Tricia's P.O.V

I can't believe my Jay threw me out. He acted as if my presence alone upset him. I understand his mate's death was taking a toll on him but I only wanted to offer my condolences in the only way I knew best.

The bitch was dead and she still had a hold on my Jay. But she left her side bitch Kiara and I feel as if she knows something I don't. Maybe I should have had her killed along with her so called alpha.

I had only taken two steps towards the door of my little house when I bumped into Felecia who looked like she has been crying for days unend.

"What is wrong mum?" I questioned

"Everything is wrong my dear. Everything" she answered hoarsely

"What do you mean by everything? The Luna of this pack died. It is horrible I get it but that doesn't mean this pack has to die with her. I mean the Luna of this pack can always be replaced"

"Don't talk like that Tricia Bennett! This is blasphemous. What has gotten into you child?"

"What!! I was just stating facts."

The day of the quarter moon Alpha River’s P.O.V The day I have been waiting for was finally here. It has not been easy these past three weeks. Searching for leads and finding none. Finding some only for it to lead to a dead end. In as much as I had wanted to give up I couldn’t. I had made a promise and I was hell bent on keeping it. Over the past weeks, Kaeden has been quiet. Quiet in the sense that his low whimpers and growls have even stopped. It must have been my wild sense of imagination but I could swear that I felt something moving around the house. Strangely enough, that presence sent tingles and goose bumps all over my body whenever I felt it around. I wish I could talk to someone around it but I buried that thought. They were all walking on egg shells around me since they found out that my wolf and I were probably going rouge. I didn’t need then thinking I was delusional and need to be detained in a Psych ward. The ever-growing pack work kept me occupied

STILL IN ALPHA RIVER’S POV I don’t know how long I stood staring at the phoenix until I got distracted by the sound of leaves ruffling in the trees nearby. I only had to blink and the phoenix was gone. I had this boiling urgency to search for it and I did until I stumbled upon a small girl with red eyes about the age of 5-6 years. I sighed knowing very well where she was from. Getting down on knees, I asked her softly; “Hey honey, what are you doing out here alone?” No answer “Where is your mum and dad?” No answer “How can I help you if you won’t talk to me?” “I don’t need your help” she whispered “Ooh she talks!” I exclaimed sarcastically I couldn’t help the smile that graced my face when she let out a series of cute giggles. “Of course, I can talk silly” she replied snootily “So why then didn’t you answer me” I questioned curiously “Because I didn’t want to…” she replied with a sassy roll of her eye. Can you believe this child? I thought wistfully.

Fat tears rolled down my face as I watched the large phoenix transform into a woman, I knew too well yet looked so different. With hair as white as snow and a flawless skin that looked sun-kissed and eyes as dark as the night. I watched as she got clothed in the finest drapes of cloth whiles our gaze met and held. The warm smile on her face had my wolf howling in my head for the first time in ages and that was when it crossed my mind to check her neck for our mating mark. I wasn’t really surprised when I set my sights on the unmarked skin of her flawless neck even though it broke my already fragile heart and had my poor wolf whimpering in the back of my mind. The tears didn’t stop when she shifted a little to reveal a little boy who had been hiding behind her. My knees gave out and I landed on my knees with a hard thud because the little boy who stood regal with a cute scowl on his face with his jet-black hair in a little man bun, with no shirt on and low riding leather pan

CHAOS’ POV I let my mind wander back to all that has happened today, the unending catching up and what not. In as much as it felt good to be alive, it didn’t help that this place awakened bad memories for me and to make matters worse, my innocent son, okay my semi-innocent son Xavier was here in this infested pack. I was leaving him back home but my son refused to part ways with me since the day he was born and in as much as it is endearing, it is also a major pain in the ass sometimes and especially in cases like this. He wanted to get to see and know his father and for the life of me, I could not deny him that. So here we are, in this darned pack. A pack that owes me blood. A pack that has awakened a bloodlust in me. One I thought I had buried for so many years now. The very same pack that I am an alpha of. Fate really has a twisted sense of humor. If it were up to my choices, this awakening wouldn’t have happened. I could have happy remained dead to this pack

FINAL DAY OF THE AWAKENING Chaos’s P.O.V I was awoken by the beating of drums and the echoes of a chant you rarely heard even back in our home realm. A chant that was as old as time itself. I turned to find Xavier leaning against the headboard with his eyes squeezed shut. My heart broke for my little boy. He didn’t deserve what happened to him either but we were both victims of the harsh reality that is life. The balance of the world had to remain intact no matter what and that is why consequences came with manipulating it. Consequences that were a touch to harsh but that is the way of life. Repositioning myself, I lifted him into my arms and cuddled him tightly to my chest. I turned to find his father sound asleep and I could only sigh to dispel the rage that was bubbling beneath the surface. Dropping a kiss on Xavier’s forehead, I whispered quietly’ “I am so sorry my little warrior” “I know Mama” he replied hoarsely We held on tightly to each other as the tempo of the

Still Alpha River's P.O.V I woke up to the sun blaring on my face. I had this weird ass dream that my mate was dead. Getting up, I stretched and looked around. I was in my room. How did I get here? Who changed me? What happened yesterday? I stood from my room and shivered at the cold air that seem to be constantly moving on and around my body. I headed for the bathroom and after taking a well-deserved hot bath, I walked out and into my walk-in closet. I spared a quick glance at my reflection in a mirror and that was when it hit me. The absence of my mating mark was the wakeup call. I fell on my knees since my knees were too weak to hold me up. It was not some weird ass dream. It was my painful reality. I stayed on my knees crying until there were no more tears. I still can't believe my mate was gone. My Chaos. After no more tears trailed down my face, I got back on my feet and robotically got dressed. I felt numb. I hurried with making myself look presentable because
