t pretend instead of asking me to do it? And besides, isn’t it supposed to be that the girl you’re marrying should be on the same level as you? Our eyes finally met. “Where did you learn such things? “On the TV?” At least, that’s what I know. He shook his head and said, “That’s not how it works.” Oh, then, the one that I know has been wrong all this time? “Then how is it suppose
Malia’s P.O.V.“Are you ready?” Callisto let me wrap my arms around his arms.“Of course.” I respond proudly, even though I’m so nervous that I want to vomit.We’re about to go to an event that he’s invited to, and the worst part is that the big shots are there.“The question is, are you ready for the questions that everyone will ask?” I asked.“Who do you think I am?” He cockily answered. There’s a list of possible questions that people might ask us, and we made sure that we memorized them all.Since we have to pretend that we’re not pretending, we have to convince everyone that we really love each other.“I’m nervous.”He squeezes my arms and pats them lightly. “Don’t be afraid;
MALIA'S P.O.V. I held the gun tightly as he insert his finger in my p*ssy. "You f*cker!" I hissed. He let out a chuckle. "Focus, baby." His lips roamed around my neck. How can I focus when he's thrusting his finger in and out of me? He told me to practice my shooting, but he's here, distracting me every chance he gets. "Eyes in front." I want to! Ah! I gasped as he inserted another finger in my hole. "S-stop…" My hands are trembling because of the tension. I'm even having a hard time holding the gun correctly right now, how can I shoot the center? His body which was slightly pressing behind me didn't help me at all. It's just adding to the tension that I'm having right now. Not to mention his crotch that's pressing on my butt. "Shh…Focus baby, focus." He whispers, goosebumps enveloped my body as he traced my nipples with his fingers. Damn, you. "Are you turned on?" His question sounded sarcastic. "Are you blind?" Can he stop messing with me? I'm holdin
MALIA'S P.O.V.How should I escape these goons?Just how lucky am I to see them here in the club? I just want to earn a few dollars tonight!Seeing them isn't on my plan!"Hey!" the bold muscled guy pointed at me."Sh*t." There are a total of six of them and they're all chasing after me. Some of them- no, almost all of them look drunk. That is the worst state of them that I've dreamed to see when meeting them. They all managed to hurt me when they were sane, I don't want to think about the possible sh*ts they'd do when they're drunk. "Get that b*tch!" France, the goon that looked like a monkey shouted. I just know that he's gritting his rotten teeth right now. I turn to see him. Before I knew it, my mouth betrayed me. "You might lose a couple of teeth if you grit any further!" Oh shit. They all stopped running and then slowly turned in France's direction. France stopped running as well, but from where I am, I can see his head boiling. Any minute by now, his head would let out stea
Malia's P.O.V.I don't have anything with me though.I analyze him, but other than the mic, he doesn't have anything with him. So, what is he bidding?"Why don't we start with a thousand bucks?" The man behind me smiled. "Hey?" I whispered but he didn't give me any attention."Hey!" I repeat, but still, no response. His attention was on the people who were shouting thousands of dollars outside this stage. Wait, I can't hear them just before I enter the stage, but why are they so clear right now? And what the f*ck are they bidding to? The man who's wearing a tuxedo and holding a mic claps happily when a person shouts twenty thousand. "Any amount higher than twenty thousand?" He asks the crowd."Hey, what are they bidding to?" I move closer to him and whisper again.I'm fucking clueless here, this is the first time that I went to this club and I don't have any idea that there would be a surprise bidding."Why are you asking?" He eyed me curiously."-you, of course," He added. My j
MALIA'S P.O.V."Say that again." Patience left his voice."I-I'm not a stripper. I'm just a partygoer that ended up on the stage…" I don't feel like telling him that the goons are after me, who knows if he learns that fact, there's no guarantee that he won't hand me to them. "And?""A-and people started to bid…" I tried my best to look pitiful, maybe he'll let me go if he pities me. "I-I was just partying but I-I ended up on the stage… I don't know…" I added. Please! I need your pity right now. If he's the man who won the bid, and not some grandpa, I'm sure he won't let me go until he f*ck me. So my best choice right now is to win his heart and persuade him to let me go. He took a couple of heavy breaths."Ha." He ran his hand through his hair and said, "-And you don't want to be f*ck." It's not a question. I told him earlier that I'm not a stripper so I don't want to have s*x with him.I can't help it. Although I don't want to reveal what I truly am, he was about to f*ck me tha
MALIA'S P.O.V."What's your plan?" Dorothy asks while brushing her teeth."Why are you doing that here in the living room?" She just shrugged at me and continued brushing her teeth. I sigh."I don't want to talk about it anymore, maybe it would be better to just forget about it," I told her, referring to what happened in the club. "How about your part in the bidding?""They wired me the bill last night before I left the place." A deafening silence filled the room.Dorothy went back to the bathroom, and when she was done, her face was all clean already."Well, that's great." She sat on the sofa across from mine and smiled at me. "By the way, I have a job for you." Dorothy fills me with the information about the job she's talking about. Dorothy is my best friend, we've been together for three years. I met her when I'm at my lowest and she helped me to get back on my feet. I still remember how she helped me to bring my brother to the hospital when our parents abandoned us in the mi
