Katrina’s POV

I halted and turned to my left, my eyes narrowing in confusion as I asked. “Why?”

“I can see you forgot the motto in this pack,” the guard murmured in reply.

“Which is?” I questioned, getting more confused. “I didn't know there was a motto we abide by.”

“I guess no one told you then,” the guard scoffed as he appeared at me. “You are no newcomer and should have known it.”

“Well I don't so fill me in,” I exhaled in a breath. “The Alpha and Amanda don't like to be kept waiting.”

“Which should I do so?” He queried, finger tapping the back of his hand as he held both palms in front of him.

“What?” I asked, getting more confused by the second.

“You asked me to go ahead and fill you in,” the guard reminded. “I’m trying to ask which question should I do that to.”

“Both,” I declared.

“The motto I was referring to, goes like this,” the guard started. “Do as they say, asks the questions later or face their wrath regardless.”

My eyes widened in surprise at his statement while it san

Katrina’s POVIf I thought I was in hell and being treated like trash before then I could say what I was experiencing was a little help compared to the one I was in after Davos Ruther’s visit. The insults and maltreatment had tripled and I was barely managing to stand on my two feet thus all strength was drained from my body before the day came to an end.Aside from the chores and and heavy lifting, Amanda had set aside an hour of the day for me to be beaten up. There was no specific method however I was called into her office at a specific time of the day to receive whatever she had in store for me.The first day was me being held by some maids while she laid me down on the desk in her room and flogged my back with a whip that of course left marks and bruises on my back. Tears poured out of my eyes till there was no wetness left in them. After that I wasn't treated with even an ounce of care or given time to grieve or get adjusted to the pain I was inflicted, instead I was commanded

Katrina’s POV“Katrina,” Shaun mentioned my name and whirled my attention away from the men whom had just introduced themselves.“Yes,” I answered, my expression completely blank regardless of the rush of emotions flowing through my system.“From this moment on, you are no longer a member of this pack,” Shaun made a declaration while Amanda was surprisingly quiet as she was positioned beside him across the desk.“What?” I questioned in surprise despite the fact I already guessed what was to come, however I never thought I would be denounced from the pack.“You heard him clearly Katrina,” Amanda finally spoke just when I pointed out her silence. “Davos requested for you as a gift which is what we are giving him, or do you want the lives of many people to be stolen away by his wrath?”“I never said a thing like that Amanda,” I growled, finding it hard to hold my irritation.“Then we have nothing more to discuss here,” Amanda went on to say, provoking Advisor Thomas and Beta Mathew to

Katrina’s POV“I’m sad and happy you are leaving us,” Vanessa said as she escorted me to the black rangerover packed in front of the house, Amanda and Shaun standing a distance away, watching us.“Same way I’m having mixed feelings,” I confessed in a sigh and reached for my satchel which she insisted to help me carry.I had filled her in briefly on what was going on while I put whatever valuables I had in the sizable leather bag. It was difficult for her to understand, nevertheless she felt anger and remorse at my situation. She ended up apologizing after our little talk and I told her the truth about not bearing grudges at her actions however I made it clear that we could never be close again even if our paths managed to cross in the future. It was a far fetched thought to think about crossing parts, but there was only a small bit we could predict about life. Unexpected things could happen at unexpected times. My life was a living testament to that and though it was normal for me to

