Everything was dark, so dark, but that was not what bothered Morana. Her real issue was with the pain, Morana could not understand why she felt pain all over her body especially when she was supposed to be dead. “Why do I still feel pain? What is that noise?” she tried opening her eyes but was unable to, Morana felt like she was frozen in ice, unable to move yet she could feel immense pain, was this what hell felt like? After all she’d been through, she still somehow ended up in hell “Hontas, it really hurts” Hontas never did reply, ‘Hontas?’ Morana tried again to reach her other half, searching through her mind she came back empty, the silence caused her more pain, sending her into a panicked state.
"Morana." Her mother's voice rang through, Morana jumped on Serena’s bed and grabbed a handful of her mother’s sheets pulling it up her much smaller frame. She was back in the pack with her mother chasing after her. Serena finally caught up with her little daughter, a smile tattooed on her face as she lightly tapped Morana’s nose, "Morana, you silly little creature" she said and grabbed her body pulling it close to hers as she kissed her daughter’s face repeatedly, "You'll be able to talk to your wolf soon, do you have any idea what you will be naming her?" Serena asked smiling at Morana now nestled in her arms. Tilting her head to have a good look of her mother she shook her head."What is your wolf's name mommy?" she asked. "Her name is Aurora, I named her that because that was the first time I talked to her, when first got a glimpse of her, it was right at dawn, she spoke to me right when I woke up and that’s what Aurora means, dawn" Her mother said and smiled turning towards her and leaned against her elbow.“wow!! Just like the princess in your favorite cartoon?” Morana aske eagerly, “yes honey, just like sleeping beauty” Serena chuckled "Then I'm gonna name mine wolf Ho-Hontas! Just like my favorite princess" Morana proudly declared giggling, happy to have thought of a princess’ name too."Oh my darling girl, that’s not why I- I mean it’s not the-,“ Serena was lost for words, staring at her beaming daughter, she couldn’t find it in her to take that smile away from her daughter. “that’s very wise of you, you picked a strong princess, a very pretty one too” her daughter nodded happily “yes she’s gonna be pretty like princess Hontas.” Serena noticed Morana’s blunder, “That is not how you say-" she got interrupted by her very excited daughter "Hontas, Mommy! Hontas! Hontas! Hontas!" her daughter declared looking at her mother, she pointed a finger towards her, "My wolf is going to be as beautiful as yours." “Of course she will be, I am your Mother aren't I?" Serena said grabbing her waist, pulling Morana into her body as she kissed her round, red cheeks.”Pain. Darkness. Hurt. Not to mention, a very annoying noise. Morana needed to be free, she felt suffocated and still couldn’t open her eyes, she was fighting to see the sunlight again, fighting for Hontas. One minute she was on a flat surface, the next she was back in her mother’s arms, it felt so real.Serena had Morana in her arms as she walked away from the pack house. Morana could see a few lights still on in the large building as she clung to her mother's body. Her nose fell against Serena’s neck as her scent comforted her. Her mom had said that she would get a wolf in a year or two. Morana couldn't wait! "Mommy." she whined and pushed her forehead against her mother’s jaw, "Drink. Mommy. Drink." Morana said and pointed towards the house."Hush now Morana." Serena cooed as she continued to step in the forest, shielding the pack house from her daughter, rubbing circles against her back as she walked in the darkness. The woods held a chill in the air, in fear, Morana squeezed her eyes shut in fear and soon fell asleep in her mother’s arms. It wasn't long until Morana was startled and woke up, looking around, they were now deep in the forest, the pack long forgotten, tears filled little Morana’s eyes, but they never fell, she looked up to see a man she was unable to identify. He seemed familiar yet Morana was sure she had never seen him before, his blue eyes looked down at her, he had a smile on his lips as he pushed away the tears that threaten to fall, "Don't cry little one. "He said in a deep voice. Serena smiled towards the two, her gaze pausing at the man with loving eyes, "Serena, you need to come with me." The man said, starting his conversation again. Morana leaned against his chest and looked at her mother as she grabbed a hold of the man's shirt."I've told you before Marcus, I can't just leave the pack. I'm supposed to be Luna, Kevin can't be the-" "The pack isn't of your concern anymore!" The man said, stopping Serena’s words, "She is." He said and poked my nose, He used that same hand to grab her hand, "Come with me Serena, leave your pack. I will keep you safe. I can't keep you safe when you're in that territory, please. I'm begging you Serena.” Serena frowned as she looked at her daughter curled up in Marcus’ arms with guilt and then turned to the man with tear in her eyes."Marcus." She said and closed her eyes as she walked towards him. He wrapped his free arm around her body and placed a kiss on her head. "Serena, my love, my mate. I need you by my side." He whispered in her light brown hair, "My Daughter will need a Father." He added and looked down at little Morana. She met his eyes and held his stare for a moment before turning to her Mother.