Still Alpha River’s P.O.V

The doctor came back with me and the surprised gasp that left her lips told me what had happened was not normal.

I paced in front of the window as the doctor ran a thorough check up on her before starting to make some phone calls.

I know it was to her family with the way she spoke franticly but respectful at the same time.

I couldn’t help but have a bad feeling about all this. I wanted to go in there and comfort her but I know it was just wishful thinking.

That blasted spell her brothers put there was doing a damn fine job from preventing me from entering.

I was at my wits end here and I couldn’t keep standing on the other side of the wall while my mate lies on the other side.

With a deep breath, I opened the door and without hesitation. I closed my eyes and rushed inside.

I waited anxiously for the pain I knew was coming but none came. Gingerly opening my eyes, a small smile made its way onto my face when I realized I have been able to enter the room

Chaos’ P.O.VMy eyes flew open the moment my mate walked out of the room. I know he knew I was awake from my coma and was just waiting for me to wake up from my sleep. With all these sudden changes that are going on with my body, I didn’t won’t to risk it and open my eyes. Who knows what I would have done to him here and then? I lie down and listen to my surroundings and when I was confident that no one would be walking in on me anytime soon, I stepped out of bed. It felt good to have my feet back on the ground. After I made sure I was really fit to walk on my own, I cloaked myself and walked out of the room. It felt amazing to walk in the shadows again. Observing everything without anyone knowing you are actually there. I avoided crashing into anyone because it will cause a ruckus I really didn’t need right now. I had just made it to the ground floor when I spotted Matthews and my family heading towards my way. Thankfully their attention wasn’t on me so acting swiftly, I p

“It is not the enemy that lurks outside your home that you should fear but the enemy that you dine and share a home with…” ~ Lucas Chaos An hour later, Chaos and her family made their way to Alpha River’s house and towards the conference room. Kiara was still smiling sweetly whiles the twins and their mother wore blank looks on their faces. As for Chaos, the look on her face was zero to none. Thanks to her new look, she looked scary and somewhat dead and funnily enough, that was exactly how she felt inside. Alpha River sat in his conference room with a frown on his face. His parents and Tricia sat in the room when he didn’t remember sending for them. He had asked and he had been told Matthews had asked them to be here. He in turn questioned Matthews who refused to say anything other than, ‘I was ordered to get them here.’ Matthews had given him the same answer on the tenth questioning and he was about to snap when the door to the conference room burst open. The gasp

Still Chaos’ P.O.V I stood under the full blast of my shower still fully clothed and allowed it to rain all over me. I leaned my head against the wall in my new shower and watched as the water washed the blood of my mate off my body. The ass whooping was never part of my plan. But I felt the urge when he didn’t show any sign of remorse or repentance. That hurt more than knowing he cheated on me. I felt the stinging behind my eyes and I couldn’t help it when they started rushing down my face. Raw pain and tears rocked my body as I let it all out. I fell on my knees and let it all out. The pain, the rejection, the disappointment, the agony, my anger and the deceiving hope I had felt. I cried and cried till all that was left was sniffles and even then, I couldn’t stop. No matter how nonchalant I acted back there, he was still my mate and the bond joining us was still vibrant as the day it was made. Fresh tears trailed down my face as I thought about w

Alpha River’s P.O.V I lay in the hospital bed slightly aware of what was going on around me. I don’t even know what day it is. But one thing is for sure that my nightmares felt real. I’ve never felt anything like that and I don’t want to go through it again. I was also in a shit ton of pain and the pain meds that I am sure the doctors pumped with is not even working. Kaeden has been trying to heal me but there was so little he could do. I seriously can’t believe my mate did this to me. Handed my ass to me on a silver platter. My mother hasn’t left my side since I was admitted and she hasn’t stopped crying too. My father? Nowhere to be found. He was disappointed in me and I couldn’t blame him. Even I was disappointed in me. I clear my mind and start rethinking of all that has happened before my mate got here and when she got here. I flinched internally when I remembered the tears and emotions behind her stone-cold gaze. I couldn’t read her thoughts. She blocked me