Katrina’s POVAfter we drove for two more minutes, I caught sight of large walls in the distance. My curiosity sparked and I couldn't stop myself from asking. “What’s that?”“The walls surrounding the Lycan kingdom,” Mathew answered after I asked and I turned to see him focused on the ipad in his hold, not bothering to lift his head to reply.“They are huge,” I declared, my actions and words showing my lack of exposure and knowledge of certain things.“Yes,” Thomas murmured in a small laugh. “They are.”Soon we reached tall iron gates that opened up as our car approached and a man in black cap and a casual attire stood there. He granted the vehicle a salute regardless of the tinted glass aa we rode past the barrier. The image that surrounded me appeared surreal as we entered the kingdom. Tall buildings and architectural structures were scattered everywhere I looked.Minutes later the car came to a stop and I heard the sound of clicks indicating the car had been unlocked. Katrina’s POV“Beside the king’s what?” I asked, my voice breaking as I ran behind her while she tugged me in whatever direction she thought was correct.I could only catch a flashing glimpse of spiral staircase with golden handle as we climbed to the floors above and beautiful lights as I moved at that speed. Soon we came to a halt and she beamed at me, we were standing in front of an intricately carved door with shiny mahogany wood which from one glance you could tell was very expensive.Thomas and Mathew were no where to be seen and I couldn't blame them. I was shocked by her rapid movement in dragging me, her excitement a bit contagious and hard for me to resist as she felt like a burst of sunshine to my previously dark world.I could faintly hear them from downstairs but Ariana wasn't paying attention. She was too focused and elated by the matter at hand. Mathew probably knowing his sister and deciding to leave her be as he didn't bother to join us upstairs and accompany us.“Op

Katrina’s POVFor the first time in as long as I could remember, I had what people called a luxury bath. Different scents filled the bathroom as I rinsed my skin from the soap which I used to scrub my body clean. At some point I discovered I had been crying which didn't surprise me thus I was so overwhelmed with joy and relief as I did so. I knew it was too early to be happy, nonetheless my body and mind couldn't help succumb to the peace and calmness of the new environment I had found myself in.The past hour felt like heaven and I could say the difference was clear from where I was coming from. Exiting the bathroom, I strolled to the bed, my heart clenching in warmth and brow lifting in surprise as I caught sight of white cotton shorts and a blue vest laid out on the mattress.Already having an idea who’s action it was, I simply dropped the towel I had wrapped around me and lowered my body on the bed. Katrina’s POV“Open,” I called at the door as I halted my task of brushing my brows, an action I had never done in my life. Ariana had volunteered to pluck my brows the previous night. I refused initially but she told me it’d be worth it. After some persuasion, I gave in and almost regretted doing that at the jabs of pain I felt at each pull of my facial hair.In the end, the result was rewarding as she had said and the pain was nothing compared to all the hurt I had gone through all my life so I sucked it up and was happy at the change it made on my face as my sight caught the mirror that morning. We spent some time over dinner which she had brought and I was surprised when she joined me in eating. When I asked, her response was simply, she was hungry and she knew I was lonely so she came to keep me company and made me feel at ease. After dinner she pointed out the names and uses of the content in bottles, containers and tubes that were on my vanity table and in the bathroom.I was

Katrina’s POVAs we gathered around the frayed scroll, its mysterious lettering flashing in the faint torchlight, the atmosphere was heavy with suspense. Every time my heart beat, it served as a harsh reminder of how much depended on us. We had arrived to the deserted Lycan ruins, a location lost to time, thanks to the mystery. I felt the old carvings under my fingertips as I moved them over the stone walls. Relics from the past. Back when werewolves and lycans weren't adversaries. When they were one, that is. Shaun was standing next to me, looking over the ruins with amber eyes. "This place gives me a bad feeling." Mira let out a loud sigh. "Whether you like it or not, this is where the puzzle took us. Here is the solution. I looked to a big archway at the far end of the room and nodded. Beyond it, the blackness went on forever. I got a weird feeling that we were closer than ever before, like a weight pressing down on my chest. "We move together," I murmured while holding onto m

  • Bound to the Alpha’s will   Chapter 162: A Fight Against Herself

Katrina's POVThe air shifted around me, thick like a heavy mist, pulling me under. My body no longer felt like my own. The world faded, the ground dissolving beneath me until I was floating in an endless void. I wasn’t sure how I got here—one moment, I had been gripping the scroll the temple guardian had given me, reading its cryptic words, and the next, everything had gone dark. I took a slow breath, steadying my nerves. This was part of the trial. I had known there would be one. The moment I touched the scroll, I felt something pull at me, dragging me into a place beyond the physical world. But I hadn’t expected it to feel so... real. A soft whisper echoed through the void, a voice both foreign and familiar. "You're not prepared." I spun, searching for the source, but there was only darkness. Then, out of nowhere, a figure stepped forward. My breath caught. It was me. Or rather, it was a version of me—one twisted, darker. Her eyes blazed an unnatural red, her lips twisted