“We will leave once the rogues are taken care of Marcus; I can't promise anything more. It won't be safe for Morana to travel in the forest with them roaming around. And if he finds her-" She let out a breath as Marcus leaned down and crushed his lips against her. “If he hurts you or her, I will haunt him down until I die. I will kill him." Marcus said in a stern deep voice, his finger brushing against her mother's face.Serena was a fighter, in front of the pack she held herself high. But in front of her mate, she melted. She had a happy smile on her face and her eyes looked like running water. So much love was in her eyes as she pulled the two people, she loved more than herself into her arms. They held their little girl between them for a while before they eventually split. Morana watched as Marcus left with tears running down his cheeks, he kissed her cheeks and forehead promising he to see her again.Serena cried as she walked back to the pack, she stopped her sobs once she felt she could be seen. Morana could feel her mother’s heart breaking as she looked at the warriors that watched her, it was plain as day that this wasn't where she wanted to be. The little girl turned back to the forest in wonder, holding onto her mother. Memories Morana hadn't remembered rushed through her head and slowly she started to find a peering light. Her body ached and as much as she wanted to, found it difficult to move at first. Slowly, very slowly Morana to gain feeling in her hand, she could feel her fingers rubbed against another, she wasn't dead, she also realized that she wasn't in the cell either. There was an annoying beeping noise coming from somewhere beside her, along with a strange swishing sound.Further away Morana could hear voices and chose to keep her eyes close and listened, "Alpha, she's doing better now," "You said that last week!" A male voice growled. He sounded angry, furious more like. This sounded like an Alpha, "How long will it be until she wakes up?" he asked again."Her injuries are severe; we should be happy that she is even alive!" Another male voice said. Morana could hear another growl from the Alpha as footsteps echoed the room. After a moment the man spoke, "Have you found out what has happened-""Of course not!" The Alpha said, his voice was closer this time, "When I find out who did this, I promise the punishment will be deadly." He said. Morana could feel his warmth, she could feel the breeze he made when he walked past her bed, "It's been almost a month." The Alpha said in a small voice."I promise you; I'm doing everything that I can." The man replied, coming closer to where she lay, "For a woman on death's door, she is healing wonderfully. Even without her wolf's help she is getting better." There was silence in the room for a few moments as they all listened to the annoying sound of the machine. Morana was barely hanging on to consciousness as the Alpha continued to speak, "Internally bruised, internally clawed, tears, whips, wounds and rape? Is this what we do to innocent women who wander into our territory?" The Alpha asked shaking his head."It wasn't just one male who had his way with this young girl" The man replied, "From the size of the claw marks, bruises I would say at least twelve, maybe more." A growl filled the room at that answer, "You told me to be honest-""I know, I'm sorry Dr. Linn." The Alpha said quickly, but still sounded very angry. In that moment Morana could feel every inch of her body. She could feel the weight of the room fall on her and her back burned in pain. The heart monitor raced as she struggled to breath but was met with plastic. Morana choked on what little air she could squeeze through her lungs, her tube doing nothing to ease her breathing, her hands scrunched up the bed sheets in an attempt to swallow air. Then Morana heard a calming voice that jerked her from her panicked state, silence fell in the room for a moment. The only sound being that of the annoying machine, she turned to the tube, my hands reaching for it. "No! Stop her! Now!" The Doctor screamed, she could feel hard hands around her own as she tried to yank on the tube, before she could try again Morana felt a pinch and then coolness filled her body. It took only a second before her hands to fall and her body relaxed. The beeping on the screen slowly as she fell back in darkness.Once she calmed down Alpha Brandon lowered her head and took in a few breaths, he placed his hands at the back of his neck as he stood. So much rage had been boiling in Brandon ever since the doctor told him what his mate had endured. The doctor had to use tweezers to pluck each silver piece he found. Using a heated blade, he also had to cut the dead