STILL ALPHA RIVERS POV Jeremiah was first to go. He let the blanket fall to the ground before turning his back to me. “What the fuck!!” I whisper yelled “And that’s not even the worst.” Silas Barnes, Richard’s second in command said before shedding his own ridiculous shirt. The rest followed and I couldn’t even look at their backs anymore. It didn’t even deserve to be called a back anymore. “What happened?” “Your mate’s father happened. He’s one scary ass motherfucker and I wish to never see him again in my life or dreams for that matter” Leone Esposito, Matthews’ second responded with a look of pure horror in his eyes “Shut up Leone. You had it easy than the rest of us because luckily, Kiara and Chaos see some cuteness in you that we don’t” James teased “Someone explain why some look worse than the other whiles some are somewhat gone” “Well…” Stephanie started “On the first day of training, Alpha Chaos cooked for us. Some food from her father’s realm as it i

Chaos’s P.O.V I woke up today with a smile on my face. I may have lost something but I gained something back. Training has been wonderful. The new trainees show signs of a great future. With the way Kiara and I has been nurturing them in our ways, they would be able to conquer anything and even go with us when we go visiting in our home realm. But this news will come later. They are already super excited for today. I know some of them arrived earlier than usual but I paid them no mind. They will see the weapons on my terms. I know some folks are planning on crushing but I will deal with them when I see them. Yesterday was a little hectic though. I no longer do well with emotions and seeing all of the high ranked members come up to me to apologize was too much work and I just had to forgive them. That little cutie Leone was the icing on the cake. I received an apology note from my mate to and it’s like he knew I didn’t want to see him just yet even though it’s inevitable with th

Alpha River’s P.O.V I stood by the car watching my mate exit the entrance to her training grounds. She looked fucking delectable and she looked like a goddess as well as highly dangerous. The boys were really not joking about the assemble and the high-tech weapons. Kiara had a couple strapped on her and she looked like a sight to behold. I would never tell her that though. She is too cocky for her own good and I am not going to fuel it. I couldn’t stare at Chaos for long because then I am reminded of how much I fucked up. I honestly don’t know what to do to right my wrongs but I know for sure that I was going to do everything mortally possible to at least make up for the pain I have caused her and still causing her. I rounded the car to her side in the back and opened the door for her and after she was settled in, I moved to the other end and settled in. The car ride was silent but not tense and I was grateful for that. I didn’t talk and neither did she. The bond t

Alpha River's P.O.V I woke up to the sound of constant beeping. I opened my eyes and after blinking them for a few moments I became aware of my surroundings. I was in my room with a heart monitor and an IV stand beside my bed. What now? I was closing my eyes to go back to bed when I heard movements in my room. I turned and was met with the teary gaze of Matthews and a surprisingly worried Kiara sitting at the edge of my bed. "I’m dead aren't I?" I asked worriedly "No but why would you say that" Matthews asked heatedly "Kiara is here with a worried look on her face. I should be concerned" I snapped "You know River, you don't like me and the feeling is mutual. You hurt Chaos so badly that she might never recover from it. The problem is, you didn't only hurt Chaos but the entire family and one thing I know about my family is that they are a bunch of sadistic fuckers who know how to hold a grudge. What happened today was an attack from our homeland. We don't know wh

“The damned were a pack of people that made up a rather small town in the far East some 700 years ago. They were simple people who farmed and hunted for a living. They were so disconnected from the world that they gave naive a whole new meaning. They trusted too quickly and took people for face value. You could tell them you have never committed a crime before with blood on your hands and they would believe you. And that is how they became a town of refuge for so many murderers, thieves and monsters of every kind. The outside world changed the town's name from Serenity to the Damned Naive or the Damned for short. They were a total of 10,632 individuals women and children not included. So you said you sacrificed all these people Felecia?? FINAL DAY OF THE AWAKENING Chaos’s P.O.V I was awoken by the beating of drums and the echoes of a chant you rarely heard even back in our home realm. A chant that was as old as time itself. I turned to find Xavier leaning against the headboard with his eyes squeezed shut. My heart broke for my little boy. He didn’t deserve what happened to him either but we were both victims of the harsh reality that is life. The balance of the world had to remain intact no matter what and that is why consequences came with manipulating it. Consequences that were a touch to harsh but that is the way of life. Repositioning myself, I lifted him into my arms and cuddled him tightly to my chest. I turned to find his father sound asleep and I could only sigh to dispel the rage that was bubbling beneath the surface. Dropping a kiss on Xavier’s forehead, I whispered quietly’ “I am so sorry my little warrior” “I know Mama” he replied hoarsely We held on tightly to each other as the tempo of the

