Chapter 63

I held my breath as she picked up the fork, she didn't move. Her eyes were still fixed on the plate I'd served,

"What-" She paused, dark blue eyes lifting to meet my anxious gaze, "What is this?"

I chuckled, hiding my twisting fingers underneath the table between us, "It's a flower jelly."

An immaculately shaped brow raised at the mention of that and I swallowed before continuing,

"It's a recipe I learnt from my mother's cookbook when I was sixteen." I gestured towards the small dome of jelly, "It's not the most healthy choice of food but this means a lot to me."

She seemed intrigued, I could tell by the slight sparkle in her eyes. When she looked back down at the plate, my fingers unconsciously clenched together,