skin that was left hanging on her back. The internal claw marks was what made him furious, doctor Linn knew better and allowed a woman to stitch the wounds, "Alpha if I may ask, who is this woman to you?" Dr. Linn asked once he had disposed of the syringe, "If you don't know her mate, then there are no ties between you and this woman." He said.Brandon watched him carefully as Dr. Linn looked at the woman, slowly Brandon leaned back. "I feel responsible for her." he said and turned towards his mate. Truly, he wanted nothing more than to scream at the top of his lungs that she was his mate, his everything. But he knew better than to declare her a Luna when she wasn't even awake. For all he knew, Dr. Linn could have been one of those who had abused and raped her. Brandon cleared his throat, holding back the growl that was trying to escape, "I left my pack and came back to find an almost dead woman on my land. What if her mate-" he hated saying that word, he hated thinking she had marked someone else, "Decides to declare war because our men almost killed her?" he finished."She could be a rouge." The doctor said and leaned against the wall. He was in his mid-forties, taller than the average male and skinnier too. His large forehead held wrinkles now, and his brown hair was receding to the middle of his scalp. His gray eyes looked at Brandon’s mate for a second and then looked down as he pinched the bridge of his nose, moving his glasses away, "She might not have a mate. She could have been forced to bare that mark." He said and sighed, "From what I can tell from her blood work and her body weight, this wasn't the first time she was starved. She's malnourished, and there are scars that seemed to be given years ago, still trying to heal."Brandon closed his eyes and shook his head. "Nonetheless, she shouldn't have been raped because she trespassed on my land!" he growled loudly and glared at the doctor. He’d been waiting for Jon to accidentally slip one of these days, but he has been awfully quiet."For all we know she could have been a rogue whore, and they just decided to leave her-" His voice stopped speaking once he saw his Alpha glaring at him. "If you have something to say, say it." Alpha Brandon said in a stern voice."I just believe you would be happier doing your Alpha's duties then watching over a girl that is nothing to you." The doctor said truthfully. 'Kill him.’ Aero ordered but he only blinked and tilted his head. "I will continue doing my Alpha duties, but I will also stay by this woman's side until she is fully healed." he said glaring at the doctor, "If you have a problem with that, I can gladly find another who will tend to her."Doctor Linn bit his tongue, but nodded, dismissing himself from the room and closing the door tightly. Brandon allowed his shoulders to slouch as he grabbed hi mate's hand and looked at her sleeping face. Very slowly, his finger traced down her swollen cheek and around the tape that held the tube in place. He leaned his head down and kissed her hand closing his eyes. Brandon sent a silent prayer to the moon goddess to watch over his mate and offer her wisdom at this moment. Her hair was pulled back and tucked under the tape, looking at her made Brandon’s stomach turn. Her beautiful, long lashes looked to be resting, he grabbed a chair and pulled it to her side. Alpha Brandon was the leader of a ruthless pack, a pack that was strong. A pack that was unbeatable, yet in this moment he hated this pack. He hated that he had a feeling they did this to his mate- no, he knew they did it. Brandon promised to find out who they are and remind everyone why he is known as the Alpha of the most feared pack.By the time Morana woke up again, there was no tube connected to her mouth. The beeping was lower than before but the pain was still there. She tried to control herself from wincing , slowly opening her eyes.Everything was in a haze as her eyes adjusted to the light. The first thing she saw was a tall box beside her, a green line moving up and down. Looking down, Morana could see something clipping her finger and tubes were stuck in her arm. Then, she had a looked around, noticing she was in a white room, with a thin blanket rested over her legs and stomach. Even though two sheets were under the blanket it she was freezing. Morana slowly lifted her head and winced trying to shake off the growing headache as she sat up on the bed.Her hands fell at her sides as she felt the heavy bandages against her skin. Slowly, Morana sat back down and looked back at the tube that was around her finger. After lifting the weight up, Morana became bored of it. She leaned her head back and winced as
