FINAL DAY OF THE AWAKENING Chaos’s P.O.V I was awoken by the beating of drums and the echoes of a chant you rarely heard even back in our home realm. A chant that was as old as time itself. I turned to find Xavier leaning against the headboard with his eyes squeezed shut. My heart broke for my little boy. He didn’t deserve what happened to him either but we were both victims of the harsh reality that is life. The balance of the world had to remain intact no matter what and that is why consequences came with manipulating it. Consequences that were a touch to harsh but that is the way of life. Repositioning myself, I lifted him into my arms and cuddled him tightly to my chest. I turned to find his father sound asleep and I could only sigh to dispel the rage that was bubbling beneath the surface. Dropping a kiss on Xavier’s forehead, I whispered quietly’ “I am so sorry my little warrior” “I know Mama” he replied hoarsely We held on tightly to each other as the tempo of the
"Good morning everyone... The final rites of the awakening is upon us and the court of the realms and beyond proceeds over it. Today's hearing is to decide the date of a once mated couple, a family and a betrayal. I beseech you all, that until you are called upfront, do not speak, pass any snide marks or worse scream. You will be severely punished should you interfere. The court of the realms and beyond is no joking grounds. Let the hearing proceed and may the odds be in your favour. And may Justice be served..." "To start with, Tricia Bennet, please step forward" Another council man read out loud We all watched as Tricia bravely made her way through the crowd to the front but we could all smell her fear. I don't blame her. My father and his brothers made an intimidating sight seeing as they were all pairs of twins and looked very much alike. You had to really know them to be able to tell the difference. And right now, with the way they were seated it was like looking at the sa
“The damned were a pack of people that made up a rather small town in the far East some 700 years ago. They were simple people who farmed and hunted for a living. They were so disconnected from the world that they gave naive a whole new meaning. They trusted too quickly and took people for face value. You could tell them you have never committed a crime before with blood on your hands and they would believe you. And that is how they became a town of refuge for so many murderers, thieves and monsters of every kind. The outside world changed the town's name from Serenity to the Damned Naive or the Damned for short. They were a total of 10,632 individuals women and children not included. So you said you sacrificed all these people Felecia?? I am not sure monster is a sufficient name for the kind of person you are" The councilman narrated with fury burning deep within his eyes The first person she looked at was Gregory and you could practically hear his heart breaking from w
Underestimated... All my life, I have been underestimated and in as much as it had been annoying. It had favored me in so many fights and trials. My father died years after I was born. Before I could even walk and talk. His time here on earth was due and he had to return to his world. But every now and then, he makes an appearance to my two older brothers; Lucas and Lucien and I so we know that he's still with us and never forgotten. My mother, Celeste, the Alpha of our pack, raised her kids with an iron fist behind closed doors and spoiled us in the eyes of the pack and world. Because I'm a girl some of you probably think she went easy on me. Well... No... If she trained my brothers five times hard, she trained me fifteen times harder and ruthlessly too at that. She is a tough woman, who had fought so many battles and won and she had scars and tattoos to prove it too... she commanded respect and she has earned it duly. Her warriors and pack members literally worship the ground
After packing, I took opportunity of the time I had left to go around the pack one more time and to tell the few pack members I considered as friends and family goodbye. Now that I was leaving, I will surely miss my training with the warriors and brothers as well as my mother's. I wish I could stay a bit longer before going to my mates pack but even I know that even in my dreams, it will be impossible because my mate wouldn't agree and will throw a tantrum or resort to other means no matter how low to get me to go with him which wouldn't really be necessary and to avoid all that, I just have to go with him peacefully. But if he thinks, he's got himself a fragile docile mate then he's got another thing come. I may not talk much but my silence and temper does show a lot. I had just finished collecting my personal weapons which consisted of a silver sword, a bow and a couple dozens of arrows and my box of daggers from the weapons room when I felt someone pushing against the barrier
Alpha River's POV Ever since I found my mate, I just wanted to cuddle her and smother her with kisses. She may have that tough aura around her or that annoying blank mask on her face all the time but I and my wolf, Kaeden just wanted to treat her like she was the frailest being we've ever set our sights on but I knew she wouldn't want that. Maybe in private but not in public. As soon as we had arrived on their pack ground, I smelled her. It took everything in me to not have sniffed her out and mated with her that very instant. I noticed the realization when she felt the tingles and the moment, she tried to get a whiff of my scent. Too bad I had it cloaked. I saw the suspicions and mistrust that reared their heads and the shooting up of her guard. Intuitive and cautious… I’m impressed. I glanced at her outfit and though she was dressed simple and decked in all black, I couldn’t help but feel hot and bothered. The dress code together with the stance she held and the look on her
THE NEXT DAY Chaos’s p.o.v I am awakened by the sun blaring rudely in my face. Which fucker left the damn window open? I would really like to know and give that person a delightful piece of my mind. It’s not like I hated the sun but it's in my face rudely and I am not a morning person. I try to move only to realize I am being held tight to a chest. I mean a very yummy muscular chest by a muscular arm. I look up only to be met with the adorable sleeping face of my mate. Ugh... sleep really does stuff to people. He looks so angelic but you and I both know he is nothing like that. I throw my head back on my pillow as the events of last night rushed back to me. I felt bad for walking out on Alpha River's mum and pack but I couldn't help it. My father is a touchy subject and I didn't like the idea of someone talking about him as if they really knew what he was or where he was. It is a guarded secret that his children, mate and a few select people and council elders of my birth pack
As soon as I started walking towards the three culprits, the rest of the pack members walked backwards to create space before making a circle so everyone could spread out but still be able to see what was about to happen.I stopped in front of Cindy and after sizing her up, I told her I would fight her last so she should wait with Matthews who didn’t waste time in reaching forward to pull her away. I watched the two men standing in front of me before asking them;"What are your names?""I am Luke and he is Alex" the first one said."Okay which one of you will like to go first?" I asked in monotoneAfter a moment of silence and none of them moving, Alex spoke up."Me. I would like to go first""Good. Luke please wait with Beta Matthews while I finish up here" As soon as he left, I turned to Alex who smiled smugly at me. I flashed him a bright smile before I started circling around him. I watched him as he let his ego and foolishness lead him into the fight instead of
