Chapter 2

Ashley POV

It's been three weeks since Kevyn and I broke up. I admit that it wasn't easy for me, every day that passed I was killed by the pain but it was necessary to be strong for myself. It's hard that I used to be with him all the time but now I'm alone. But maybe that's how life really is, if you're not meant for each other, fate will make you separate even in a painful way.

I can't say that I'm okay, I'm not in pain anymore because it's like I'm just fooling myself when I do that. It's hard to move on because we've been in a relationship for several years and we've had a lot of good memories in our life together. I'm mad at him because he hurts me but there's nothing I can do about it because it's already happened. All I need to do now is to move on and be a better person.

My friend was with me today, I told him everything that happened between me and Kevyn, until he came home and invited me to the mall, he knew I wasn't okay so maybe that's why. We are currently at the Cafe and eating our favorite, he even let me go even though I initially refused because I had to pay but he insisted.

"Don't think about that man anymore because he is not an absence. You are beautiful and smart but you just became a fool for loving him. I told you several times that I don't want that man for you but you didn't listen, you didn't believe me you are yourself that he loves you and he is not what I think but where did your belief take you? Nothing!" He was annoyed, since I introduced Kevyn to him, he really had no love for him.

"It happened so we shouldn't regret it." I promise.

"Which shouldn't happen if you only know how to listen! You were blinded by the love he showed, but that's the trick inside. In the few years you've been together, maybe he's been cheating on you for a long time, you just don't know because you trusted him that much."

"I don't know, do I? You comfort me and I get a sermon from you." I snorted.

He raised an eyebrow at me. "Hey girl, what do you want me to do? Congratulate you like that? You can be stupid! You're perfect, maybe you want me to throw a party for you because your stupidity took a few years."

I just tortured him and didn't answer anymore, I know that I have nothing against him, no matter what I say I'm sure he'll have an answer. While I was drinking my mocha frappe, I noticed a man walking towards me.

"Excuse me?" I promise.

"Yes? Do you need anything?" He was always smiling which annoyed me. I felt my friend pinch me from the side while this man kept looking at the two of us.

"Are you following me?" I asked boldly.

"You're so funny, you're not the owner of this Cafe, are you? So everyone is welcome here.

"Get out of my face!" I snort at him.

"Anyway, since you're here I want to talk to you."

"And you think I'll agree?" I cursed.

"Yes, I know what happened to you and Kevyn."

My lips parted because he mentioned my ex's name, what does he know? I looked at my friend and he seemed to understand what I meant so he stood up and said goodbye that he was just going to the bathroom.

When he left, the man sat in front of me. "What do you know? And how did you meet Kevyn? Who are you?" I asked one after another.

"Wooo! Easy woman, there's only one and the enemy is weak. First I'm Drake, I know if you're gone, he cheated on you right?"

"So what now? What do you care about that?" I promise.

"He's my brother."

My eyes widened because of what he said and I was about to stand up when he stopped me.

"Sit down first. we are still talking."

"You think I'm going to talk to that man's blood relative? No fucking way!" I promise I'm angry.

"Chill Ashley,"

"What now?" I asked him.

"You're the only person I thought could help me, I want to take revenge on my brother."

"And you think you can use me againts him? You already said that you know what happened to us so it's also clear that you know we're gone so you can't use me for whatever your plan is. I'm sure there's no who cares about me after we broke up." I know.

"I know because he's stupid, I want to hurt his ego and that will only happen if you agree to pretend to be my girlfriend."

"And you think I'll agree?" I asked him.

"Yes, I know if you're mad at him because he cheated on you and you also want him to feel the pain he caused you so why hurt his ego right?"

"And why do you want that thing to happen? He's still your brother, even if you turn the world upside down, he's your blood." I said

"That bastard owes me money and I can't get past what he did." I saw his clenched fist.

"And what is it?" I ask.

"He kidnapped my ex girlfriend."

I laughed. "Seriously? That's your ex." I exclaimed.

"I wouldn't be that ex if he didn't flirt!"

"The girl also flirted so your brother is not the only one to blame." I promise.

"Look that girl is my girlfriend! I don't know what Kevyn did why he chose her."

"I'm sorry but I can't help you Mister." I promised and stood up. He tried to call me but I didn't listen to him, When I saw my friend I pulled him out of the Cafe.

"Are you okay?" he asked me when we got into the car.

"I am, don't worry about me." my answer.

We were silent the entire flight, luckily my friend didn't speak. Until we got home, I invited him to come in but he refused because he had to go home.

When I entered the house, I found mommy sitting in the living room, she stood up when she noticed my arrival.

"Hi, mommy." I congratulate him.

"Hi baby girl. How are you?"

"I'm fine mom. I just stayed up too much watching k drama." I answered him.

"Maybe you're neglecting yourself too much."

"Don't worry mommy because I don't do that kind of thing. Anyway, when did you come? Why didn't you tell me?" I asked him.

"I just came and I want to surprise you but you left."

"What's wrong mom?" I will ask.

"There is a party that will be held the next day and I want you to attend first because I have meetings so I can't go and your Daddy isn't here."

"Maybe no one is attending to us mom." I promise.

"It's not possible son, you have to go, you know we're going to have a business party. You can take Kevyn with you."

I just nodded in agreement, I won't say that we no longer have that gag because mommy might be surprised. Our families are business partners and know if it will affect the business by chance.

Sometimes I wonder if I will agree to what Drake wants to happen, he and Kevyn are totally brothers so there is nothing to lose if I agree to what he says.
