I

Merlina's P.O.V.

"The devastating murder of a married couple occurred just two hours before we arrived at the scene at apartment number 210. Neighbors say that they heard a terrifying scream followed by a loud thump. But before they had a chance to inspect the noise the two were already dead and the suspects were no where to be found." The news reporter spoke.

I set my plate on the counter next to me before I focused my attention closer to the screen trying to hear every detail.

"The death of the two was a very brutal and fatal murder and America's hearts and prayers go out to the families who lost an amazing member." The blonde spoke before I clicked off the t.v

"Mom this has to be Justin or Dylan, one of them. If not, both" I said as I paced back and forth.

"We're not absolutely positive." She defended.

"Momma we know they're killers and this is a homicide that they committed. Nobody knows who killed them, but we do. We can't keep protecting their identity if their just going to continue to murder innocent people." I said as I sat down next to her, and took her hand in mine.

"We don't know if the victims were completely innocent." She said as she removed her hand from mine.

"But we know that they're dead." I informed.

"Honey." She sighed.

"I know it's hard, but we can't keep protecting them."

Justin and Dylan mean the absolute world to me and my mother. She practically raised them, she looked at them as her sons and they have done nothing but disappoint her.

I grew up with them, they were the ones I looked to for help, the ones I could trust with anything. They were my best friends, they were my everything.

But now they are mentally ill, corrupted, and a genuine lost cause. I've tried to protect them, but knowing your best friends are the cause for several people's death and only you know the suspects isn't an amazing feeling. And I just give up, I can't do it anymore, if they won't stop or give in then I'll have to do something about it.

"I can't sit around and watch innocent people get slashed when I know I could've done something to prevent it!" I said getting more frustrated.

"And I know it hurts your heart too." I said knowing I was speaking the truth.

"I know." She sighed as disappointment and guilt washed over her face.

My heart sank as I wrapped my arms around her body.

Me and my mom he an incredible bond and I absolutely love her she's more than a mother. She's like a sister to me.

"I'm going to the police station tomorrow." I informed her.

"Are you going to full name them?" She asked with worry written on her face.

"Yes." I said as I let out a huff of air.

"Please be careful, I don't want to loose you like I lost your father."

"I will, it's not like they'll know I'm going to name them. And even if they did, they wouldn't kill me." I said as I laughed a nervous laugh.

"Don't be so sure."