Walking out of the pack's hospital Brandon could feel Aero's sadness, neither Aero nor himself felt comfortable leaving their mate in a bed by herself. Rubbing the back of his neck, Brandon tried to control the anger growing in him. Even though Morana couldn't talk, her action made it clear that even if she could, she wouldn't have. Brandon could smell the fear coming from her, and he knew she was afraid of him. Morana had only concentrated on Brandon when the anesthesia was in her system. He was never one to ask fora woman's attention, but he wanted Morana’s. Brandon wanted to memorize her face, he wanted to hear her voice. There were so many things he wanted to do, like telling his pack that Morana was his mate, not someone who forced their mark on her. Brandon was her true mate, and Morana was hers. 'Do you think she is upset with us?’ Aero asked sadly. Brandon only frowned and looked at his house behind the pack house, ‘Why are we keeping her a secret? Why can't we say she's our
That night Aero stayed up through the night, howling in pain whenever Brandon will spend nights anywhere that wasn’t beside his mate. The wolf wanted nothing more than to spend his time with Morana and he made know every single hour. He was unhappy that Brandon spent his nights with un-mated females, that they were welcomed in any house they stopped by.Aero hated Brandon whenever thought of Morana almost rejecting them. She was beautiful, perfect in every way and what Brandon was doing was hurting himself as well. But he couldn't help but feel disappointed, he was meant to be glad the moon goddess had given him a mate after he had lost all hope of finding one. What he couldn’t understand was why did she give him one who was afraid of him?How was she to run a pack along with him if she cowered at the mare sound of his voice? Brandon couldn't picture her being a strong Luna, she would always be in need of guarding and he would constantly be in fear of losing her. There is no way to le
It has been two weeks since Morana found out that Brandon was on the search for her and she’d stayed beside Brandon as he searched for 'Serena's daughter', keeping her secret to herself. If he only knew the dangerous rouge he wanted dead was sitting right beside him. Hontas was tasked with keeping Morana calm at all times and not allow herself to get distracted. So Morana kept her focus on Brandon. It was getting difficult to be around Brandon for long, Morana was always on edge, waiting for the moment when he would snap. Waiting for him to hurt her, but he never lost control of his anger. Brandon never even got frustrated around her. The females were long in the past but Morana had to remind herself to keep a distance from him. She should be angry; five days wasn't enough but for some reason Morana had completely forgiven the idiot. Out of all the men she’d known, Brandon was the only one who exercised patience with her. Sometimes during the day, he would say a word asking her to r
Sitting in a tub, Morana crossed her ankles while she looked at the bubbles that covered her chest. Her brown hair was up in a half pony tail the escaping hairs resting with a hot rag that was against her neck. Morana moved in the tub and looked at the white wall write in front of her. Two weeks had gone by and she had started to feel comfortable living with Brandon, Morana hadn't seen Cameron since he was appointed her Beta, since then, Brandon had been by her side this whole time. Though, today he would be leaving to the pack house so Cameron will be coming to the house to watch her. Hontas purred in Morana’s head when she lifted her arm and watched the bubbles fall down her skin, Morana couldn't help but giggle at the fluffy, soapy creation. She hadn't had a bath before, or maybe she just couldn't remember taking a bath. Brandon had made her the bath and promised to make breakfast before he left. All these seemed too good to be true, Morana couldn’t wipe the smile off my face as
Cameron and Morana watched so many movies as the snow fell heavily outside. Cameron had turned the heat up multiple times through the day but Morana was still cold. Grabbing a blanket Morana leaned against the couch and continued to watch a movie about cowboys. Cameron turned out to be quite a clown and made silly jokes throughout all the movies. The time Morana spent with him was comforting, very awkward at first but it blossomed to something warm and sweet. His jokes were funny, Morana had a hard time not laughing at him, but that didn’t make the need for her mate dwindle, she still wanted Brandon back. Cameron was very tensed at first when he sat close to Morana on the couch, but he was slowly able to relax. That was until the sun started to set, the cold wind blew against the open windows and the snow seemed to blanket everything in sight, the two sat by the window, watching the shift in the lightness outside. Very slowly Cameron turned towards Morana, his face turning serious a
Walking out of the room Morana turned to Brandon's office, she peeked in to see him pacing the room as he held a hand to his forehead while speaking on the phone. He looked stressed, his hair was all over the place and he had dark and heavy bags around his eyes, Brandon growled and mumbled on the phone, "Fine." He said and ended the call. He turned towards the door and stopped as he caught sight of Morana, "I didn't think you would come." He said and frowned as he looked at the phone, "I have to leave" He said sadly. Morana softly sighed in response, her confidence fell in waves but, she tried to hide her disappointment, keeping a poker face as she leaned against the wall."of c-course." She whispered causing Brandon to sigh and grabbed a jacket. "A visitor was supposed to arrive tomorrow. But apparently they decided today was better." Brandon explained. Morana’s eyes widened in fear and Brandon walked towards her. He leaned down and placed a warm kiss on her forehead, "If you would
