“What’s up? It looks like you have seen a ghost.” Kedwyn stated and placed the roses in a jar of water in front of me. I quickly shoved the pamphlet into my pocket and shrugged.

“The price of jewellery is crazy,” I stated, and Kedwyn chuckled. Kiara probably wouldn’t appreciate it if I told the people she worked with that she was a CEO of a multimillion company. Plus, she would have told them herself if she wanted them to know.

I wondered if Kiara kept that side of her life a secret. It also made sense how she knew many wealthy people that were members of her club. Maybe she led a double life. I couldn’t imagine that many people would be happy if the CEO of Van Kline Jewellers also owned a strip club and danced at that club. Many wealthy women would hate the company since their husbands are secretively part of the club.

“I can imagine. I’m honestly good with buying a fake silver chain and wearing it until the paint wears off.” Kedwyn added, and I nodded.

My head was spinning. How was I supposed to try to start a relationship with Kiara if I stole from her? If I told her the truth, she would hate me. To top it off, she slept with me the morning her company was robbed. It was just all messed up.

“Yoh, Jason. Look who just walked in.” Kedwyn stated while he stared towards the door entrance. I looked back and saw Kiara move her scarf from around her neck.

She had a single-sleeved long-sleeved white shirt and washed out light blue jeans. The jeans had tears in them, and she wore a pair of black ankle boots. The scarf was grey and knitted together with wool. Her hair was still silver-white, and she had a small denim bag on her arm.

Kiara hugged a few women hello, and then walked towards the bar. She didn’t even make eye contact with me as she leaned over the counter and kissed Kedwyn hello.

“Vixen, you look lovely.” Kedwyn complimented and made Kiara smile.

“Thanks, babe. I see you are decorating the bar. These white roses look lovely.” Kiara stated and picked up a rose from the bouquet to sniff. I watched as she held the rose up to her nose and briefly closed her eyes. I knew the roses had a wonderful fragrance. She looked gorgeous with the rose in her hands and her silver hair tucked behind her ear. My brain couldn’t find any words as I was speechless by her beauty.

“Actually, Jason over here bought them,” Kedwyn replied and looked at me to say something. Kiara opened her eyes and stared my way with her eyebrow raised.

“I bought them for you,” I stated. Kiara’s eyes flashed, but she didn’t smile or show that she appreciated the roses.

“I hear you’ve become a regular at my strip club. I see the ladies have captivated your attention.” Kiara said and placed the rose back into the bouquet.

“Only one has,” I remarked, and Kiara grunted as she pricked her finger on one of the thorns. I noticed there was a small drop of blood on her fingertip, which she stuck into her mouth.

“I just remembered I hate roses,” Kiara mumbled, then stormed off. I watched her walk off and looked back at Kedwyn. He just shrugged. I quickly jumped off the barstool and hurried after Kiara.

“You can’t come in here,” A bouncer stated.

“I’ll just be a second,” I muttered and slipped past him. I followed Kiara through another door into the changing rooms. Women walked around naked and screamed as they saw me. I quickly turned around and covered my eyes.

“I’ll deal with him,” Kiara said to the bouncer that followed after me. He nodded, and I felt myself being pushed into a private room. “What the hell is your problem? Don’t you have respect for women’s privacy?” Kiara hissed and shoved me against the wall.

“I’m sorry. I just wanted to talk to you, Kiara.” I replied, which made her freeze.

“How do you know my name?”

“From this,” I stated and pulled out the pamphlet from my pocket. Kiara snatched it out of my hand and tore it in half before shoving the pieces into her bag.

“Did you tell anyone?” She questioned, and I shook my head. She sunk into the couch in the room and placed her face in her hands. “You can’t tell anyone, okay? My father would kill me. I’ve worked hard to keep this part of my life a secret. If it got out that I’m the Van Kline CEO, it would ruin my father’s reputation.”

“Do your employees know?”

“Yes. Every member of my club signed a contract to keep the club a secret. We are a tight-knit circle.” Kiara responded and looked up at me.

“I know a thing or two about having a secret. After all, I’m a getaway driver for a crew of thieves.” I stated, and Kiara smiled.

“Thanks, Jason.” She sweetly said, and I sat down next to her.