Malia's P.O.V."Come in." He said with a hoarse voice, Mr. Marcus moved aside so I could go inside. He's here the whole time?On sh*t. Don't tell me he's the one who made those girls scream like that.I glance at him. He doesn't look weird. His suit doesn't have any stains, even his jeans don't look like a mess. Hmm…I want to ask him but I don't have the strength to.He stretches his arms, gesturing for me to go inside his. I felt like my eyes have been blessed because, with every move of his arms, his muscles are showing as well.Oh Mr.Marcus, are you tempting me?I took a deep breath before coming in. When I was finally inside, I thought that he'd go out but he didn't.He stayed standing at the edge of the door. I can see him through the mirror in front of me. "Er… Uhm… Do you need anything?" He shook his head. Then why are you still here?Wait, why is he staring at me? Don't tell me he fell in love with me already. Oh come on, that's too fast! But of course, I like it. I glan

Malia’s P.O.V.“Malia.” Callisto’s voice from the intercom filled the kitchen.I push the button and answer him, “Yes?I’m in the kitchen right now, and I’m having brunch because I stayed up all night watching a drama last night, so I woke up quite late.“Come to the underground.” That’s all he said after the light on the intercom went out.“He really likes to order people around, huh? Malia’s P.O.V. “Damn, it’s boring.” A yawn escaped my mouth. “How long should I just stay put and wait for Callisto’s commands? I am not sure if it’ll also come very soon."It’s been two days since the treasure hunt failed. I referred to it as a failure as I ended up in the wrong room because the servant, who is the mastermind of the game, handed me the wrong key.I’m thankful that Callisto didn’t get mad at me; instead, he looked amused the day after that night. Not to mention that he’s also the one who brought me back to my room. Now, he is around, but he’s super busy to the point that we rarely see each other. I’m not complaining though; less time seeing each other means less sex, but of course the pay is still the same. What a lucky girl I am! Hehe. “Lady-”“Ah!” I almost jumped out of my chair when someone spoke behind me. “Cheska? Gosh, you scared me!” Why is she spawning like that?!She cleared her throat. “I’m sorry for scaring you, lady. But the boss is looking for you. He’
CALLISTO'S P.O.V.I strode through the dimly lit corridor, my mind occupied with thoughts of business and the weight of my responsibilities. The sound of laughter and music filtered through the walls, reminding me of the ongoing party downstairs. It looks like the servants are having fun. I paid little attention to the festivities, preferring solitude in my study. As I approached the door to my private gun room, a frown creased my brow. It was a place of secrecy, a vault for my most prized possessions. The door should have been securely locked, yet it stood slightly ajar. Intrigued and cautious, I pushed it open, revealing a scene that left me bewildered. There, lying on the couch amidst an array of guns, was Malia, fast asleep. Her delicate features were softened in repose, and her breathing was calm and steady. I couldn't help but feel a surge of both amazement and concern. How had she ended up here? The room was locked, and she couldn't have gained access without my knowledge. It s
Malia's P.O.V. "Ugh! This is what happens when I drink!" My head was pounding mercilessly. I woke up to the gentle touch of sunlight, its warm rays cutting through the fog of my hangover. In the midst of my groans, Cheska's voice broke through the haze, calling out to me. "Hey, Malia, are you awake?" Cheska's voice echoed from the door. "Callisto has been looking for you." Rubbing my temples, I regretted every sip of alcohol from the previous night. How could I have let myself lose control like that? Trying to gather my thoughts, or at least attempting to, I replied, "Tell him I'll be out shortly, Cheska. "I just need a moment to freshen up." Cheska's footsteps fade away, leaving me alone with my pounding headache and disheveled mind. I stumbled out of bed and made my way to the bathroom, hoping that splashing cold water on my face would bring some much-needed clarity. As droplets cascaded down my face, memories of the night flooded back. Laughter, conversations, and my feeble at
MALIA's P.O.V."Cheers!” I took a swig of the beer that was offered to me by one of the mansion servants. The drink was delicious, and I was enjoying it a lot. I looked around and saw that everyone was having a great time. The servants were laughing and joking.I didn't really plan on drinking. Like, hello? I just had my breakfast, but I got caught up in the moment.Who would've thought that the emptiness outside the hallway was because they were partying here in the hut?"Drink more!" One of them gave me another drink.Oh boy, it looks like it'll be hard for me to get out of here.****As the night went on, I started feeling a bit tipsy. The drinks kept coming, and I kept drinking them. I was having so much fun, and I didn't want the night to end. I was laughing and joking with the servants, and I felt like I was part of their group. As I stumbled through the seat I'm in, my vision slightly blurred, I couldn't help but giggle uncontrollably.I'm fucking drunk.I never thought I'd fi
MALIA's P.O.V.Cheska was the name of the lady who helped me last night. As I walked out of the room, she was waiting outside the door, telling me that she'll help me to get accustomed to the house for the time being. She led me to the dining room but I chose to eat in the kitchen instead. "Do you need anything else?" "Nope, I'm good. Thank you." She excuses herself after giving me the bowl of cereal that I requested. I sat down at the kitchen table comfortably with my bowl of cereal and started to eat. Thankfully, no one is here at this hour. I just know that it would be awkward if someone were here while I'm eating. Now that I'm seated here and my surroundings are quiet, my mind becomes somehow clear.I'm still wondering about this uneasiness I've been feeling ever since Mr.Marcus told me that Callisto is his real name. It's bugging me why I have this familiar feeling toward him that I've been feeling in that powder room. I feel like I've met him before. I just can't point ou
