Chapter 185: Hope for Reconciliation

Elaine couldn't remember calling Aaron last night, so his appearance surprised her. She felt a pang of anxiety, as if she had done something wrong and was caught by the person who mattered most to her. But then, she found it ridiculous. Why should she care about Aaron's feelings? She forcefully pulled away from his grip, saying, "Let go."

Aaron, equally frustrated, clenched his teeth but glanced around the room and felt nothing out of the ordinary.

He remained silent, and Elaine walked away. The play was over, and the next step was to facilitate their wedding. As for what Aaron thought, that was none of her concern. She hadn't gone far when Aaron grabbed her again.

Elaine took a deep breath, stopped, and looked at him with a cold voice, "Do you need something?"

"Was it you?" Aaron blurted out, instantly regretting it. He bit his lip in frustration, realizing that he had misspoken.

Elaine's face was filled with mockery as she looked at him coldly. "My affairs are none of your concern."