Brandon’s mind was weightless after the night he’d spent with Alpha Kelvin. He’d stumbled on the wooden stairs as Cameron angrily stomped away, not even acknowledging Brandon as he made his way home, Cameron didn't bow, he held his head high as he walked past his Alpha. Brandon could smell the rage on his skin as he shifted into his gray wolf and rushed into the woods. Brandon looked back at Cameron and blinked slowly as he turned into the house. He closed the door loudly and dragged himself to their room. He just couldn't wait to hold his mate, Brandon climbed in the bed to find the sheets cold to the touch. It was a slap in the face, a cold awakening to the fact that Morana had once again left their room for the guest room, a rush of anger coursed through him as he made his way towards the guest door surprised when he found it locked. Sighing loudly Brandon pushed off the door and stumbled back into their room angry at the fact that Morana would lock a door on him? On him? The one
A few minutes later, Morana heard Brandon run up the stairs, “Just checking, so do you want to go food shopping? Or should i just order something?" He asked. After having such a long day shopping for clothes, Morana didn think she had it in her to shop for anything, the thought of it made her feel sick in the stomach, and grocery stores were worse, the store always seemed to be too hot and the food was too pricey. It was way worse than shopping for clothes in her opinion, Brandon always said not to worry about the price but she still found herself worrying about the price. "I don't mind eating in." She said and looked over to him with a big smile, "If we go you'll spend a lot of-""I told you not to worry about that."Brandon said as he looked over at her, "Our pack is wealthy. We even get money from the humans." He added. "Why do humans pay you money?" She asked and tilting her head, confused, it was her first time hearing of this."Well, only the high up in human territory kno
Brandon opened the jeep door and took a hold of Morana’s hand as she got down, staring at the large house in front of her. Morana’s heart pounded loudly in her chest as she held onto randon's hand. They silently walked towards the stairs, leading to what Morana guessed was Brandon's room. Once up the stairs Morana noticed just how big the pack house must be with so many doors leading to goddess knows where, Brandon opened the first door and pulled her into the first set of doors in the pack's house. Then the room blew warm air towards her face with multiple coats hanging on the wall.Morana’s confidence hit rock bottom along with her stomach once she heard men shouting, staring at the TV while sitting on a white sofa to the right. She watched them, so glued to the screen that they didn’t seem to notice that they had walked into the house. She noticed some of them had some things in their hands as they pressed the buttons frantically. The boys didn’t look older than sixteen and were
Brandon’s eyes followed his mate as she went into a store. Her bags were still hanging from her hand as she picked up a white shirt before he exhaled andI turned to Rose. He hadn't seen her since she left for an official meeting at the Red Moon Pack. She was from the White Wolves pack. A small pack that never caused him problems. But, upsetting and disrespecting his Luna caused enough to make her a threat. Rose was a wonderful warrior and that was what had drawn him to her, she was carefree and had a wild side to her. Now, he needed to put a stop to whatever it was she was thinking. Brandon took a step away from her and smoothened his shirt, not forgetting to wipe off what remnant she might have left on his lips. "Rose." he said and looked down at her brown eyes, "I-""I've called you, why haven't you answered? We were supposed to get together when I returned but you seem to be busy with pack duties, I haven't even been able to catch a glimpse of you" She asked and frowned, very s
Brandon being able to hear and practically see Morana’s thoughts was very facinating to her, and she could hear and see his. The hurt and misunderstandings were over, Now that she could feel all that he felt she could find it in her to fight, especially now that she knew just how good her body could feel in his, She never wanted it to stop. For the past two days, Brandon seemed to agree with They rolled in bed and moved all around the room going again and again until they passed out from sheer pleasurable.Brandon was insatiable, he couldn’t get enough of Morana, no matter how many times he had had her, or how long he spent learning every curve, dip and swell of her body, once she was up, they were back at it.It wasn't until the second day they were able to separate from each other without feeling torn from th