“There’s something I have to confess.” I sighed and then quickly told her the truth before I second-guessed it. “The night we slept together is the night my crew stole from your company.”

I looked down, ashamed, and I felt guilty that my life was the way it was for the first time.

“Oh, I know. After you left, I finally decided to check my phone and pieced two and two together.” Kiara shrugged. She didn’t even sound a slight bit upset.

“Don’t you hate me?”

“Nah, the insurance company paid us out, and we gained more publicity. You wouldn’t believe how the sales skyrocketed. Most people thought they would help us out by purchasing some jewellery.”

“Oh.” I felt a small smile play on my lips as I looked at Kiara. “Do you really hate the roses?”

“Since you were honest with me, I’ll be honest with you. I don’t hate them. I actually thought it was very sweet of you, but I just like being a bitch.” She replied and placed her hand on my leg. “Repeat that, and I will rip your balls off.” She threatened, which made me gulp.

“Yes, ma’am.” I nodded, which made her smile. “You have a gorgeous smile,” I stated and felt drawn in by her smile.

“Stop with this sweet talk, Jason. It’s really annoying because I know you are just saying that to make me like you.” Kiara rolled her eyes and moved her hand off of my leg. I missed her touch almost instantly.

“It’s the truth, Kiara. I swear to always be honest with you from the start.” I took her hands in mine, and her eyes flickered to look up at me. “I won’t ever lie to you. I promise.”

“I take promises seriously. You better not break them.” Kiara sternly replied. Her hands felt soft in mine, and this warm feeling flowed through my body. Why did it feel so good to be around her?

“I know you said you don’t date, but I would like to get to know you better. Even if it’s just as friends,” I softly remarked.

“As long as I get to fuck you when I want, then sure.” Kiara shrugged.

“Okay. Deal.” I nodded.

I knew Kiara probably just saw me as another of her fuckboys, but I was going to show her I was different. I didn’t only want to be with her for sex. I just wanted her… all of her. I didn’t know why exactly, but I planned to find out. Maybe love at first sight was real.

“Good.” Kiara ran her finger over my lips. “Fuck, you have pretty lips.” She smiled and squished my cheeks together so that my lips puckered open like a fish. Kiara then leaned in closer to me and placed a kiss on my lips. I wasn’t sure how to feel, but I knew I found her utterly adorable.

Kiara moved her hands to my neck and kept her mouth against mine as she continued to kiss me. I slowly moved my body closer to her, and she leaned back against the arm of the couch. Our tongues explored each other’s mouths hungrily like we were starved from the other’s taste. I gripped onto her inner thigh, and she parted her legs to place them on either side of me.

My body was in between her legs as I leaned over her. I kept my weight on my arms as I didn’t want to crush her. Her hands started to explore my body and found their way into my shirt. Her fingers caressed my chest and then made their way down to the button of my jeans. She quickly undid the button and ran her fingers over my dick, which twitched in response and grew harder.

“Wait…” I mumbled and pulled away from her. “Fuck, I can’t believe I’m going to say this. I don’t think we should continue.”

“Why?” Kiara questioned and squeezed my dick. “Your hard boner says otherwise.” She mischievously smiled.

“Uh, I badly want to just be inside you right now,” I grunted and squeezed onto her right hip. “But, I don’t want whatever we are to just be about sex.”

Kiara seemed shocked by what I said like no one had told her that before. It made me sad that she had gotten used to having men just use her.

“Let me take you out.” I offered and touched the side of her face as she sat up. My heart was racing as I anxiously waited for her response.

“I, uh, haven’t figured it out yet.” I honestly replied, which made her laugh. “Fine. Take me to your favourite place in Joburg. I’m willing to get to know you better as well.” Kiara stated and stood up. She picked her purse up from the glass table and redid her scarf around her neck. She looked back at me with a flick of her hair and smiled. “You coming?” “Oh, uh, yeah.” I stuttered and quickly jumped to my feet. Kiara walked off, and I followed behind her. I tried to hide the excitement that she wanted to get to know me better and refrained from happily cheering. A voluminous smile spread onto my face as I quickly looked at Kedwyn as we walked past. He gave me a thumbs up and chuckled to himself. “We’ll take my car,” Kiara remarked as we walked out of the grocery store. She interlocked her fingers in mine and pulled me towards a blue 1967 Camaro SS Convertible. This car was a stunning Chevrolet with a rectangular shaped frame. It only had two doors, so the backseat passengers had