  • Bound to the Alpha’s will   Chapter 161: The Ancients' Sacred Blade

Katrina's POV The icy frost seeped into my bones as the wind howled across the rocky summits. As we ascended more into the mountains, I felt the weight of our mission bearing down on me with each step. The faces of the slain flashed before my eyes, and the remains of the previous fight still troubled me. There was no time to mourn, but we had just about made it out alive. Shaun walked purposefully in front of me, his golden eyes searching the way. The cold air made Mira's breath haze as she walked next to me. We all remained silent. All we could hear were the distant howling of wolves borne by the wind and the crunch of snow under our feet. The temple was near. I sensed it. Legends about a secret temple tucked away in these mountains, unaffected by time or conflict, have persisted for ages. An ancient order of werewolves, warriors pledged to defend a holy weapon—the sole sword that might finally put an end to The Crimson Alpha—were supposed to guard it. However, getting there woul

  • Bound to the Alpha’s will   Chapter 160: The True Origin Of TheCrimson Alpha

Katrina’s POV The world continued to rotate. For a minute, I believed I had lost everything as darkness engulfed me. As I pushed myself to walk, I gasped for air in ragged breaths. The air was still heavy enough to choke on with the stench of decaying dead and burning flesh. They had lost the fight. We had had to back off, almost making it out alive. We had been teasing the Crimson Alpha. Now that much was obvious. Beside me, Shaun moaned and clutched his side, his fingers dripping blood. Mira was so tired that her body was shaking and her face looked pallid. We weren't dead, but we were shattered and bruised. Something has to count for that. I took a deep breath and looked around the remains of the former enemy stronghold. It had long ago been wrecked by the battle, and all that was left was eerie quiet and crumbling stone. It was our lone haven of safety and a place to rest before confronting the next nightmare. I had just risen to my feet when I became aware of the wall marks

Katrina's POVThe air was still pulsing with the black energy, dense and oppressive. My limbs shook as I forced myself to get up, my body hurting from the blow. I could still hear the Crimson Alpha's low, mocking voice. "Do you really believe that this will be that simple?" I pumped oxygen into my lungs by clenching my fists. Around me, the battlefield was in flames. It was a sickening, suffocating smell of death, fire, and blood. The zombies weren't stopping, which was the worst part. The enchantment that held them together would not allow them to rest, and they continued to rise. It wasn't normal. False. Shaun landed next to me, gasping for air. His golden eyes were searching the battlefield in despair, his mouth clamped hard. He snarled, "We need to figure out how to stop this." Mira just avoided a zombie warrior's sword before skidding to a halt beside us. "He's getting stronger—that blast." He is consuming them. off their demises. My eyes returned to The Crimson Alpha. As his enormous figure rose out of the smoke, the flickering firelight created unsettling shadows. His presence was oppressive, and his crimson eyes burned. Mira's face was pallid when she stumbled next to me. "No." Shaun gripped his sword tighter. "He ought not to be present." However, he was. And he wasn't by himself. The earth trembled. Katrina's POVThere was chaos on the battlefield. The air was filled with the sound of warriors shouting, bones shattering, and metal clashing. The smell of blood permeated the moist ground under our boots. Everything was going too quickly. I was standing in front of The Crimson Alpha one moment. The next, we were surrounded by war. My troops and his collided. From the woods came the Shadow Cult, their swords harsh and keen, their cloaks moving like liquid shadows. And among it all—Lycans, untamed and unmanageable, destroying everything in their path. Beside me, Shaun was engaged in combat, slaying warriors as they surged at him with his sword, which flashed in the moonlight. Like a ghost, Mira maneuvered between adversaries, striking in unexpected places. Then there was me. I had changed. I felt it in each motion and blow.