Finally! Jon and Amanda had said their goodbyes and as they went out the door, Morana was finally able to breath. Since her little conversation with Amanda, Morana noticed the she-wolf had become silent, sporting a worried look on her face. Amanda had tried miserably to hide her confusion, curiosity and doubt concerning her mate, and as much as Morana was glad that Amanda had started to doubt her mate is the perfect man she had always thought he was, she felt bad for her new friend who seemed to be battling with the news she just got. If only she had more control of her wolf, these days she seemed to be a completely different woman, some days she loved it, other days, like today, she wished her wolf listened to her more. While she pondered on how much she had changed, Brandon stood in front of the closed-door string at the intriguing woman who seemed to have transformed completely in just a few days. He wanted to ask her what had happened to cause the swift change since the day he had
“It took me two batches but I think I finally got it,” Morana said smiling brightly as they stepped back into the dining, “it’s my take on berry pies, I made a Berry Ice-cream pie”, she announced when they got to the table. Brandon was still recovering from her one-eighty shift in countenance; Morana ignored his confused look and instead spoke to him with the sweetest smile. “The weather is lovely today; I think it would be wonderful to have this on the porch, don’t you?”Brandon just kept on staring at her like she had grown another head, “Brandon! Did you hear what I said?” coming out of his dazed state, Brandon shook his head returning her smile “yeah, it’s too lovely to remain in doors. Why don’t you beautiful ladies head on out while we grab a bottle of Falerum and some glasses”Morana smiled sweetly at Amanda and helped usher her to the porch, the two sat on the comfortable swing Brandon had made as an apology only a few days ago. The contraption was a piece of art, carefully woven
Jon was the first person to catch Morana’s eyes once the door opened, she had practiced how she would avoid seeing him today and yet at the first chance she got Morana caught herself looking at the man who hunted her dreams. The big bad wolf, literarily, who had used her like a piece of rag and tossed her out to die. Today, as she stood by her mate, with her eyes set on the man who months ago could make her feel small just by his gaze, Morana realised that all her fear was for naught. Not only was Jon unable to harm her any more, but now she had more power than he could dream of. Taking a deep breath, she let go of all the pent-up anxiety and fear that had built up since she was informed of the meeting, this was her territory, her pack and no one was going to force her out of it.She gave one last glance at the beta before turning her gaze to sweet Amanda, today was going to be like every normal dinner and Morana was not going to let anyone ruin… especially not her angry wolf. “Amand
‘She held our hand, mate just made hand contact’ Aero kept chanting right from the house till they got into the car and it was starting to get on Brandon’s nerves, “will you shut it already? Any louder and she’ll hear you” he tried reprimanding his wolf. ‘Let her, I don’t mind at all, I could die a happy man’ was Aero’s snarky come back, the wolf had been waiting for a sign from Morana , to show she was starting to heal, that she could one day forgive them. All it took was for her to take their hand, to reach out first, to crave for contact and take it. Now he was the luckiest being alive, his mate would come around and finally they would be one again.“You sound like a creep, things are going well these days but don’t read too much into this, she only held our hand, she didn’t declare her undying love for us so calm your shit” Brandon warned, not wanting to raise his hopes any higher. True Morana holding his hand willingly came as a shock and a very happy surprise at that but he didn
Sophia was unsure whether if she should be worried or amused. Morana had carried on like nothing had happened, she want about the market with a smile on her face, happily greeting pack members as she passed. Cameron seemed to share in her confusion “is it just me or does Morana seem…creepy?” he whispered as their Luna as she smelt some fresh tomatoes, the smile tattooed on her lips. “I’m both scared and impressed” Sophia admitted with a sigh “should we really keep what just happened from Alpha?” he asked still keeping his eyes on Morana.“I don’t know what to do” was her simple reply as she brushed her fingers through her hair. “Let’s see how things work out, if something like that should ever happen again we run straight to Alpha okay? But till then let’s just keep our eyes on Mo for now”. Cameron agreed with her decision, there was no point in telling the Brandon about what had transpired in the house, especially since Morana was fine now. There was also the fact that none of them w