The cabin had a single bedroom with a metal frame bed but no mattress. There was an old painting of what the cabin originally looked like when it was first built. The room also had an ancient chest of drawers which had a hole on the side and was missing the drawers handles. The bathroom was a metal bath with a toilet. A cracked mirror hung against the wall, and I remembered JB broke my accident when he shot me with his slingshot. The cabin used to have running water, but now the pipes were dry. The lounge/dining area and kitchen were all one room. There was a small wooden table with a broken chair. Then another painting of a car that I hung up. JB also painted a tree on the wall, which was pretty well done. The kitchen had a few cabinets with an odd plate or cup in them. There wasn’t much, but the cabin was like a dream home for two young boys. While we were in the lounge area, I removed a loose floorboard. This was our secret stash spot in case someone broke into the cabin. There w

Kiara and I spent the night getting to know each other more by talking. I learnt things such as her favourite colour (which is red) and if she studied at university (the answer was yes). Kiara went to the University of Pretoria, aka Tukkies. She studied business management and told me stories of how she went to tons of parties. Kiara messed around on a pole at a club one night, then decided to join pole dancing classes. After that, she perfected the art and now can move in ways I’ve never seen before. She told me how her Dad always called her his angel, which is why she acts as the perfect daughter for his sake. I asked her if she ever wished her Dad could know the real her, but Kiara said she prefers to keep her life separate. She feels freer that way. I just sat there and listened when Kiara spoke. I could listen to her for days upon end. Her voice was beautiful, and she sounded so happy when she spoke about her Dad. They were really close, and she loved him with all her heart. Kia

I offered him a small smile while I shook his hand. Mr Van Kline had dark brown hair that was riddled with grey strands. He had a neatly trimmed grey beard and stern eyes that shouted ‘business’. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Mr Van Kline.” I gulped and could feel Kiara staring into my skull. “I heard whispers that your grandmother will leave her company in your name. Is it true that she is thinking of finally retiring?” Mr Van Kline asked. “We all know how stubborn my grandmother can be.” I awkwardly chuckled and hoped I was right. Mr Van Kline nodded with a small smile. “I know it’s time that she retires, but I think she’ll work for as long as possible,” I added. It was scary how easily lying came to me. “Uh, yes, that is true. I hope to see you around more often. It appears my daughter has kept you hidden.” He stated and looked at Kiara. “Sorry, Daddy. Mr Porter here claimed to not enjoy such functions,” Kiara replied and looked to stare at me. I felt a drop of sweat on my fore

I felt this anger build up inside of me. Not at her, but at whoever or whatever made me feel like she can’t be loved. I was also angry at myself for not having more patience. I shouldn’t have kissed her or asked her to dance or slept with her again at the old cabin. I made my way back inside to fetch my suit jacket and tried to wipe off as much water as possible. I still looked wet when I walked back into the grand hall where the luncheon was taking place. Mr Van Kline walked over to me when I grabbed my jacket. “Uh, Jason.” He smiled and placed his hand on my shoulder. “Sorry, Gregory. Kiara said that I should let you know she wasn’t feeling well, so she went home.” I explained to let him know what was happening. “Uh, I see.” He nodded and removed his hand. “My daughter ran away, didn’t she?” He suddenly asked, and I felt my body freeze in place. “I saw the way the two of you look at each other. I once looked at Kiara’s mom the same way. I think Kiara can’t accept that she can be

We had just finished a meeting with Mr Van Kline and a few other major businessmen. Mrs Porter had invited them over to her company to announce that I would take over in the next upcoming year. I had a whole presentation with new ideas and changes which Mrs Porter really liked. It felt like I was at school again and being graded. The men seemed to enjoy what I said, so it went well. “Thank you, Jason.” Sue smiled as I sat down. “As you can see, gentlemen, my grandson is more than capable of taking over my company. You will be in good hands.” “I agree.” Mr Van Kline added. “It will be my honour to work with you.” He smiled at me, which made my heart feel like it was glowing. Having Mr Van Kline like me was amazing; even though he didn’t know the entire truth, it still felt really good. The rest of the gentlemen shook my hand and congratulated me. As everyone was about to depart, Mr Van Kline walked over to me. “Gregory.” I smiled as he stopped next to me. “I would like to invite yo

