Chapter 65

I woke up sometime around eight, Theo had called twice and then texted, reminding me of our rendezvous. I spent a moment in bed, debating if I should go or not when his last text came in,

T; Please, little wolf.

He even added a cute pleading emoji at the end. I sighed, running my fingers through my hair before rising to my feet. One quick look at the room told me that everyone was asleep if the light snores weren't an indication.

I didn't bother checking myself in the mirror, this wasn't a courtesy visit. As much as it pained me, I had to do this. It was the only way out.

Sneaking out of the court was an easy task and soon I found myself meandering through the vast courtyard. The trees billowed in the wind, making light swishing sounds. I rubbed my palms against my arms to find some heat, but it was useless as the breeze blew harder.

My eyes found the entrance leading to the maze and I hurried towards it. Then I caught it,