CHAOS’ POV I let my mind wander back to all that has happened today, the unending catching up and what not. In as much as it felt good to be alive, it didn’t help that this place awakened bad memories for me and to make matters worse, my innocent son, okay my semi-innocent son Xavier was here in this infested pack. I was leaving him back home but my son refused to part ways with me since the day he was born and in as much as it is endearing, it is also a major pain in the ass sometimes and especially in cases like this. He wanted to get to see and know his father and for the life of me, I could not deny him that. So here we are, in this darned pack. A pack that owes me blood. A pack that has awakened a bloodlust in me. One I thought I had buried for so many years now. The very same pack that I am an alpha of. Fate really has a twisted sense of humor. If it were up to my choices, this awakening wouldn’t have happened. I could have happy remained dead to this pack

Fat tears rolled down my face as I watched the large phoenix transform into a woman, I knew too well yet looked so different. With hair as white as snow and a flawless skin that looked sun-kissed and eyes as dark as the night. I watched as she got clothed in the finest drapes of cloth whiles our gaze met and held. The warm smile on her face had my wolf howling in my head for the first time in ages and that was when it crossed my mind to check her neck for our mating mark. I wasn’t really surprised when I set my sights on the unmarked skin of her flawless neck even though it broke my already fragile heart and had my poor wolf whimpering in the back of my mind. The tears didn’t stop when she shifted a little to reveal a little boy who had been hiding behind her. My knees gave out and I landed on my knees with a hard thud because the little boy who stood regal with a cute scowl on his face with his jet-black hair in a little man bun, with no shirt on and low riding leather pan

STILL IN ALPHA RIVER’S POV I don’t know how long I stood staring at the phoenix until I got distracted by the sound of leaves ruffling in the trees nearby. I only had to blink and the phoenix was gone. I had this boiling urgency to search for it and I did until I stumbled upon a small girl with red eyes about the age of 5-6 years. I sighed knowing very well where she was from. Getting down on knees, I asked her softly; “Hey honey, what are you doing out here alone?” No answer “Where is your mum and dad?” No answer “How can I help you if you won’t talk to me?” “I don’t need your help” she whispered “Ooh she talks!” I exclaimed sarcastically I couldn’t help the smile that graced my face when she let out a series of cute giggles. “Of course, I can talk silly” she replied snootily “So why then didn’t you answer me” I questioned curiously “Because I didn’t want to…” she replied with a sassy roll of her eye. Can you believe this child? I thought wistfully.

The day of the quarter moon Alpha River’s P.O.V The day I have been waiting for was finally here. It has not been easy these past three weeks. Searching for leads and finding none. Finding some only for it to lead to a dead end. In as much as I had wanted to give up I couldn’t. I had made a promise and I was hell bent on keeping it. Over the past weeks, Kaeden has been quiet. Quiet in the sense that his low whimpers and growls have even stopped. It must have been my wild sense of imagination but I could swear that I felt something moving around the house. Strangely enough, that presence sent tingles and goose bumps all over my body whenever I felt it around. I wish I could talk to someone around it but I buried that thought. They were all walking on egg shells around me since they found out that my wolf and I were probably going rouge. I didn’t need then thinking I was delusional and need to be detained in a Psych ward. The ever-growing pack work kept me occupied

Tricia's P.O.V I can't believe my Jay threw me out. He acted as if my presence alone upset him. I understand his mate's death was taking a toll on him but I only wanted to offer my condolences in the only way I knew best. The bitch was dead and she still had a hold on my Jay. But she left her side bitch Kiara and I feel as if she knows something I don't. Maybe I should have had her killed along with her so called alpha. I had only taken two steps towards the door of my little house when I bumped into Felecia who looked like she has been crying for days unend. "What is wrong mum?" I questioned "Everything is wrong my dear. Everything" she answered hoarsely "What do you mean by everything? The Luna of this pack died. It is horrible I get it but that doesn't mean this pack has to die with her. I mean the Luna of this pack can always be replaced" "Don't talk like that Tricia Bennett! This is blasphemous. What has gotten into you child?" "What!! I was just stating facts."

How did I get here? Who changed me? What happened yesterday? I stood from my room and shivered at the cold air that seem to be constantly moving on and around my body. I headed for the bathroom and after taking a well-deserved hot bath, I walked out and into my walk-in closet. I spared a quick glance at my reflection in a mirror and that was when it hit me. The absence of my mating mark was the wakeup call. I fell on my knees since my knees were too weak to hold me up. It was not some weird ass dream. It was my painful reality. I stayed on my knees crying until there were no more tears. I still can't believe my mate was gone. My Chaos. After no more tears trailed down my face, I got back on my feet and robotically got dressed. I felt numb. I hurried with making myself look presentable because