Kiara's gorgeous lips curled into a small smile. Once again, I was struck by how beautiful she was. She could have been Victoria's Secret model or become famous for her stunning appearance on I*******m. How could one human be this attractive? "Why are you just staring at me, Jason? It's kind of weird." She giggled. "I just think you are the most beautiful woman in the world," I replied with a shrug. "You haven't seen everyone in the world, so how would you know?" Her eyebrows slightly wiggled as she asked the question. "I know my ideal woman when I see her, and no one can compete with you." "You always know exactly what to say, don't you?" She asked, but the blush on her cheeks told me she appreciated the compliment. I couldn't help but smile. Being around her made me feel so alive. I changed the topic and told her all about my deal with Mrs Porter while we sat on the edge of the jacuzzi. Kiara couldn't believe that Sue wanted me to continue the act as her grandson. She also ad

We climbed out of the jacuzzi and got dressed. Kiara kept giggling as we sneaked off towards her room. I felt like a teenager that didn't want his girlfriend's parents to know he slept over. "Shh." I softly chuckled as we walked into her room hand in hand. Kiara clapped her hands which made the light switch on. I looked around in wonder. Her room was massive. Long golden curtains draped down over a glass sliding door, which led out onto a balcony. She had an L-shaped desk in the one corner with the best gaming set-up I'd seen. Next to that was a dressing table full of jewellery, makeup and hair accessories that were probably every girly woman's dream. She had tons of pictures on her walls of who I assumed were her friends. Many were with her father, but not one featured her mom. The room was decorated with LED lights and had tons of cupboard space. The bed was massive and covered in teddy bears, pillows and fluffy blankets. Above the bed hung a painted picture of Kiara's naked back

2 years later...I hadn’t spoken to Kiara since that day. I fell into this dark pit where I was so angry but couldn’t do anything about it. I kept my promise to Allan. I didn’t take revenge. I got justice.I gained proof of the warden's illegal ways and the deals he made with the inmates. I found out he arranged the hit since I was taking my time. My lawyer helped me build a case, and together we got the warden put away for the rest of his life.To be honest, it didn’t make me feel better, but I knew it was all I could do.I couldn’t face Kiara. I refused to read her letters, take her calls, or even see her when she came to visit. For a year, she kept trying, but eventually the letters stopped coming. I just needed time alone. I needed to heal, and I did. I found peace.I even had my sentence reduced. Today I was getting out.“Do you have someone coming to pick you up?” The officer asked as he checked me out at the entrance. He gave me a normal pair of clothes, my secret cell phone, a

Allan stared back at me as his eyes darted across my face.“What does that have to do with me?” He finally asked, which made me run my hand through my hair.“I need to talk to Kiara first before I decide anything.” I shrugged and stepped closer to him. “But I do like you, Allan.” I paused and flicked my eyes down to his lips. “You’re gorgeous. I’m intrigued by you. I want to get to know you more, but I also need you to be able to defend yourself. I won't always be here to protect you.” I paused and touched the side of his face. “I don’t know if it’s just lust or if it could be something more. If you’re willing, I’d like to figure it out together.”Allan’s eyes closed for a brief second as he seeped in the warmth from my hand on his face. I watched his chest rise and fall and felt myself totally mesmerised by him. Kiara was the only other person who had that effect on me. So, for a second, I was scared. Allan took a step closer and looked down at my erection, then up at my lips, then at my eyes.“You didn’t finish.” He mumbled so seductively that it made my cheeks go red.“Oh, uh, it’s fine, man.” I said and made the mistake of flickering my eyes down to his lips, trying to get out of his gaze.Allan then closed the distance between us as he pressed his lips against mine. My body froze as his warm lips stayed on mine for a second or two before my brain kicked in and pushed him back harder than I intended. His back hit the wall as he stared back at me.“What the hell, man?” I hissed as I pushed away from the bed and stepped closer to him. “Are you gay or something?” I demanded and grabbed a hand full of his shirt."Y-yeah, I am.” He stuttered as he looked up at me, frowning. “I just thought I could help you get rid of that erection.”Shit, I don’t know if it was the way he sounded so innocent or the way I hated seeing him frown. This irresistible urge to kiss him flooded my thoughts.

I grunted as I turned around and slid back onto the bottom bunk of the bed. Allan wasn’t my problem. He needed to stand up for himself.Nothing else was said that night. Allan climbed onto the top bunk and, after a while, softly let the tears fall. He thought I was asleep and did it so quietly that no one else would hear. That was the first secret of his I kept.***Weeks turned into months, and I barely spoke to Allan. He stopped sitting at my table, only said a word or two to me in the cell, and was rejected by all the gangs that he started spending a lot of time with the ladies. It made things worse for him. Inmates picked on him for being a bitch and humiliated him whenever the opportunity rose. The kid just took it. It was like he thought he deserved to be beaten up. I tried so hard not to care and just let him be, but shit, a piece of my heart went out to the kid. The cafeteria was like a stereotypical jail-style cafeteria. Officers stood around while the inmates on kitchen duty served the rest of us on a plastic plate. It smelled of dirty cooking oil and rotting food that was stuck between the planks of the tables. Whoever was on cleaning duty never cared enough to clean properly, but heck, we were in jail. No one puts in that much effort. Everything was given the bare minimum.Klip and I grabbed our plates and stood in line, a spoonful of what looked like vomit piling onto the plate. Boiled cabbage stew first, then rice on top. I glared at the inmate serving me, and he quickly stood up straight and apologised. Fuck, who added rice last, this fucking idiot? I rolled my eyes and walked over to the table closest to the door."Uh, Jay isn’t this…" Klip asked behind me but decided to rather shut up as I sat down.He hesitated but sat down next to me as well. I mixed the rice and stew together, then glanced up as footsteps approached. Donnie stoppe

The first few months in jail were the worst. The inmates tested me. I was beat up; I beat some of them up... I had to prove myself and show how tough I could be. Eventually, I knocked out enough inmates to make the others back off and stop messing with me.I had so much time to just think about everything and sort out my mind. I started reading, working out, and even got a tattoo of Kiara’s name on my chest. I quickly had to learn how to bargain and do certain favours for the wardens and powerful inmates. There were a bunch of gangs formed in the jail, and all of them tried to win me over, but I refused all of their offers and kept to myself. I made sure I was respected by everyone and even made friends with the officers. I liked being the middle man.For two years, I had my own cell and was mostly left alone to do my own thing. From all the working out, I had muscles and grew super strong. I looked great and was no longer that skinny, awkward man that Kiara fell in love with. Heck,

The lawyer sighed and shook his head before he added, "I suggest you agree to plead guilty." I looked away from him and out the window, where I saw Kiara impatiently waiting on the engine of her car. I had been held at the local police station since the whole Ricardo shooting incident. 3 days and 2 nights without sex. Shit. Kiara would come visit every day and demand that I be released. She caused such a commotion that she was not banned from entering the station while I was being held. I could have left... I was offered bail until the court date, but I refused to let Sue, JB, or even Kiara pay it. Maybe I wanted to punish myself for all the crimes I committed. Soon Kiara was back and handed me the gun, which I slipped into my pocket. "Okay, let's go." The sky was lit with colours of pink, red and orange. A soft breeze blew and stirred up dust into the air. The land was filled with small shrubs, cacti, dry grass and sand. It was like everything around us went in slow motion. I had time to describe every detail of Axels face, and how his body hit the ground. He landed face first with his eyes still open while his blood seeped into the sand. His arms were at his side and his knees bent to the side. He didn't breathe, he didn't blink, he didn't move. Even when Kiara screamed his name and wind flew dust towards us. He wasn't bothered. He just lay there. Then suddenly everything went back to normal speed as another shot went off and hit one tire of the van, making it sink down to the rim. My body jerked into motion as I grabbed Kiara and pulled her behind the side of the van, incase the sniper tried to shoot us. "Stay here, Kiara!" I yelled and looked from her tearing eyes to peek around the door to see where the sniper shot from."
